As you know, T. Dexter is expanding his world. He’s a sometimes co-host on the Dr. Phil show. You know doctor Phil. He’s the the secular psychologist who got his start with that great New Age Priestess Oprah Winfrey.

The only trouble is that Phil, like Oprah shows no inclination toward Christian standards and philosophy. His views and solutions are deeply influenced by the world, not the Bible. His standards are as fluid as the sand in the parable of the man who failed to build his house on the rock.

T. Dexter has been getting softer and softer on homosexuality. No, I don’t mean that he is no longer advocating stoning them. He never did that and certainly never should have. Rather, he is starting to make noises that seem to equate homosexuality to lying, taking a pencil home from the office, or being not so nice to your wife.

In one interview, T. Dexter answers a question about homosexulity with one of his patented non-answers. And in doing so, erases any differentiation between sodomy and peeking at your opponent’s letter tiles during a game of Scrabble. (more…)

Merry Christmas folks. A very astute and helpful reader heard my pitiful cry for help and provided me with exactly what I was wishing for , a way to get John K. Jenkins’ abysmal audio, in which he explains to the sheeple that they are not able to teach themselves, out here on the web. And it turns out that it was much easier than I had at first thought it would be.

The Houston Hustler (aka I. V. Hilliard) just sent me my monthly “Send Me Money” package. And as always, I got some goodies in the envelope. Take a look at the picture above and see if you can guess which Bible story he’s using to take my money this month. There are five of them…they’re smooth…ignore the fact that they look like jelly beans…yes…yes…that right! He’s going to make an appeal to David and Goliath!

Do you think he talks about the contrast of leadership styles exhibited by Saul and David? Perhaps he talks about the importance of honoring God and trusting Him. Or maybe, just maybe, he wants me to send him one or more of the stones (with some money) so he can pray that some giant in my life will be defeated. (more…)

(The good Passah and LarryD have been corresponding by e-mail. Lawrence has been trying to get the good Passah to defend and explain some of his statements, statements the good Passah said he would explain in essays on his website. I visited the web site. So far all he has presented is a somewhat mixed summary of that which is sometimes referred to as being filled with the Holy Spirit. However, the real meat, the real indicator of where the good Passah is spiritually is reflected in his correspondence, not his ability to reproduce what someone else has written. You know - walking the walk and not just talking it.

You may not be able to read the entire e-mail - and that’s fine. My main interest here is for you to see how he attempts to deal with those who would disagree with him. Again, if you can’t muster the energy or stomach to read the entire post, my feelings will not be hurt. I just want to get the good Passah out of our system once and for all, at least for this thread. His involvement in future threads will be decided much more quickly. (more…)

I know many of you naysayers out there were betting that I wouldn’t get to a report on the Standup conference in Newark New Jersey before the end of the month. Well, I worked extra hard to make sure you lost the bet.

Before I go on, I must commend Tim Butler for making the entire event possible. Most, if not all of the cost of the event came right out of his pocket. And he did it with a smile and a welcoming attitude (click here) .

The jet I used to get to the conference is pictured above. Pay no attention to the markings on the tail. It’s purely coincidental that Continental Airlines has a symbol that is so similar to my own. I bought a used stair system and I never got around to removing Continental’s logo.

I actually got to Newark on Thursday, 29 November. Once I got to the hotel, I connected with Saiko Woods and his wife. The three of us, using a van graciously supplied by Tim, drove to the Standup radio studio and participated in the broadcast.

The next day, several of us ended up in the hotel restaurant for lunch and coffee. While there, we were joined by Matthew, a fairly recent escapee (a refugee if you will) from Fast Eddie’s church. Here’s a photo of the gathering. Matthew is on the left, then it’s Shawn Scott, Tyris Horton and Saiko Woods, one of the speakers at the conference. Saiko is also an assistant pastor for a church in Houston.

The conference started on time that evening. Sean did a presentation of the fear of God, and I have to say it was awful. Instead of making me feel good about myself, Sean’s presentation encouraged me to examine myself, my behavior, my attitudes and commitments. He never promised me a breakthrough of any kind. At the break I walked out of there feeling as though I had to be holy just because God is holy.

Saiko gave an excellent presentation on the sovereignty of God. I believe one of the best remedies for the Word of Faith crap out there is a strong, true teaching on the sovereignty of God.

The next day, John Coleman out of California () presented a lecture on the Diaprax. This sounds like a very boring topic, but you have to understand, the Diaprax is at the heart of the methods used to promote the heresies and promote the pimpings that we see in the mega-churches.

I spoke with many of the people attending the conference. One of the interesting aspects of the people is that most of them were escapees from some of the very churches I discuss on the site.

Unfortunately, the fellow who took the photo wasn’t very good at using a camera. He ended up cutting off over half my face.

I have to say that I was (if you tell anyone I said this I’ll deny it) really blessed by what I saw and what I heard from the people who attended. I have to admit that sometimes I feel like I’m spitting into the wind. They made it clear that I am making at least a small difference with Pulpit-Pimps.

Apparently, that’s how John K. Jenkins, the pastor of First Baptist Church of Glenarden sees me - Armed and dangerous.

A couple of Sundays ago, my wife wanted to attend communion service at FBCG. They have it at night. My wife really doesn’t drive that well at night and she really wanted to attend. So I took her…and stayed…for the entire service.

I met several friends from before my departure from that ball of doctrinal confusion. And I have to say I really felt a certain compassion for them. I miss them. I also discovered that I feel really sorry for them and the foolishness they are caught up in. But that’s neither here nor there.

The point of the post is to let you know that I apparently have the attention of the leadership of FBCG. The mother of a friend of mine is still a member and serves in a leadership capacity within the music ministry. And I, through God’s sovereignty, ended up sitting right beside her when we found seats.

A couple of days later I got an e-mail from my friend relaying a statement his mother made to him. It turns out that security (those guys walking around with the earpiece in their ear), kept me under surveillance the whole time I was there! (more…)
