I love these guys and gals! They always have a slick and pseudo-biblical way to separate you from your hard earned cash. And if your family takes a hit, no problem.
A reader drew my attention to Fast Eddie and his annual scheme. Just out of curiosity, wondering if Paula Pimpette was still doing her first fruits thing, I hopped over to her site. It turns out that she has changed up and at the moment is cashing in on a Passover/Easter scam.
But first , Fast Eddie, the man who made upwards of three million dollars from a charitable organization he “managed.”
Fast Eddie wants you to commit to a “Tabernacle Offering.” What is, according to Fast Eddie, the Tabernacle Offering? Take a look at Exodus 25:1-9 (the pamphlet says Exodus 24, but I think they got in such a hurry to get this marketing device out that they failed to check the reference). It says:
Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “Tell the sons of Israel to raise a contribution for Me; from every man whose heart moves him you shall raise My contribution. “This is the contribution which you are to raise from them: gold, silver and bronze, blue, purple and scarlet material, fine linen, goat hair, rams’ skins dyed red, porpoise skins, acacia wood, oil for lighting, spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense, onyx stones and setting stones for the ephod and for the breastpiece.
From this reference, Fast Eddie tries to convince the poor stupid sheeple that they should:
· Make a pledge to make a yearly offering
· That the yearly offering be sacrificial
· Allow God to speak to them about creative ways to increase their Tabernacle offering
· That it is over and above their regular tithes and offerings
· That they make the House (that building over which Fast Eddie presides) debt free
· That the sacrificial offering be for $5,000, $2500, $1000, or (if you have no faith) for something less.
The reason they should give this sacrificial offering? According to the pamphlet it is so:
· Rise up and possess the Kingdom
· Walk in our God-given dominion and authority
· The Newbirth organization can be debt free
· All the believers can own their own homes
· All the believers can be debt free
Riddle me this Batman. If I give sacrificially, how, exactly am I supposed to pay the bills like electric, water, and telephone? How am I supposed to take care of my family with some wisdom? He says the sheeple should include everybody in the family in presenting the gift (which is above and beyound the money he has already mangaed to take from them). Apparently this family thing is a good way of beating down the next generation and getting them prepared to practice a religion that is completely lacking in the development of critical thinking skills.
A question for you: if Fast Eddie wants the sheeple to give sacrificially (and I suppose that means to give more than I can easily afford), then as the sheeple herder, is he going to give sacrificially as well? Let’s see, if he can afford to buy a 1.2 million dollar house, and drive a $100,000 car, then sacrificial for him must be in the hundreds of thousands. What do you think are the odds that he is going to give anything at all, much less tens of thousands of dollars?
Not to be outdone, Paula Pimpette is hitting the sheeple up using a new scam. It’s the “One and Only, Guaranteed to Make You Blessed Seven Different Ways” Program. Click here to take a look at the image from their web-site. Then decide if you want to cry like Donnie Swaggart, get angry, or just go outside and scream at the wind for a couple of minutes.
According to Paula if you give them a $77 love offering, God will:
1. Assign an angel to you. Of course, if you give more than $77 the angel will actually have wings and a sword instead of a Schwinn single speed and a sharp stick. With an additional contribution, the angel will be provided with a flaming sword.
2. Be an enemy to your enemies. However, if you give less, he’ll be an enemy to your friends too.
3. Give you Prosperity , that’s the cat named “Prosperity.” God is having a clearance on pets this week and is looking for any excuse to give cats and dogs away.
4. Take sickness away from you. That’s right; He pays for a bodyguard named “Bruno” for you. And if anybody with the sniffles gets within ten feet of you, Bruno will body slam them and toss them out of the room
5. Give you a long life. But then again, if you give less than the $77, He’ll give you a fit of the stupids. You won’t die; you just have a bad accident and spend the rest of your long life in a wheel chair.
6. Bring increase and inheritance , that’s right, you’ll get rich and relatives you never knew you had will be crawling out of the woodwork.
