It’s like dealing with Freddy Kreuger or that fellow in the hockey mask. You think you’re rid of the guy and – SURPRISE!! – he pops up again.
Take a look at the web flyer. Yeah, it’s old. The event happened late last month. But the good thing about examples of pimpery is the fact that they are timeless. A pimp event last month is as good an example as a pimp event planned for next month. The only difference is that I might be able to warn some of you away from one scheduled for next month. But I digress.
Take a couple of minutes, go back to the flyer and read it. Try to read all of it, all the details. When you get back, I have a few questions.
First question: Other than supposedly being orchestrated by God, what has God got to do with any of the goings on at the conference? I did a little bit of digging around and many of the speakers are pastors, either of their own churches or along with their husbands. How is this consistent with Scripture?
Second question: How many times have these people offered conferences to help you overcome past hurts, setbacks, and misunderstandings? It seems that between them and Jakes, the women are loosed, restored, transformed and enlightened at least once a week. If folks are attending a functioning church, isn’t that what the people around them are for? Why do you have to travel to another county or state to overcome? Besides, isn’t that overcoming done through the Spirit of God? (Yeah, I know it was more than one question. But as the writer, editor, and publisher of this blog I get to do that every once in a while.)
Third question: Why is that loser JunieB presenting ANYTHING at this conference? Apparently her entire life consists not just of being hurt, but hurting as well. I mean, for goodness sake, JunieB telling us about being a winner is like ex-New York Governor Spitzer telling us about chastity. Or Bill Clinton telling us about honesty.
Fourth question: If this event is so much about Christ, why do they have such things as regular seating and VIP seating? Does the extra 15 bucks make me more important than the slob that comes in with only $25? Do I get to rub elbows with the speakers?
Fifth question: Is it just me or is Bridget actually something of a middle aged babe?

Question #1
It is not orchestrated by God. It is once again a form of godliness denying the power thereof.
Question #2
You would think by now that all of these folks would have passed through “entire sanctification” by now and on their way to Glory like Enoch or Elijah. But, alas, another conference must be necessary. It is sad , however, to see individuals running to and fro to try and find their latest spiritual high, only again to go to get their next spiritual fix somewhere else. What are their local churches doing?
Question #3
What does she have to say? Maybe she needs to lay herself on the altar again.
Question #4
Have you ever seen Oprah with out makeup or the other one… you know… uhh… whats her name….
What do you really expect from a woman who can’t discern enough scripture to determine that she and her buddies can’t be pastor. Secondly, what else can she do but fleece the flock since her husband does it inside the congregation and outside (selling prayer cloths and stones).Whenever the church plays as “Simon Says” in Acts 8:20 they bring a curse on themselves and have to return because things never get better when practicing disobediance to God’s Holy Writ. These women are wells without water and thunder clouds without rain, empty but full of chatter. 2Peter 2 and Jude says that they will never change, they are already doomed.
Ever notices that most men who sit under women pastors are hesitant to say so. That’s the sign of a wimp. 2 Peter 2:14. Come out, come out, whereever you are.
Another thing that caught my eye was the “photoshoot”. Which am sure has a price on it to….
c’mon melvin, youknowwazzup. The conferences are designed to let all the sheepetta’s know that they have all these problems first. Then the pimpettes let them all know that they can be loosed,, but only after giving their very best seed offering AND for total deliverance, loosage and destiny arrival, get (buy) the complete distortion of God’s word, errrrr, I mean complete message at the overpriced book & tape dis-play.
And I would think this would be an equal opportunity con-ference??? “Where all da white women at?” I mean if anyone can give marital advise, who better than Paula White (no pun intended)?. And Cheryl Brady? She can hack, hype and sweat with the best of ‘em. And let’s not forget Darlene Bishop. She knows all about being poor and said in one ’sermon’ I watched while she was at the Potter’s House that when she was a little girl had to wear her brothers underwear “’cause I didn’t have no money to buy no panties!” (Darlene)
Finally, it’s about networking with other pimps and pimpettas. You come to my conference and you’ll get a nice offering. I come to your’s and I get a nice offering. The sheeple will bless us all and we can still keep our nice fat salaries while NOT really pastoring our own churches.
