Hey, isn’t that book of Jakes’ the one he was promoting on NPR when he told the Muslim woman Jesus might let Muslims into Heaven? These pimps find so many ways to deny the truth of Christ and twist scripture when asked directly. All for a book sale! Jakes should step down from claiming to be a “bishop” on that lie alone!

hey, dont make fun of Pentecostals. Not all of us are like these clowns. I dont know where these guys get their ordination from but it is ridiculous, I’ve heard of preachers becoming pastors at the age of 18 and I cannot believe it. How do they know how to lead a church with people of different personalities if they arent even old enough. I know for a fact that the IPC (India Pentecostal church) HQ in India doesnt just give out ordination to just anyone, they have to have a degree in theology and also serve in outstations before they can be ordained. I think that some of these mega church pastors have just purchased their ordination and then learned how to be motivational speakers and lead their sheep like the the pi piper that they are.

Is there going to be a latter rain as we near the end times?
Have you seen anyone with certain “gifts” such as healing and has a healing been documented?
Do you speak in tongues?
Do you believe in present day Apostles and Prophets?
Answer these questions so we can open up the debate.

In other words, Jakes is now a self-appointed Bishop over a conglomeration of churches. Whether and how much of a piece of the action he gets from these churches I don’t know.
He does some really great work in the communities, but his doctrine is absolutely awful.

HGAA is also a oneness pentecostal denomination but for some reason they removed their statement of faith which states that.I saw it a few years ago when they clearly stated that Acts 2:38 was God’s plan for salvation.It was very similar to what PAW has as their statement of faith.

The title Bishop has been taken WAY out of context today. In my case it’s more of a nick- name… for some reason when I started college many years ago, one of my room-mates started calling me that, and it stuck. Bishop, Pastor, and Elder are all the SAME thing, and the words/titles can be used interchangably.
Supposedly when a Minister is ordained, the person or people who ordains them, have had hands laid on them by other Ministers that can be traced all the way back to the Apostels.
When I was growing up, the title Bishop was reserved for only the most senior Ministers who had proved themselves in the Gospel over many years, and they were generally older Ministers, and there weren’t very many of them. The Bible even says such a person shouldn’t be a novis (see 1 Timothy 3:1-around verse 6 or so, this gives the qualifications of a Bishop). Bishop simply means, an officer of the church, not this high and might dignatary that people have made it today. The afore mentioned scripture eliminates probably 85-90% of all these so call Bishops we have today. It the tenants of the scripture were strictly held today, there is no way Thomas Weeks III, Clarence McClendon ect would have ever been put into that office.
Jakes book on NPR was “mama made the difference”. During that interiew he also denied that practicing homosexuals would go to hell. We know what Rev 21:8 says, but he has overriden that scripture also. After all he is the “bishop”. Pray for Orlando. TBN purchased the “Holy Land” attraction. They’ve already set up the studio for broadcasting. I’m sure this means we can expect an influx of heretics, false apostles and teachers to the Orlando area.

Well, it goes to show that Rome never fell. Neither did Sodom and Gomorrah spiritually. Look around you and I didn’t say turn to your neighbor. Jakes knows that homosexuality is a sin, but he is helping society to uplift the movement by making sissies out of boys and men, by uplifting the woman. He is the same man that said that Ruth and Naomi were borderline dykes in the book of Ruth. I have lost total admiration for the man, after I found out what he stands for. I realize now that we are not to look to man. Is this America, Rev 18:1-24?

Jakes just acts like Revelation 21:8 does not exists and claims “oh I don’t know, the Laud is gonna work it all out” when he needs to sell a few more books. Of course the response depends on who he is marketing merchandise to.

I tried to watch that episode of Dr. Phil earlier this evening with Jakes co-hosting. I couldn’t make it through but half the show before I had to change the channel. Going into it, I knew Jesus was probably never going to be mentioned, but it was so much more disheartening than that watching Jakes capitulate and spout New Age-y tripe every moment he was on camera. Sad, sad, indeed…
Yet from hearing my wife’s reaction, and overhearing her discussing what she saw with her other church friends over the phone, I can say that eyes are being opened through all of this. THAT’S what we have to be thankful for in all of this!
Dr. Phil was on TBN with Jakes hosting a couple of weeks ago to promote Jakes’ upcoming appearance on his show. Dr. Phil was very open about professing his Christianity on TBN. I also saw him and his wife Robin on the “Life” show on TBN hosted by James Robison and his wife. Both Dr. Phil and Robin credited their Christian faith for keeping their marriage and family strong.
It’s a shame Christians can go on Christian talk shows and talk about Jesus, but on secular television, which most people watch, the name of Christ rarely, if ever, is spoken. How could Jakes, a minister of the Gospel, be a guest on a nationally televised show for an hour and not mention Jesus?