7. Give a special year of blessing , With the $77 you don’t have to see your mother-in-law all year. Ah, but anything less, and your mother-in-law’s house will burn down and she will have to move in with you. And that angel He assigned to you will make sure you don’t off the poor woman.
I’ll think I’ll pass on this particular appointment with God. I’d rather go and take care of the root canal I have scheduled for this coming Monday.
Melvin– loved the cartoon, thats the same way I feel when I get my pay stub– like I got fleeced!! I always enjoy your postings Melvin–keep up the great work and God bless always! By the way– if I send you the $77.00 what do I get?
Melvin, Your cartoon of that pick pocket scam artist Paula White is so true! I emailed her so-called ministry today, and asked her who lifted her face, because it certainly was’nt Jesus!
You know, it is so sad really that so many people buy into this thievery. These pimps and pimpettes are the lowest of the low. They take advantage of the stupid, desperate, crazy, and lonely! Thanks for getting the truth out here!
Shut up!! Get saved!!
My, my, Anonymous………”Shut up!! Get Saved!!”
Did you think of that all by yourself?? Well done. How shall we ever recover from so scathing and witty an attack??
are u serious how can u say those things about some one u hardly know……… i believe in giving . if u dnt feel led of God dnt do it so many people point out other peoples flaws rather then dealing with their struggels and what not no one is perfect ok so if u are not a christian or a fallower of christ u should know that God loves u truely he does dnt wait till the last moment to rely on him ok
and any one else who is reading this i jst want to say that it dsnt mattr wut u do or say to try to hurt juanita bynum or benny hin or PaULA WHite Because Gods got their back ok God Blesss u and Jst try out God u will b a lot happyer
(MN: No one is dealing with their flaws. We are addressing their doctrine. I don’t know what the struggles of most of these people are. I can only address what they teach.
I’m not at all sure of the rest of what you said. )
Cristi, can you please enter your comment again in English?
Thank you.
So now we have to bribe God with cash to bless us?
For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and acknowledgment of God rather than burnt offerings. Hosea 6:6
With what shall I come before the LORD and bow down before the exalted God? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old? Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousand rivers of oil? Shall I offer my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:6-8
But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ Matthew 9:13
Rshol………..”Bribe” is such an ugly word. Try to think of it as “Protection Money”. You know, like the Mob.
You send in your “seed”, then the Lord won’t “Zap” you with poverty, or sickness.
BUT…………you know what happens when you MISS a payment. He’ll make you an offer you can’t refuse.
use common sense dummy, and read your Bible…God is not like the repo man that took your car because you failed to pay your tithes and now you are behind in your bills…be realistic!
tjohn……….whom were you addressing??
BTW, the “God As Repo Man”………or to be more precise, “God As The Repo Man ENABLER”(since God ALLOWS the Repo Man to come get your stuff UNLESS you tithe) is PRECISELY the image these pimps push.
How often have we been told that unless we tithe, we are under THE CURSE (ooooooo….), and the devil’s is either gonna come and get your stuff, or keep God’s stuff away from you??
From Creflo’s own website….”Tithing protects you from the devourer and opens the windows of heaven.
1. Tithing is divine insurance.
1. When you tithe, God will rebuke the devourer (Satan) and prevent him from destroying anything in your life (Malachi 3:11).
1. If you experience frequent car breakdowns, loss or sickness, the devourer could be at work in your life.
2. Tithing is your insurance against harassment from the devourer.”
Hmmmmmmm…..sounds like unless you tithe God lets the Repo Man get your stuff, don’t it??
Kenneth Copeland “The Tithe………Is It For Today?”
“Tithing activates the blessing of God in your finances. Read Malachi 3:10-12. There God promises that when you tithe, He’ll rebuke the devil and command him to keep his hands off your finances (God’s keepin’ the Repo Man away again!!!). And that promise is as good today as it ever was because when God rebukes the devil, he stays rebuked! ”
If you have a mind to, you can find the pimps’ books and websites littered with such pronouncements.
