GOD WILL DEAL WITH THEM

(MN: And He will deal with you for sitting around and saying nothing while the wolves devour the sheep and the unsaved. You, ELDER, should be ashamed to take on the title of elder. You should be out there doing what elders are supposed to be doing - defending the body. Instead, you are stepping aside and giving free access to the wolves. )

Proverbs 26, verse 4 says, "Do not answer a fool according to his folly lest you also be like him." Nuff said! How does one starve a thing? Answer: You don't feed it.

(Melvin, SaiKo asked me to send this for him because he wasn't at a computer.

Melvin your comment.....OTWOG has been nattering on a bit [the word of God is nattering on a bit????? you are going to have some explaining to do during Judgement for this one]. Lots of God from heaven pronouncements, and quotes {quotes??????}. Lots of “of course we all know…” but not much in the way of substance {What???? I guess Peter lied when he said: And account that the longsuffering of our Lord IS SALVATION; EVEN AS OUR BELOVED BROTHER PAUL ALSO ACCORDING TO THE WISDOM GIVEN HIM HAS WRITTEN UNTO YOU; AS ALSO IN ALL HIS EPISTLES,.........};

(MN: And then he nattered on a whole lot more making his big finish with: )

HE THAT IS NOT OF GOD (that's you Melvin; HEARS NOT US [Gal. Heb. Rom., 1&2 Thes., 1&2 Cor., Titus, James, 1&2 Tim., etc.] (that's you Melvin). HEREBY KNOW WE THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH (me), and the spirit of error (you Melvin).

Tweet, I agree with you when you make mention that man is given way too much power. A person possessing power, unto itself, is neither inherently good or bad. As has been demonstrated on this board and others, such power "given" to a person can be used for evil purposes--totally dependent on motive. Just the same, a person possessing power can be used to the benefit of the person on the receiving end.

The point is, as long as we are all living, breathing beings with varying degrees of will (be they strong or weak), there will ALWAYS be instances where power will be misused and abused and thrusted on those of weaker constitutions, regardless of whether the dynamic is in the home, church or job. It stands to say that those on the receiving end of the abuse may have likely been stripped of their dignity in other areas prior to getting involved in a cultic church setting--i.e. abusive childhood home, for instance.

Sorry, but just like taxes, this stands to be a problem until the end of time.

"How many have been turned away from God by this man."

I have never been one to put much stock into statements such as this. Kinda sounds like the statement that suuporters of those discussed on this site say: "How many people did he/she bring to Christ."

By making the statement you did and the one I mentioned that is heard often, I think people are giving man WAY too much power and credit. :-/

I live in Fort Worth, Texas, all this is not new. Many of us have been privy to this information for years. However not being a COGIC member there was no recourse. (MN: Andre - I deleted some stuff. You need to give me some evidence before I will print it, since you name names and places. ) If you go by Shiloh the crowd is back. In fact they never really left. Allen has dirt on Haynes and other officials. Hence, nothing was ever done. It's not all of the COGIC preacher/pastors, but i've seen enough in Dallas-Fort Worth to know this is only the tip of the iceberg. How many have been turned away from God by this man.

Melvin....I have checked up Standup Ministry's website and it differs nothing from the WOF pimps you talk about. So-called "Pastor" Jay Cameron is linked to the site and he is teaching a subject called "Sexpose" {which is the same sermon the WOF pimp Ed Young preached and had posted in big letters on his church in Coppell, TX} and there is an ad to PURCHASE the sermon??????? Also Tyris Horton is linked with a picture of his wife like the WOF pimps (so he apparently does think it is okay for a women to preach) and discussions about plays, newletters, books, inviting Jay Cameron to speak at you church [no doubt for a fee], etc. Just like the pimps you talk about.....the only difference between the WOF pimps and the pimps you associate with is one asks out right for money and the other does it by plays, books, tapes, selling sermons, etc. and calling it the will of God. There is only one TRUE GOD, ONE TRUE CHURCH, ONE TRUE GOSPEL and that is the words of the bible. THE WORD OF GOD.....anything else is deception. The bible clearly tells us this.

Okay, so, uh, you guys still want me to document and give the names of those baptist folks, who told me to my face that Jesus wasn't God, but just the "son of God," which they viewed as being less than God the Father?

Oh and by the way, as of 3 years ago, a woman, whose father was a COGIC pastor, told me straight up that Jesus wasn't God, just the "son of God," only, which according to her interpretation, meant-that Jesus wasn't God, and that he was, again, less, and not equal to, God the Father.