So much more could be done to witness and be fulfilled if we would only stay home and help ppl where we live with time, talent and treasure. And study our bibles!!!
sorry I didn’t address the questions in order, well I might have even missed one or two.
Oh, the VIP seating??? YOU WANT THAT FOR SURE! That’s so when they say, “….slap your neighbor and say….” The ones you are sitting around must be the upper crust, not the dust so then you are on your way to chill in prosperity-ville cause ‘neighbor’ in the natural will do you a favor and birth your spiritual progression toward abundance which will give you the favor you need to take the leap to reap the heap gawd has….(man I feel the anointing….see the rhymes?) Anyway, you get the point.
(MN: People - Keep your eye on Benjamin. He is way too fluent in the WoFers’ language.
)
ROFL!
Well Melvin, these women also are inviting Andrew Jackson,U.S. Grant, and hopefully Benny Franklin in large numbers. Do you catch my drift? I wonder if Aubrey Thomas thinks Ms. Bynum is a true prophet as well? She is a oneness pentecostal if I’m not mistaken? That alone disqualifies her from any ministry!
(MN: It’s probably more accurate to say that she is more than willing to “minister” with those who hold to a Oneness doctrine. I don’t think she cares enough one way or another to stand on one doctrine or the other. Apparently the most important thing to her is the audience and, of course, their funds. And apparently her ability to draw the crowds is enough that Bridget is willing to invite her (planning a divorce and all) to speak.
One thing you have to admit though, is that these women have ‘nads of steel. And please note - the term actually applies to men OR women. )
The price was reasonable
. I hope that the gospel was proclaimed at least once over the 3 day conference. Anyone heard any feedback on the conference?
(MN: Agreed. The price was definitely reasonable. When Statndup Ministries meets this August I believe they are planning on defraying the overall cost of the conference by having people commit to about the same amount. Of course, to have a picture taken with me will cost you $30 extra. Fifty bucks if you want me to smile. )
melville, how on earth did they leave you out of the loop? the conference has been “postponed” til next year. shoot!, and i was really looking forward to handing out my bag of hershey kisses! oh well, guess i’ll just hafta eat them all by myself now.
Well am glad I got mine with you last year, smile and all. I’ll bring it this year so you can autographic it for me…smiless
Amos 8:11-12 describes all this very well.
“11 ” Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord GOD, That I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine of bread, Nor a thirst for water, But of hearing the words of the LORD. They shall wander from sea to sea, And from north to east; They shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the LORD, But shall not find it.
Running to and fro, just as today - They seek “prophets” who can tell them how to succeed in this passing life and ignore the Word of God had already set down for us, which is our life.
In Amos’ day, they had had the Torah of Moses to live by. It had grown dusty with disuse. And, the prophets who came after Moses all pointed the people back to what God had delivered through him. Those prophets never introduced any new doctrine or practice for the Israelites. It was always “Return.”
God got tired of accommodating them with prophets, so He cut off the flow of them to the nation by calling for a famine of it. He gave them over to the false prophets, who sprung up in vast numbers from sea to sea and from north to south to meet the demand for a “word from the Lord” everyone seemed eager for, but could not supposedly find.
So, it is today. The Christian is to live by the apostolic doctrine. There are no more teaching to come to us from Our Father. He knew what He wanted to say to us at the very beginning through Jesus and His appointed men, just as He did through Moses so long ago to His people.
These people today who pony up the registration fees at these conferences held in lavish surroundings, would do well to heed what Jeremiah says, “Thus says the LORD: ” Stand in the ways and see, And ask for the old paths, where the good way is, And walk in it; Then you will find rest for your souls. (Jeremiah 6:16a)
But, today, the conference junkies are as the Israelites of old who said to that wonderful command and invitation But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’ (6:16b)
Let us thank God for protecting us and enlightening us about these dangerous people and their poisonous teachings. Let us all remember too that none of us are immune to deception. We must not look only to ourselves to stand. It is by the ongoing grace of God that we stand.