I cannot believe how people get fooled with the whole “tithing” thing and enable these televangelists to make loads of money. Sowing your seed in biblical times may have meant an entirely different thing than writing out a check or using your credit card. If anyone wants to see the fraud behind all this, they should check out the documentary “The Many Faces of Benny Hinn.” In one scene, after all the checks and cash are retrieved from the envelopes, the prayer requests that were inside the envelopes are thrown on the floor and swept into the garbage. When Benny Hinn was questioned about this, he claimed he knew nothing about it and that he would fire the people who did this!
i’m confused. doesn’t the bible state in malachi 3 that if you don’t tithe you are cursed? and what of luke 8:1-3 that mentions the women and “many others” that supported Jesus’ ministry with “their substance”. or paul’s admonition to give. i can get with you if you have a legitimate issue. but what is non-biblical about tithes and offerings? please explain WITHOUT attacking me OR the ministries mentioned. can you EXPLAIN your position in a fair and intellectual manner without ATTACKS. because i tithe based on what the bible says and the financial changes that have been made evident in my life because of it. can you tell me why i’m not supposed to tithe. will ANYONE answer this question honestly, fairly and without malice? because if you cannot, you come off like a bunch of men who get together to ******* out of jealousy. (and the few women who have posted).
(MN: Read the paper linked to at the top of the column to the right [Various Essays]. It addresses several aspects of tithng and, in fact, explicitly addresses the reference to Malachi. It doesn’t attack any one and it doesn’t depend on experience to confirm an interpretation. Before you go on much more, read it and then tell me what I got wrong. By the way, I hope you are not a professing Christian with a potty mouth like that. )
yes i’m a christian. ******* is in the dictionary.
(MN: So are a bunch of other words Christians should avoid using. But I suspect you know that. )
and i will read the essay in the morning. it’s my bedtime.
and two more questions. myles munroe and noel jones also preach whole life prosperity. why have you not “tried” to dissect their teachings. and lastly, how do you explain away the difference tithing makes in the life of the “sincere” believer?
(MN: So my approach is invalid unless I write about all of them? Rather than distract with who I am not dissecting, evaluate the dissections that I do perform. If Noel “The Weasel” Jones and Myles do and say the same things, then it only makes sense to stay away from them as well. I don’t talk about the penny ante store front Big Dog Pimp Wannabee either. However, I do help those who may attend their churches recognize the bad doctrine and technique typical to the Big Dogs and the Big Dog wannabees. )
still hadn’t got around to reading that essay. had actually forgotten about this website. just read your comments. you can call preachers pimps but you’re offended by the word ********, which is in the dictionary as a female dog or to whine and complain. how “holy” of you (notice dripping sarcasm). you have enough time on your hands to devote your life to cultivating a website devoted to tearing down Christians - and by the way - the Bible tells us to correct in love, to discern, to study and show yourself approved - nowhere does it say “put up a website devoted to tearing down other Christians 24-7 so that all who glimpse it will think ‘hey, this negro has no life’ or ‘Christians are as screwed us as everybody else.’ if you want to get Biblically correct - you, my brother, are in ERROR. further, if you read my post, i was simply curious as to why you had not “attacked” munroe and jones. i don’t need to distract from anything you do. your motives are quite clear. your fruit is loud and clear. were your motives righteous, there would be dissent without venom. but you ooze venom. we are supposed to be known by our love. i ain’t feelin’ no love up in here. you remind me. . .
oh yeah - jealous negro ******* and whines. fellow crabs in the barrel join in. same ole same ole.
I’d suggest you read the paper. It might actually answer some of your questions. It’s one thing to understand what a person is saying and present your own case. It’s quite another to simply say the other person is wrong without presenting your case as well. As it is you are doing nothing more than whining and complaining. Anybody can do that, saved, unsaved, anybody.
By the way, how do you know what I do in my supposedly plentiful spare time?
Why read the paper?? That would force kaben to THINK and READ the Word. Can’t have that……….where would the pimps be if folks like kaben started reading the Word and learning how to divide Scripture??
