Just to be a little more in depth on HOW to give a tenth of your Life try the following ;
1)Your Time - try spending about 10% of the day in communication with GOD… talk about anything! I am sure He would LOVE to have that much time with you!
2)Your Resources - Yeppers, Give GOD 10% of that paycheck but don’t stop there! Give of the food you eat… Invite someone over your house once or twice a week.(Just a suggestions)
3) Your Life - Find a ministry that suits you and dig in! Make it a part of who you are.
4)Yours House - Make a prayer room… dedicate it to GOD and have it set aside as a place where you two can meet and just bask in each others presence. (MN: I assure you, God does not bask in our presence.)

I may sound a little fanatical… but just think of how fanatical Abram must have looked when he told his wife “GOD said for me to leave my fathers land and go to the place where he will send me to”… no directions… just GO! GOD honors those that Honor Him above all else… I hope I have explained this adequately. Be Blessed everyone… and most Importantly… BE A BLESSING!!

I finally woke up a few months ago by reading the above essay you spoke of to Kaben, and searching other ways to find the truth.

We were brain-washed real good not to believe anything anyone says outside of the church. That makes it a cult in my book…..

Be blessed and keep up the good work. If your site had not been here I would have kept on giving to the pimps so they could buy more jet fuel, Rolls Royces, body guards, vacation homes, mansions, ranches w/ exotic animals to hunt, etc.

P.S. I just asked TBN for my money back. They wrote back and said no, so I filed w/ the BBB in California and another site called Ripoff Report. Next I’m going to ask for my 10+ years of tithing and giving from Hagee….I’ll be able to pay off my bills…..hooray! The only reason I haven’t asked is b/c he has body guards and I’m scared……he could have me bumped off!

The site is hosed on so many levels I was tempted to not even put the reference out here. But I want people to see what really bad doctrine looks like and how far it is generally removed from valid Christian living and attitudes. )

Don’t you all know that Paula White and Steve Munsey has been running the Resurrection Seed scam for years on TBN? Whtie and Munsey feed on people that don’t study the Word of God for themselves and rely on those folks’ hard-earned money to keep their ministries running. I used to listen to Paula White all the time; and had been blessed by her ministry a long time ago. However, when she began dressing like the world, and using Bishop Jakes names continually in her messages instead of the name of Jesus, I knew something was not right. She was not using the Word of God to draw the people, she was using Bishop Jakes name; it got to the point where I just stopped watching her at all.

I see nothing wrong with giving tithes and offerings to my local House of God, however, when so-called Pastors are telling folks to not pay their rent and tithe instead; something is wrong with that picture. The Word of God says in the Book of Proverbs, “Wisdom is the principal thing.” Not paying your rent is not using any kind of wisdom at all.

I totally agree with “the reluctant geisha “, all pastors are not out to take all of your money to buy Mercedes or pay for their housing compound. I thank God for my pastors and would tell anybody like they tell us all the time, “study to show yourselves approved”. The saints need to turn off the television and study the Word of God so they are aware of what it actually says and doesn’t say.

I also thank God for Pastors that are led by the Lord in all that they do; and want us to be knowleable about The Word of God so we won’t be deceived by anybody.

I have to say, I’m a Christian, and I give cheerfully to my church and to God. But, I’m also blessed to go to a church where the preacher doesn’t spend 20 minutes telling me that if I don’t give my rent money in offering that God will be sad. *POUT*

It does say that we should not rob GOD. It says that we should offer our firstfruits. The bible ALSO says we should be cheerful givers, not out of duress or necessity, but cheerful in our giving.

So… I did all this rambling to say that not every preacher is out to make you pay for his Mercedes or housing compound with a tennis court and swimming pool.

I thank God for that every day.

So You can defend the Wolves if you want, but just know that as long as people stay under their corrupt doctrines, they will be led down a road of destruction, remember the Word of God says ” Bad tree bears bad fruit,” Mathew 7: 17. “You will know them by their fruits,” Mathew 7:16. Just because the wolves have a large church and a famous name does not make them men of God or God’s annoited. Last, these wolves are loved by the WORLD and the Lord said “If you were of the world, the world would love its own.” John 15:19.

Unlike you, we are sure the false teachers are FALSE, because the Lord had us read scripture for ourselves and showed us they are not His and are NOT hearing His voice.

Regarding Peter, Jesus said he would build His church on the truth that He is the Christ and Son of the living God, not on a man. People who pull Matthew 16:18 to claim it was Peter ignore what Peter said in Matthew 16:16 and what the Lord said in Matthew 16:17. If the Lord claimed Peter is the rock on which the church stands, do we stand on a rock of Satan? Consider Matthew 16:23. Nobody playing up Peter as the cornerstone ever mentions that after their twist of a scripture Jesus turned to Peter and used the title “Satan”.

You can’t grasp that Jesus was speaking about the spiritual truth and then lie of words spoken by Peter, not saying Peter himself is the cornerstone and not saying Peter himself is Satan either.

Also, the term for Peter’s name was not the same term used when Christ said “rock”. If you are the Lord’s, learn more and study the history of scripture you probably will learn this one day.

Isaiah knew Peter is not the stone on which the church stands, see Isaiah 28:16. And Peter knew the words of the prophet Isaiah and knew he was not the cornerstone, but Christ. Read what Peter said himself in 1 Peter 2. We saints are living stones, however, the cornerstone on which the Lord built His church is Himself.
