If I am correct, Jeremiah Wright spoke against…

He said, “God d*** America.”, can you square this against Romans 13? Given he treats rich White America like his enemy, he’s a real “love your enemies” kind of guy saying things like that!

He said, “We (the U.S. of K.K.K) started the AIDS virus. …” Can you square this against basic human logic and fact?

He said, “Black men turning on black men – that is fighting the wrong enemy. You are both primary targets in an oppressive society that sees both of you as a dangerous threat.”

Can you square that against Colossians 3:11.

Notice J. Wrong places “enemy” in terms of race NOT SCRIPTURE, NOT ENEMIES OF THE CROSS. HE’S FRIENDS WITH ENEMIES OF THE CROSS LIKE FARRA-THE-CON!!!

I could go on with his statements, but you’re standing with a nut case.

Why is it that those who speak out on racial injustice called haters and racists?

The people speaking against racial hatred are the people speaking against J. Wrong.

Jeremiah Wright should have said those things in another forum.

And where is it good for anyone who claims the Lord’s name to say the statements from him I’ve cited above?

You’re trying to act like because someone said a foul word (like with a Stand Up meeting) that we should not note J. Wrong and even stand with him, when J. Wrong has not denounced his own evil statements. Perhaps if J. Wrong were to admit his wrong and step away from the devil in his mouth we could talk about backing off warning about him. What scripture do you use for your foundation for this statement? He claims the LORD’S NAME. Do you think perhaps we can square J. Wrong’s anger with Acts 7:54-60?

The Spirit of God made us all of one blood. Race is not spiritual issue, since men’s spirits HAVE no race. Therefore, if you make a distinction between races (distinctions that exist ONLY in the flesh) you are not in the Spirit, because you oppose the Spirit’s revelation on the subject. You are carnal, living in the flesh, and in opposition to the Spirit.

Rom 8:5 For they that are after the FLESH do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
Rom 8:6 For to be carnally minded [is] death; but to be spiritually minded [is] life and peace.

Those who oppose the teaching of Scripture to play the race card are carnal, and unable to live in peace, as we see from such individuals as Jeremiah Wrong. Those who ignore the sins of their own lineage (which includes a rich heritage of slaveholding and selling, BTW) to point their fingers at the sins of others are carnal and deny the Gospel that condemns EVERY man as equally sinful before a Holy God.

Those who cannot forgive the sins of others in light of their own sins and those of their own lineage set themselves up for judgment.

Mat 6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
Mat 6:15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

It’s a sad state of affairs when those who claim Jesus Christ choose to live in the flesh (regardless of its color) rather than the Spirit, and to mind the things of this world rather than the things of God. It’s a sad state when those who have been forgiven so very much refuse to extend that Grace to others. Think on the Words of Christ……..

However, I don’t like to throw scripture because I see it misused by many to promote self serving agendas that are “not” in the pulpit…Righter has a profound fear of the Lord and doesn’t play with the Bible…I used it for edification of others, not to tear others apart, which happens more often than not.

If I am correct, Jeremiah Wright spoke against that what you said, white supremacy and racism. So, if white supremacy is wrong and “is” wrong, why is it “wrong” for him or anyone else to speak about it?

On the other hand, I will honestly admit that after careful study that has been suggested from this blog, Jeremiah Wright should have said those things in another forum. In like manner, he should have refrained from using profanity and could have worked on his tone. But, even we know that many pastors do this, as was shown about a month ago during a telephone conference at Standup Ministry. So, I don’t think a person should be condemned like Cain for sounded stupid; we all do at times! lol

You see, some problems seem to “never” go way.

I tell you the truth, history is being made before our very eyes and I am glad these things are coming out in the open because trust me, what he said publicly is being said in many private circles, and applies to both races in regards to the other.

Now IC, there are a couple of dynamics going on but the media is meshing them together because, I believe, this to be the year that America sees something that it has never seen before, a woman or African American president. I’m southern and I have some “country” ways and I have to tell you that I don’t think McCain has a chance because like my late, great grandmother used to say, “he just don’t look right and he sound funny” lol

But, this ain’t even about who I want to win; it is about the significance of the events…

I strongly believe that. Jeremiah Wright is the scapegoat that is being used to discredit Obama because these conversations occur every day…This is how politics go. Now, you say, those comments do not speak for your situation and you may be right. However, there are countless others that feel differently. I don’t, I’ve pushed all of the right buttons and I have enjoyed a career that is both wonderful and rewarding. As such, I am “removed” from many of the things that others in my community ate impacted by.

Thus, my testimony is crucial as to where I was so that others that are where I was will have hope of a better tomorrow, but not by “name and claim it” but by Christian living, hard work and dedication.

If you remember, I started coming to this board because I was a “member” of Empowerment Temple. I joined because I believed, and maybe falsely, that the church had an obligation to assist the poor and downtrodden. Well, say what you will, but I have seen the good that was done to help more people in that place than any church that I have ever been, and I have been (member and attendee to many). I left because of the pastor’s adultery-I have a 21 year old daughter and would be highly upset if…

BUT–I will not tell you that I would not stand with Jamal the activist-although I won’t stand with Jamal-the pastor. My opinion of him has not changed in this regard. I think he has sexual demons that he must bring under submission, but I believe that we all have some things in life that need to be washed. Not excusing bad behavior at all.

So–I am sort of in a bind right now because of what it is that I do which is to try to help “people”. Now, you say, “which people”? I will have to say that my work mostly involves African Americans. Please don’t go on the “Righter hates white folks” road; I am so sick of that one that I don’t know what to do!! But, I am a social activist and this is not even my day job!! The community work that I do has absolutely nothing to do with my chosen career. However, I take what I have learned to give back.

I have had training in African and African American Culture, which means that most of my work is done in that community. But that does not rule or speak out about others. When I write, I try to do in a manner that people will think about what they say because it can impact others in ways unimaginable. I have said from the first day of visiting this board that preacher/member bashing is verbal abuse. I am thankful that not much of it occurs any more and the many of us (not all-:-)–have moved on and can at least be civil to one another.

When I look at people like Jeremiah Wright, I try to look at the whole picture and not just a part. Granted, he has some communication issues but the things he spoke about are not a fantasy but are very real to many people.

I think it is time that we stop trying to “avoid” talking about racial issues because the divide keeps widening. Moreover, I think that the problems are so many that they need to be addressed for resolution. But when they are spoken of, it’s called racism! Thus, America is asking for a code of silence, we all know the problems exist, we acting pretend they don’t or either choose to ignore it because it doesn’t directly impact us. And once again, it is cool. But don’t try to muzzle the people that see things differently.

When varying races refuse to engage in honest dialog, they remain separate. I am very thankful for every thing in this campaign because every day, a new door opens…

Righter is going to start blogging for a living because this seems to be the only thing that I have done for the last week!