Now THAT would be REALLY unloving to the pimps
Matthew 7:6
okay. probably my last post because this is so tired. i’m not whining. i’m not the one that has a multi-page website dedicated to my whining. to Gary V. i’ve actually read “the word” cover to cover. have you? if you had you wouldn’t be on here echoing marvin melvin or whoever he is. and M, you want my case.
(MN: It’s really kind of amusing watching as you try to belittle the efforts of the site. Oh, and you know, David Koresh not only read the Word from cover to cover, he also memorized huge portions of it. But he still thought he had a right to have sex (he called it an anointing) with little preteen girls. Reading the Bible cover to cover doesn’t mean anything. Understanding it and applying it is what counts (. )
let me state my case. i myself turned to tbn about 10 years ago and listened to what various ministers were preaching and wondered if they spoke truth or if they were hustling. i ended up watching bishop long regularly but never wanted to visit the church. too large. too much traffic. grew up in a “traditional” church and new birth was too “non-traditional” for me to be a member. ended up visiting one sunday after having watched long for a few years. from the very first visit, Long not speaking, not even in the building, God speaks to specific issues that my spouse and i had just discussed the previous morning. visit again the next sunday. same thing happens, totally different issue. continues to happen. (has happened so much now i no longer count).
(MN: I truly understand the power of your experience. But having said that, I have to reiterate that it is exactly that, an experience. The primary characteristic of experience is that you can’t use it to determine truth, even when what it says is partially true. An example is the woman with the spirit of divination [Acts 16:16-18]. The truth was being spoken, but that did not change the character of the spirit of divination. The Bible teaches against divination and communications with spirits [Lev 19:26; 1 Sam 15:23; 2 Kings 21:6 and others]. Though she was saying something that was true, that she had no way of knowing, her “ministry” was rejected because she was not true to Scripture. We are to rightly divide the word of Truth [2 Tim 2:15]. This cannot be done if we measure the word against our experiences. Peter, who had the ultimate experience here on earth of seeing the Lord transfigured [Mark 9:1 - 4], in referring to it later [2 Pet 1:19], said that the Word of God is more sure. The Scriptures are the standard by which experiences are measured. Eddie Long says things that are not consistent with Scripture. He does things that are not consistent with Scripture. The occurrence of signs and wonders in the building at the hands of him and others doesn’t negate the violations of Scripture. )
next thing. the presence. i have never felt the Lord’s presence as strongly as i have felt it at new birth. don’t mean nice little goose bumps. multiple times, different feeling. strongest feeling one sunday 3 years ago in january, john bevere visiting speaker. at the close of bevere’s teaching we pray. the Holy Spirit moves through the building like a slow moving freight train. i feel a wall of heat, electricity and power coming to my right - i can feel it coming. as it moves over and through me, all i can feel is God’s goodness. never will forget this. other times i have felt other things. one sunday, during worship it literally felt like i was being hugged. Murphy (worship leader) says, “was it just me or did you guys felt like you were being hugged”.
(MN: Again, despite the exhilaration, this is an experience, and one you are allowing you to suspend or draw back from a Bible based discernment. Experience is not the standard of truth. The Bible is. )
i could type on this for awhile but i’ll move on to other testimony. when my spouse and i had been praying and agonizing over whether to tithe, as we were in debt, God settled this issue. one sunday, i had a $30 check that i had received from a relative. i endorsed it over and put it in the offering. after service was over, a young lady comes up to me from about 4 rows behind and says, “God told me to give this to you.” it was $40 cash. i was speechless and have never seen her again. my spouse became unemployed and we continued to tithe. due to unemployment that lasted for about 4 months, the home goes into foreclosure. we tried everything to save the home, short sale, bankruptcy, everything. this battle lasted many months during which bishop long kept stating, some of you are trying to hold on to something that God is trying to strip you of. long story short. the same week that the home was foreclosed on we moved into a brand new home. a bigger home in a better neighborhood in the same school district.