Stan…You nailed it!
Interesting!!! Correct me if I am wrong but didnt Bridgets husband Ike pay JunieB’s back taxes for the home she almost lost?
One thing about the Pimps and pimpettes, they sure know how to network.
Bridgets old if I recall you covered her birthday bash or something from last year. As to Juanita I don’t know even people I expect not to care about her still do so I don’t know what’s up with her comeback.
Mel,
since i came across your website i am becoming more and more aware of my responsibility to read my Bible rather than buying these pimps’ books. I realize that it is only throwing money down the drain.
I am originally from Congo-Brazzaville(Africa) and i am currently living in South Africa. Everyday in my spare time i come and read some new articles about what is happening in the church in America, for it directly affects the body of Christ in the world.
Just for your information, this new gospel “made in America” is also distroying the Church in Africa. Almost all the false doctrines and prosperity messages we are listenning here are taken out of these TBN pimps’books. It is so sad to see how naive people are. People think that everything coming from the USA is perfect and because of that they say “amen” to anything without even examining the scriptures like the bereans did. I believe it is high time we went back to the real source.
Can we please pray for the sheeple here because of the next Megafest conference in Johannesburg?
Mel, God bless you for the work and keep it up( Mel, Nzambi ku sakumuna nge mpe tatamana na kisalu yayi=Kikongo version not a curse).
Au revoir!
Melvin, it is definately just you!
Why you want to be hatin’ on the woman like that? What about Dr. Medina Pullings? Sure she holds something of a babe factor. Granted, there’s nothing there spiritually. But if it weren’t for her looks she really wouldn’t be able to say the spectacularly stupid things she says.
I dunno, Mr. J - heresy tends to blind good looks…
melville, openly calling women babes seems inappropriate coming from a Christian man. it’s one thing to comment that a women is pretty but “a babe” carries a whole ‘nother connotation in my book. am i being overly modest here?
uh, i meant overly sensitive.
Mrs. Mav….
I must agree with you on this one. I think it’s inappropriate for a Christian man as well as any other man. It is disrespectful and serves to further objectify women in the public discourse and domain and we have more than enough of that already.
As you say, commenting that a woman is pretty, cute, attractive is one thing in that it is using an adjective to describe her physical appearance. But, no, calling her a “babe” I think is disrespectful and beneath the children of God.
Hi All,
I don’t have a problem with this, whats up with you guys. Why take offence? Clearly its some motivational speaking event and they as women can connect with other womens’ feelings, emotions etc. Chill out.
NOW iiiiffff this was supposed to be Christ centered and bible based certainly i would take offence but cleaarrly its not. I mean in the whole flyer God is mentioned once and in the smallest font used on the flyer. Relax, much ado about nothing.
Hey Mel how can I convey dripping and disgusted sarcasm? Is there an emoticon or some font variation or something I can use?
Our girl doesn’t disappoint. Many persons on this site (prophesied) that she would be lining herself up right after her marital debacle for a return. We saw it, called it and charted it. Pity some are so predictable (JB). I would suggest to everyone to have ample amounts of buttered popcorn (there is a light version for those of us who have become victims of circumference) and soda because the show is continuing.
“Feed the flock, not on the flock.”
have any of you heard of gods glamarous girls. sounds a little vain to me lipstick covered lips and a tube of lipstick. i think you can type in gods glamorous girls and its dee dee freeman giving it. this is ridiculous it’s pushing christian women to become vain and forget about God under the guise of Christ. the sad thing about these kind of people is that if you don’t belong to their group and pay them money you cannot go speak to the people. with them it’s not about the word God has given someone, but about belonging to their group. so if you truly have a word from God you will have to be like Christ and John the baptizer preaching from outside because they will not let you in
(MN: By the way - guess where she and her husband got their Doctorates from? That’s right!! FICU
Here’s the info on GGG. And get a load of the speakers at the planned conference. Brazelton, Mrs. Frederick Price, etc.