I have a problem with churches where the Pastor makes a grand entrance gets praise etc. I respect man but I worship only God.
I have a problem with it too, Redman. But it’s practically church standard that pators make an entrance somewhere near the end of praise and worship, just before service begins as if he doesn’t have to praise and worhip God himself. …burns me up. When the crowd stands to applaude him I sit in silence protest.

Good to see the blog refreshed!! I’ve looked at the pics and all I can say is mmmmm, mmmmm, mmmmmm—the church is in a severe state of disarray. The church is supposed to be about discipling, and community. Not who has the biggest edifice, the shiniest chandeliers, and highest ceilings! When Christ comes back, he’s not coming back for buildings–HE’S COMING BACK FOR US!

The problem lies in the fact that most people have this distorted vision of some imaginary Jesus Who just wants us to be happy and give us all a Holy bear hug.(I’m not saying that you have this issue,just that most of the heathen and sadly MOST of the church does).
If you tell folks to love others as Jesus loved them these days, they are going to assert a Christ of their own imagination. WWJD is not a viable option in a stone cold ignorant church that really has no idea what He did or how He loved us.
Jesus was EXCORIATING in His denouncements of false teachers, and so were the Apostles and prophets. And, THAT was absolutely LOVING. Most folks that pass through here cannot see that. Jesus was about Truth and Love. You have to admit that most people want the Love but won’t accept the Truth.

Melvin I disagree about Darryl being angry. He sounds like someone who has been hurt over and over by those who claimed to be Christians but really were wolves in sheep’s clothing. And just like Pharaoh he has hardened his heart and embraced his pain instead of looking to God for the truth. What he sees as disagreement on what the bible says is just another lie that the devil is whispering in his ear to keep him from hearing the truth. In reality the disagreement he sees is the fact that like all families when we see someone who is going down a path that will hurt them we are bound by the spirit to caution them to implore them to stop looking at others for their answers and to seek their help from the comforter. The devil knows very well that people will look at our lives first before they will ever pick up a bible and few are able to see past their pains to do so. While he sees denominations (Baptist, AME, Methodist) as religions which they are not, very few have taken the time to explain to him they are all the same (at least that was the intent when they were instituted) unlike Islam, Mormon or Jehovah’s witnesses. The devil knows that if he can keep the mud over the eyes of the unsaved he can keep their souls. And people like Darryl are too hurt to see past that. They have never honestly asked God who he was outside of what stuff he will give them thanks to people like C.A. Dollar, Junie B, Kenneth Copeland, et al. These false preachers will one day have to look into the eyes of those unsaved like Darryl and explain why they lied to him and were instrumental in making his heart hard towards God. These evil people have taught that people can make god into what they want him to be instead of who he is. They have taught a god who cares nothing for them outside of how much money they can give. They have presented a god who cannot be reached and who spits on us if we are not perfect. They have not taught why Jesus was born, lived and how he lived, what he did and why he died and rose again. They don’t teach that there is nothing we can do to gain salvation or to get free ourselves. They don’t teach that to humble ourselves takes more courage and faith than getting up and jumping and shouting because we got a new car that we can’t pay for. It takes must more to stop trying to save ourselves and fall on our faces because God revealed himself to us. That is what he can’t understand yet.
I have read this blog several times. I need the help of Melvin Jones and other faithful bloggers. Once we submit to our lives to the Lord Jesus Christ and make Him the King of our lives, are we then entitled to ask Him to assist us in areas of our life that need adjustments? I have been reading Deut 8:1-14 and John 15:7 and I am curious if my DADDY the almighty will bless me beyond measure because of my obedience, because of my abiding by His commandments. Bloggers will I be a sheeple or materialistic like the pimps in the pulpit?