(MN: At the risk of sounding repetitious, experience does not ace the Bible. It is certainly possible that I am misunderstanding the Bible, but regardless, the Bible stands alone. At the moment, at least with respect to the issue of tithing, you are measuring the Bible by your experience rather than the experience by the Bible. What ever the circumstances were that got you into the new house, the Bible doesn’t really support the idea of tithing (according to the Biblical model, not simply giving 10 percent of your income to a church organization) making the Christian prosperous. )
so this is MY point. you are basically preaching to a choir. a choir of fellow disgruntled biblical illiterates who preach the letter of the law minus the spirit motivated by jealousy and not love. anyone who has felt God’s presence or seen His power in their lives while sitting under these very ministers that you tear down ain’t trying to hear ya.
(MN: You have used experience to support your position. Since you have accused me of being Bible illiterate, and I have attempted to address the issue of tithing from Scripture, please take a look at the essay and tell me where this Bible illiterate tearer downer of anointed men of God has gone wrong. But please use the Bible to support your position, not your experiences. )
why do you think that these ministers have congregations over 25,000 and 30,000 people - sitting in traffic, hearing people call them cultists? (MN: Because they say things people like to hear. ) do you really think that people would go through that if God were not moving in their lives. most people won’t even get up and go to church for a good “sermon” or good “sanging” or just from the fear of going to hell. so who is gonna put up with all that (traffic, rumors) if God has not shown them that He is. i did not “experience God” in churches that i went to before New Birth. (MN: but this is just the point. One doesn’t experience God to begin with. Rather, a person reflects the character of God in his or her life. And this comes by faith, not by an experience, no matter how pleasant the experience is. )
but i’m sure that a multitude of new birth members, potters house members and the like could line up and give you testimony, lay hands on you and worship you into his manifested presence and you would still continue with this crusade swearing that “da Lawd” told me ta do it. (MN: Here is one of the results of an experiential approach. You use terms as if they have actual Biblical meaning. What does “His manifested presence” mean. And how do your worship someone into that presence? You are allowing your experience to determine your theology )
Jesus Himself could probably tap you on the shoulder and say “lay off, I’ve anointed these men” and you would probably say “but Jesus let me tell you what they are doing!” (MN: This is not a very good argument. The fact is, Jesus wouldn’t tell me that. This, again, is the very issue. Is Eddie Long obedient to Scripture? Is Noel Jones an orthodox Christian? Your scenario assumes the truth of what you are saying. ) that’s is why i probably won’t read your essay. you never addressed my earlier post regarding correcting in love, discernment and studying to show yourself approved (as opposed to studying to show myself superior). (MN: Correction is not always gentle, any more than Jesus’ corrections were always gentle, especially when he was dealing with the religious men who were misleading the very people they were sent to nurture and disciple. You err to assume that correction, in love, is supposed to be touchy feely. )
that tells me that you don’t HEAR. you just speak. so you keep on if you so choose. but i dare you to earnestly seek God and pray about whether you have been appointed to point your finger. (MN: And I dare you to earnestly seek God and pray about whether or not you should read the essay. But based on your apparent fondness of experiences, you will probably have a touch of heartburn that will convince you not to. ) in the words of a Great man of God:
“we raise all kinds of hell to change what happens in church for 2 hours and raise no hell to change the world that we deal with daily. the church belongs to Jesus. He gave us the world to change.”
(MN: No, according to Jesus, He said: I have given them Thy word [not an experience] and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.] No idea of changing the world here. We are here to tell others about Jesus Christ. It is His job to take others like us out of the world.