Too many trinitarians, hailing from these congregations, believe that the only true God is the Father, whereas the Son is not God at all, just "divine."

Come on, I'm sure folks on here know exactly what I'm talking about.

Absolutely right. There needs to be a check and balance system for churches, especially those that are completely autonomous. With one man who is the absolute authority. I am saddened that COGIC's accountability system failed so miserably. I guess your system is only as goodas the people in them, huh?
I would also caution people from joining churches based on what they see on Sunday morning, alone. I invite people to come to church meetings. They cannot vote on any issue but it does give you an idea of what the churches actual structure is. If a pastor is not willing to engage in a conversation about his church or his theology the potential member should run like their behind is on fire.

(MN: OTWOG has been nattering on a bit. Lots of God from heaven pronouncements, and quotes. Lots of "of course we all know..." but not much in the way of substance; not much in the way of explanation. This is likely his/her last lengthy posting unless he/she comes up with actual substance. Extensive quotes of Scripture don't count as substance. I love it when these guys tell us we should just read the Bible and then proceed to tell us what it means. )

All I am saying is this.......As "christians" you say you believe in the Words of the bible and you say they are true. But if you TRUELY believed that; then you too would believe as I do.....ONLY THE WORD OF GOD!!!! Anything else is deception.........that is why in 1 John 4:4-6 it says: You are of God, little children, and have overcome them (false preachers/teachers): because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
They are of the world (false preachers / teachers): therefore speak they of the world, and THE WORLD HEARS THEM.
WE ARE OF GOD: HE THAT KNOWS GOD HEARS US (who is us???.....2 Peter 3:2 That you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:) HE THAT IS NOT OF GOD HEARS NOT US. HEREBY KNOW WE THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH, and the spirit of error.

And now that you know that ALL these churches and their religions are of the world he also says: James 4:4 YOU ADULTERERS AND ADULTERESSES, KNOW YOU NOT THAT THE FRIENDSHIP OF THE WORLD IS ENMITY WITH GOD??????? WHOSOEVER THEREFORE WILL BE A FRIEND OF THE WORLD IS THE ENEMY OF GOD.

1John2:15-17 says: Love not THE WORLD, neither the things that are in the world. IF ANY MAN LOVE THE WORLD, THE LOVE OF THE FATHER IS NOT IN HIM. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeS away, and the lust thereof: but he that does the will of God abides forever.

Col.2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through PHILOSOPHY AND VAIN DECEIT, AFTER THE TRADITION OF MEN, AFTER THE RUDIMENTS OF THE WORLD, and not after Christ.

saint james, "Common Sense" left through the door long time ago when people stopped reading their Bibles and seeking God for themselves. Pastors know this all too well. They know that they have so much power over their members, especially those who are vunerable due to circumstances in their lives.

Many times these victims have poured out their hearts to the pastors expecting spiritual guidance. These pastors know they are mentally weak and/or unstable. I'm quite sure the pastors lure them into the trap little by little, and once they see the foolish, unsuspecting person has TOTAL FAITH in the garbage they are feeding them, they take advantage of them.

Know for sure, they will answer to God! The solution is for church members to be as noble as the Bereans (Acts 17:11) and receive the message with great eagerness (and probably should add a little bit of skepticism in today's churches) and examine the Scriptures to see if what the preacher preaches lines up with the word of God. If not, call them to accountablity and request/demand that they explain just what they are talking about. Remember, there are demonic, evil spirits that we wrestle with. Evil men (and women) often present themselves as being sent from God when if fact they have a $elfi$h agenda for $$$$, or they are down right evil, as Rev. Spanky appears to be.

Thank you so much for your prayers and insightful words Cici.

We MUST continue to pray that sound preaching and teaching goes forth from the pulpits with the power of the Holy Ghost to draw sinners and convict saints to live holy lives. Much more of it is needed than what's currently coming across television. I agree with you and others in prayer that we must contend for the faith. We have to be like Paul when he confronted Peter about playing the hypocrite between the Jews and the Gentiles. These preachers can't sell out Jesus when in a "secular" setting on the airwaves, then preach holiness when in the "church" setting. It's the secular truly needs to hear about Jesus. It's only when we lift Him up that He can draw men.

If you are in the Dallas area, maybe we can meet or fellowship or you can recommend a sound church.
Stay blessed and again, thanks for your prayers.

Thank you for the welcome, R4C. To God be the glory.