Can anyone say GOAT ROPE? In the linked site, look under the heading of “Life in the Petting Zoo”. )
My mistake. It’s Mrs. Fred Price’s daughter, not his wife. I believe her name is Betty.
Hey,
I just visited the GICU site and pulled up Medina Pullings. I couldn’t help but notice the fake bling photo shopped onto her diamond rings on her fingers. I guess that’s really important in a minister’s PR photo. Sheesh!
I see it’s a family affair as well, with both daughters being employed by the ministry along with the exec. secretary securing the Pastor vision as well as teaching youth. What does securing the Pastor vision mean???
Hey my dad is a Pastor… I went to school got a bachelor’s degree and you know he still won’t put me on paid staff. Something about us being ministry minded and having other things to do with the money (feed homeless, purchase Bibles, pay the electric bill) and not wanting to burden the church with another salary and so I had to actually go get a real job and still help out at the church for no money. Where is the nepotism when you need it!!! I like Nigel am still looking for the sarcasm button.
S4truth, what kind of church is that!? Why would you go in to a ministry that is only concerned about using money to help the homeless and purchase bibles? I mean trying to stay in line with biblical truth is cool and all but, truth ain’t gonna pay the bills (or get you that 4 bedroom house w/ a swimming pool, finished basement, basketball court, lake in the backyard (w/catfish), or his&hers’ Bentleys.
Sounds to me you are cursed with a curse.
TOG,
I’m disappointed that you’re such an underacheiver and clearly lack ambition!!! A true pimp wouldn’t settle for just 4 bedrooms.
“Feed the flock, not on the flock.”
Nigel, that’s true…BTW are they doing the samething in Trinidad now, (you know the pimpery and all)? Since Trini. has become more modernized; you would assume that the Americanized Gospel would make its way to those parts.
TOG,
Believe you me its become very widespread. We even have some of our own local versions. Apart from which TDexter has been here again as recent as about two months ago. I was supposed to get a copy of the ad for the PP crew but failed unfortunately.
“Feed the flock, not on the flock.”
Yes! Live of the gospel and not “off” the gospel.
According to JunieB, if you don’t own a $5,000 pen, you’re not worthy! How can a woman of GAWD claim to be so anointed and prophetic (more like pathetic and profit), that her own life is surely no example of having God in her life. It amazes me that people, regardless of what they see, still flock to hear them speak and throw money at the feet of these pimps and pimpettes. I guess it’s no different than voting for the president we now have in office….twice.
I found the ‘God’s Glamorous Girls’ website. I pass by the church to and from work every day. I should stop in, bring some popcorn and soda and see the show.
http://www.godsglamorousgirls.com/
So much for modesty!
I looked further at the registration requirements. I am ceased to be amazed at the hideous level of fleecing and needless flaunting that continues to move forward with these type functions. Ironically, I left a church here in PHL back in late Febuary, where those pastors are in very close relationship with the Freemans, as well as have connections with many of the people “featured” in this unnecessary getup. Because of that, I would not be surprised if this mess is crammed down the congregation’s throats as a means of “support” during the announcements. It demonstrates that birds of a feather certainly flock together.
To that end, I have made several critical observations (feel free to apply scripture, when and as necessary):
- only a cursory glance of a mention of God but glorified display of all things concerning outward appearance and “virtue,”
- respector of persons, demonstration of favoritism and division of the body (only those that can pay to get in may do so; and only those that are “pastor’s wives” that pay an additional $60 are invited to eat with Dee Dee);
- a very backwards flow of money (poor “giving” to the wealthy instead of vice versa);
- the involvement of teenage girls as a means of grooming the next generation to further such trifling attitudes and behavior.