At this point, I don’t expect you to read the paper. You have far too much at stake to do so. However, You have, I believe, proven to be an excellent visual aid. You have clearly argued several of the teachings that enable the pimps to keep people bound to them and separated from God. I hope you continue to visit and even comment. Because with each comment you get to hear the truth a little more and people get to see the very real and clear danger these men present to the Christian community. )
oh. and i forgot to mention this: during group prayer at new birth, my two sisters who smoked for two decades were immediately delivered from this addiction; after bishop long offered prayer for healing at new birth, i was healed of a chronic condition. i have a brother that was going through divorce. bishop long laid hands on him. the Holy Spirit went over him and he hit the floor (this brother was not a church goer or member). an elder stood over him prophesying his exact situation. (no knowledge, did not and does not know my brother). several family members from out of state have come to visit and attended services where their mail has been read (preaching to exact circumstances in their lives). at a certain point, you cannot claim coincedence. you either acknowledge the presence or the Holy Spirit as evidenced by fulfilled prophecy, healing, deliverance, etc. or you continue to walk in blindness. as i said before, i’m sure that you will not consider that you could be wrong about some of these people because your pride will not allow it. but those of us who have run smack dab into the Holy Spirit while visiting churches that we never intended to set foot in initially, will continue to chase after God and leave the pharisees and the sadducees such as yourself to continue to “wax theological” marinating in the bitter juices of your jealousy. hey, maybe that’s why your computer is tripping. maybe it’s trying to tell you something. (i’m sure you won’t post this testimony or my other one) God bless you my brother.
why did you write that dissertation on my previous comments but nothing to the healings. (MN: Forgive the oversight. Both God and Satan can heal. God can heal despite valid doctrine. You can’t base your walk on an experience. Revelation points out that the anti-christ perfroms miracles, but he’s still the anti-christ. And all of the apostles demanded we trust the word as I pointed out with Peter. ) i suspected you would go there. experience vs. the word. paul “experienced” Jesus on the road to damascus. (MN: But once he recovered, he began to study the Word as a born again Christian to verify the experience )further, the saints of the old testament did not have a “Bible”. (MN: But we do. His experience was not not the norm. ) so does that negate Abe’s “experience” with God, or Samuel hearing God call him, or Moses? and nothing that i have “experienced” has been contrary to the WORD. (MN: The things you have experienced may not be contrary to the word. I don’t believe I said they were. What I said is you are using the experience to form your understanding of scripture. You follow a man who associates with men who teach heresies. He teaches a variety of heresies. The Bible tells us to stay away from such men as Creflo. Your pastor disobeys that admonition. Regardless of what happens around him, he is still disobedient. ) i could stroke you a point in this discussion if you had one but i have testified to nothing that is contrary to the WORD. your arguments are clearly pride-based. (MN: Clearly based on what? You have yet to present anything other than your experience as a foundation. YOu have shown yourself unwilling to take part in a discussion centered around the Bible. ) you are just like the jews that could not see the messiah as He performed miracles in their midst. (MN: The Jews ignored the teaching of Scripture, the scripture that Jesus fulfilled. What Scripture am I ignoring and what scripture is Eddie Long fulfilling? ) you say that the ministers “say things that they like to hear”. long often steps on people’s toes but what keeps people coming back to new birth is God. (MN: I’ve heard his “toe stepping.” And from what I have heard on his broadcasts, there is no significant call to godly sorrow, to humility, to a willingness to experience persecution. None of the things I have heard in say in interview or from the pulpit indicate a man who is going in that direction. ) not the choir, not bishop long. you want a scripture. let me give you some. “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”
you deny the power of the presence of God as a mere subjective experience. (MN: No - I question your experience as purely subjective. You, on the other hand, assume that your experience is in fact a result of the “presence of God,” a term that seems to be cheapened by the way you and others use it. Take a look at the “presence of God” as discussed in the dedication of the new temple. No one could even stay in the building. Again, your experiences do not line up with Scripture, no matter how much you try to behave as though they do. ) i would never be so prideful as to elevate my intelligence above the power of God and tell someone that what they experienced in a church full of people calling on the name of Jesus “not buddha) as “just an experience” (MN: Hmmm. But you are prideful enough to discount what the Bible says in favor of your experience. Interesting. ) now if you call yourself a Christian and i told you i experienced God in a mosque, that’s one thing. but as a supposed bible-read (so you say) Christian you only illuminate your arrogance when you say that. “you ain’t felt God. that was what you wanted to feel.” how very arrogant. ” Thus you have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition.