I have been visiting and reading for at least a few months. I have wanted to join in for quite some time. I could not resist responding to OTWOG. Because I am one of those called to teach the Word of God, I just had to respond.

Like many of those who post here, I too am concerned about what is happening in the body of Christ and desire that we would come into the knowledge (read truth) of God.

I like DOC as a moniker for this forum because it speaks to what I would like to contribute. As a devoted student of Christ, I believe it is important to perpuate HIS doctrine, thus Sola Scriptura.

I look forward to participating in discussion with those who are like minded and I thank God for this forum and you all.

Sola Scriptura,

DOC

P.S. I appreciate your closing, too.

Godlysoldier,

I will be in praying for you and your family in your relocation to Dallas and I hope that you find a church home that meets your needs. I have very good friends who have know Bishop Jakes from his youth and very young days in the ministry, so i have often been in services with him at his church. While not wanting to get into a debate with you about all of his "doctrine" , I will say that what I have heard him preach in those settings has been very different from what I hear and see on television. I have often wondered why that is. In the services I have heard about salvation through Jesus Christ, tight living, holiness, good works, love for your neighbor, etc...and very, very little preaching on the more "popular" topics that many on this site refer to as 'self-help' except in relationshio to us availing ourselves of he power of God to change our lives and become the people that he has called us to be.

Like I said, I wonder why that is so...but, I've been praying that more of that typr of teaching and preaching makes it way on to the air to give some balance to his message.

Anyway.....all the best to you and your family and may you be blessed in your future endeavors...

Christianity is not about "Common Sense", tis true. But a preacher telling you that God told him to spank, sodomize and then rape you anally does not take a divine revelation to know he is a liar and a rapist.

Melvin said, concerning my claim that many baptists I've come across in the past, denied the full deity of Christ, in regards to it (my claim) not being subjective:

"Actually, your claim is very objective. People say things. Indicate who said them and when. It may be anecdotal, but you are still pointing to objective occurrences."

My response:

I disagree that I have to name names, seeing as how these individuals wouldn't be known by you, or any of the folks on here at pulpit pimps. This is why I say that my experience is subjective, in the sense that this is what I have personally experienced, coming from baptists, not yours, or anyone else's experiences.

(MN: My point is that this is not a subjective thing. People said these items. Your experience is not subjective. You heard someone say "Jesus is not God." This is objective. You heard it. The soundwave beat against your eardrums. )

It's like me saying that I ran across more than a few folks out there, who despise Vanilla ice-cream, even though studies claim that Vanilla is the most popular flavor of ice-cream out there. Now mind you, I'm not claiming that my experience on such a trivial matter is scientific, nor do I claim to have taken any notes, or records, of my experiences on the matter-but I do know what I have experienced and heard, beyond a shadow of a doubt. (MN: This would be objective as well. You may not be able to document it, but that doesn't make it subjectives. When a person tells you "I despise vanilla ice cream, the objective part is that they told you. )

A person's life's experiences, or the trends they have noticed, can't always be documented and recorded, in hopes of pulling up those recorded events as proof, in the future, when it comes to such a discussion as this. (This is what scientific studies are for.)

I mean come on-give me a break. (MN: Just trying to make sure we're all using the same words the same way. It makes for better communications. )

mrs mav, i didn't know what you and st. james were talking about so i googled the word "incubus". juanita bynum told of an experience like this in public? it sounds very demonic. perhaps this goes along with the jude passage--by dreaming they (ungodly)defile the flesh

it is very interesting to go through 2peter and jude and list the characteristics and behaviors of the ungodly and false teachers. as a result you begin to discern the ungodly. so daughter is making an excellant point about the problem with some peoples low view of scriptures. hey, the word works.

Ahhh, mrs. mav, this writing with no caps is sooo liberating. no wonder you do it. but don't worry this just may be one time thing for me. :-)

I was shocked because for the past year or so, it seems like most of his messages had been about "repositioning" one's self and the usual gospel of "self". I don't listen to him anymore...just when I decide to peruse the "church channels" to see if perhaps some of them have come back to the knowledge of truth, it surprised me to hear him preaching on something other than the gospel of self. I am moving to Texas next week and most of my family and friends "assume" that we'll be joining The Potter's House....NOT! I've just recently come out from the WOF deceptive movement and once you know the truth, you cannot go back to the lie.
I'm believing for the Holy Spirit to lead my family to a doctrinally sound church where God alone is on the throne, not man.
And I agree with you on your last paragraph!
Be blessed,