The primary audience are going to be black women that are likely just a step or two from financial collapse. They will be the ones who will spend the money for registration, clothes, hair, travel, food, lodging, “offerings” and yet more money for books, CDs & DVDs…..all in an effort to chase and impress people that do not know their name, have no clue where they live and no inclination to care about the condition of her soul.
God, PLEASE open these peoples’ eyes!!!
Melvin, in your final question you asked:
I’m sorry sir, but they never mention “Christ” in their flier. They mention it’s orchestrated by some “god”, that requires not only a fee for entry, but an additional VIP fee as well if someone wants the best seat. Their “god” is also holding a contest, that features rewards like a “photo shoot”. That’s certainly not the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the One True God, the Father His Son and His Spirit, creator of all things.
They never say a single time this has anything to do with Jesus Christ or the One True God that is spoken of in the Bible with 66 books.
I don’t know what led you to feel it was about our God, but obviously this event was orchestrated by the “god” of this world. The one who blinds them.
Remind me again of that ‘reasonable price’ for admission…
Thirty pieces of silver?
May I suggest a slogan for all these “con”ferences?
–’Sold out for Jesus’.
I just love “Christian” events with “VIP” seating.
James 2:1 My brothers, as believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ, DON”T SHOW FAVORITISM.
2 Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in shabby clothes also comes in.
3 If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, “Here’s a good seat for you,” but say to the poor man, “You stand there” or “Sit on the floor by my feet,”
4 have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?
What exactly about these verses is so hard to understand??
It says “man” and doesn’t apply to women. Also it says “gold” rings so I take it that I can wear my special diamond ring. Neither does the verse say anything against me having a $5,000,000 mansion
with a swimming pool in rear, neither does it stop me from owning the latest Ferrari….blah…blah…blah Sorry I’ve just finished reading a great book called “Unregeneate Hermeneutics” by Daddy Rich. (I’ll get you a copy Mel)
As usual Gary V you miss the bus as usual hmmmpfh. You have to reeeeaad the verses that way you are then required to then understand it. If I dont crack the bible open I wont know they’re there bro. Geez when will you understand that. Never judge others by your own standards. There you go assuming and giving the benefit of the doubt that they read the bible. LOL
“Feed the flock, not on the flock.”
Not only that Nigel, when you read the scriptures carefully, you have to also pray to the Holy Spirit for insightful illumination, so that he can reveal to you a new vision, that’s been hidden from the church these last 2000 years, because of religious tradition, and/or the demon of religion. And when you can’t get what you need from scripture, then you must tap into the deepest, and most sacred space within the Holy Spirit, so that it will allow you to receive a new revelation, which will come by way of your conversations with God almighty, directly.
I thought you dumbos knew this already. Sheesh…
My bad Nigel………WHEN will I learn??
VIP is typically a “club” thing, meaning a worldly concept. If you are in God, of God, doing God’s work and will, washed in His Son’s blood, aren’t you already a VIP? For free?
Juanita might get blessed if she got rid of that light pink lipstick. That’s probably why she’s not in the other inner circle of God’s glamorous girls.
One of y’all need to create some Discernment Oil since you know THEY love to be “anointed” with oil.
(MN: Funny you should mention that.
The Melvinite Temple of Marvelous and Fantastic Happenings just began offering the Melvinite Mighty Discernment Under Magnificent Beneficence Oil. For a bottle of your Mighty DUMB oil send cash, certified check, or money order to:

“anointed”….lol
LOL @ the Mighty DUMB oil.
LOL
Gosh Melvin don’t I get the anointed cloth as well? After all no scam is complete without one!
Melvin,
Along with the Mighty DUMB oil, you should sell the ‘Holy Ghost T-shirts’. Check out the site!
http://www.holyghosttees.com/
I can truly say, i’ve seen it all!!! Holy Ghost Tees?!!!!
I have a question, does that fall under blaspheming the Holy Spirit?
$37 AMERICAN dollars for a t-shirt? As high as gas is today, that’s at least 3/4 a tank of gas.
Wow I don’t know how I should feel about the tee’s should I hope they’re just trying to make money off Christian trends. Cause if those folks are serious it’s way worse than anything I’ve heard come out of the pulpit.
Hello, Melvinites:
Please do not tell me that those syllables on the different styles of t-shirts are glossolalia.
Please.
(MN: They are glossolalia. Sorry Chief, I know you asked me not to tell you that. )
Is there–and do they realize there SHOULD BE–some type of interpretation? This is laughable and it almost seems like a joke.
they have the translations, which seem a bit sarcastic…I am in shock that they are actually selling these tees and got real live models to model them! wow…nothing is sacred…truly amazing
Where did they put the translations? It’s kinda interesting…I could be wrong, but the words seem to be spelled phonetically, and not actually.
I was interested to see Brice’s comment about the exportation of pimpery to Africa.
Sad to say, I’m sure he’s right. There is a local church in here that is “borderline” WOF (never quite says it but is buddy-buddy with folks like Kenneth Hagin and TD Jakes), and they are constantly going to South Africa to “minister” and bragging about all kinds of incredible miracles–shack dwellers becoming millionaires and legs regrown and the like. Their newest target is Jamaica. Blech.
Margaret,
The Pimp game into third world countries has been going on for a little while now. Like any good business person you need to expand your market share to constantly increase your Prophets, er, uh, I mean profits. LOL!
But seriously though, these Pimps have not only targeted Africa but also China. Paul Crouch although being a heretic does know how to cut a deal. He pushed TBN broadcasting into China the most populated country on the planet. In doing so he has a firm foothold on that market. Funny thing is, Christians are still getting killed and imprisoned on the regular. Heck! China recently began to crack down on the Christians because of the upcoming Olympics. Can’t have any rabble rousers you know.
If any of these Pimps really were of God they would not be invited into these countries. They would be in fear of imprisonment and death like the original Apostles when they too preached in hostile lands. These people however get to preach the prosperity doctrine and reap millions from poor destitute people all the while paying off the respective governments.
Shameful!
Kyle
Margaret and Kyle,
Remember this widespread and diabolic thought in the church today that says:”Money and Fame are the sign of God’s approval on someone’s ministry”.That is why these pimps are impacting the third world countries negatively. We need to stand up and overthrow these Baal’s altars.
New converts are an easy prey and they need a careful spiritual follow-up otherwise they will succumb. A hungry Wolf is pitiless.
Tell me, knowing that you americans are pragmatic, how are you handling all these false doctrines in a hollywoodian society like yours ?
Yesu kaka me lunga na beto(Jesus is enough for us).
God bless you.
Brice.
bricerod@yahoo.fr
Brice,
We handle it here in America the only way we can and it is by blogs like this. Unfortunately people in the West are so fat and lazy and have all the creature comforts you could imagine that they really believe God is here just to lavish gifts on them. The Pimp game is really sick. The sheeple who follow the pimps are so oblivious to real persecution of Christians in other lands that they can’t fathom the thought that your God of the Bible is the same as theirs. In other words if you were to tell them of the poor persecuted Christians throughout the world and then compare it to the fat lazy western Christian they couldn’t wrap their mind around it because it does not fit the paradigm given by the Pimps they follow.
Kyle
Hi Melvinites,
In my opinion the reason most of these pimps do flourish in Africa is simple: the high level of poverty, “formal education” and unemployment etc… Beliving in this madness to most is an equivalent of playing the lottery-just another hussle to get out of povery and the plus here is the idea that one is doing it the “christian way”. However in my view the main reason they flourish in Africa is due to the low levels of sound doctrine education.
E.g. 1. To this date I am yet to go to a church that doesn’t preach tithing.
2. When people like Jakes, Oesteen and their ilks are considered as the litmus test of christian living, then you know we are in trouble.
3. 2Timothy 4:3-5.
4. 2Tim 3:1-5
5. It shouldn’t surprise the saints.
This is by no means an exhaustive list but merely an addendum to many more opinions that each one of us maybe familiar with.
Bryce(sango boni, Olobaka lingala?)
God bless
Hey Encouraged.
), too many Christians are impoverished and lack a sound Christian education.
I’m not responding to beef, but when you think about it, these teaching flourish in America (arguably the richest country). I guess in a spiritual sense (can I spiritualize it
Kyle and EAFD,
I really thank God for this blog, for it is a platform where each one of us can express his concern freely and also create awareness to the sleeping body of Christ.
Melvinites, Let’s call a spade a spade: Many people in the third world countries suffer from a complex of inferiority due to ignorance and a very poor educational system. So when these eloquent and highly educated pimps come on the stage, the poor sheeple finds himself already inside the slaughterhouse: the exit door is locked. So no more way out. But thanks be to God- thru Jesus Christ, He will make a way. That’s why our perseverance in prayer is needed for God to intervene and set the captives free. So as EAFD said, the “low levels of sound doctrine education” is one of the problem the third world countries are facing and this is the challenge we have to take up altogether in order to advance the kingdom of God.
Kyle and all Melvinites, God keep us faithfull and obedient.
Melvin, you are a blessing for many nations. God bless you. Yet, i have a question: Why don’t you organize a special day to pray for these pimps as you did for the priestess Oprah?
EAFD(Encouraged aka former despondent), na lobaka mpe Lingala. Na za malamu mingi na ngolu na Nkolo, tika ete Nkolo Yesu a pambola yo na libota na yo nionso.
Hasta la proxima vez!
Brice.

I thank God for letting me find this site, thankyou for keeping us informed of what is going on in the churches today, some of the people mentioned I used to have so much confidence in its now where you don’t know who you can trust.
I didn’t know hwere else to put this amd it may be off a little but you guys gotta see this.
http://www.gospeltube.com/view_video.php?viewkey=237ac28b92c3472c5668
THOUGHTS?
ok, first off, i felt like slow dancing with my husband. mr. love claims he was singing to Jesus but those songs took my mind to a different place. when i want to sing to Jesus, i sing, “Jesus, You are the center of my joy” or something that solely focuses on Him without having to redirect my thoughts from what the song originally meant to me.
his reasoning that he just wants to let the Lord know he loves Him is a lame excuse. we show the Lord we love Him when we keep His commandments, not by changing the words to love songs, sheesh. John 14:15, John 15:10.
the crowd seemed to enjoy it though.
There is NO way he can say that singing Alicia Keys, or Peaches and Herb’s Reunited that I am singing to the Lord. When I was 17/18 years old and dating a particualr young lady, “Reunited” was our song and there is no way I am gonna sing that song in a church and not thik about that time. PLEASE!!!
The sad thing about that video is this: The people were standing up worshipping to “Always and Forever, Reunited and Alicia Keys as if they were “in the Spirit”. And did you check out the comments below? They were repeating what they heard him say in that “it’s all about who you are singing to.” What if you were in a club and the DJ played “Amazing Grace” and told everybody to keep slowdancing and that it’s all about who you are singing to and forget that this is a church song. What do you think would happen? Why is it that the world does not accept our music in their setting but we gladly accept theirs in ours? We need revival in the African American CHurch(if there is such a thing) badly.
Tj, though the view that America is the richest nation in the world is not true but even in America these pimps prosper at lower to medium bracket of the economic spectrum as for most peoples is about breaking into the next economic bracket. As i contended earlier the main reason this foolishness holds water here or anywhere else is due to lack of sound doctrinal education with our so–called sheperds and given 2Tim 4:3-5 it shouldn’t surprise most saints if not all, as we prefer Jakes “speaking through our situation” instead of the Lord through His living word. We seem to think that those words are dorment hence we need these men with their oratory abilities to prophelie to us, because they have “direct connection with the source”.
Bryce, (Nzambe mpe a pambola yo, ngai pe naza malamu.