Hypocrites! . . . ‘People draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines of God the commandments of men.” now will you explain away the healings that i mentioned as “just an experience” (MN: Already addressed it earlier in this response.) - continuing to tread on shaky ground as you attribute the work of the Holy Spirit to “my imagination? lastly, one day when i am very bored i may read your essay but i’m in no hurry to because i’ve read nothing to indicate to me that you have anything worth listening to.
people who have found out that God is full of power, mercy, and love - and is not a pharisaical God, want others to know that love. they want others to know that God cares, even about the details of their lives. they spend their time trying to pray and love and witness people into finding Him and finding out how AWESOME He really is. you have not discovered that God yet. your god is small. your god has no concern about us except what we get wrong. your god would never tell the thief on the cross that “today you will be with me in paradise because he would be too busy telling him everything that he has done wrong. your god does not care about the details of our lives. your god would never visit your church and wrap you up in his arms. your god is a god that i would be afraid to know if i happened across this site looking for “the Way, the Truth and the Light”.
or do you not realize that that is what you show people when they read or listen to you? a god that does not balance judgment with mercy; a god that does not balance correction with blessing; a god that does not care if i am sick or poor or sad. this, my brother, is the god that you show through this website. now, if you are REALLY a Christian, one that daily prays “may the thoughts of my heart and the words of my mouth be pleasing to you” OR “search me o God and know my heart, test me and know my thoughts and lead me along the path of righteousness” - if you EVER pray that and MEAN it, i dare you to ask God, the God of the old and new testament, not the one of your idolatry, ask Him if this site gives Him glory.
ask Him if this is what He wants from you or is this just an ego stroke for you? (meaning, let me show how much Bible i know - not realizing that you don’t fool the ones who know God and the bible - you do fool the “religious” folk though) God bless you and may you come to “EXPEREINCE” Him for yourself one day.
(MN: If anyone else wishes to continue this discussion with this spiritually arrogant fellow from Club Newbirth, be my guest. If you want to put the time into it you are welcome. I will continue to post is demonstrations of subjectivism as long as he wishes to post them. But I am not going to continue to discourse with him - wven when he responds this next time around with “Yeah - you know I’m right and you were silenced by the Holy Ghost power of my argument.” Have fun! )
oh yeah. i never said we are to change the world but we are to “go ye into the world and MAKE DISCIPLES” not go ye onto the internet and create a pimps in the pulpit website (that’s not in my bible, is it in yours). last time i read my bible the scripture said I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.” (John 17:14-15). type on oh prideful one. i’m out.
Matthew 7:13-29
you said - MN: But once he recovered, he began to study the Word as a born again Christian to verify the experience. - what makes you arrogantly assume that new birthers do not study the word? this one does. you state, MN: But we do. His experience was not not the norm. - “in the last days I will pour out my Spirit. . .” (not the MORM either). you said - MN: ” Both God and Satan can heal. God can heal despite valid doctrine. . . Revelation points out that the anti-christ perfroms miracles, but he’s still the anti-christ. And all of the apostles demanded we trust the word as I pointed out with Peter.” nowhere in the Bible do we see satan heal anyone. what we DO see is that when others attributed the work of God to Satan, Jesus had some strong words for them - first demonstrating the absurdity of Satan casting out his own servants. (matt. 12) yes “false prophets shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that if it WERE possible, they shall deceive the very elect.” IF IT WERE POSSIBLE. nowhere is there a scripture that states that satan can heal. (rev 12:14 does not say that)
you state - But you are prideful enough to discount what the Bible says in favor of your experience. Interesting. no. but i AM humble enough to ask God to show me the truth and realize that i am not God and do not know everything. you have made an idol of your pride and bible trivia acumen - elevating your interpretation of scripture above God’s power. i have yet to see an ounce of humility in you evidenced by even a mere admission that you could be wrong about anyone on your hit list. you have yet to back up your “ministry” with scripture (putting the ball of disobedience in your court). and please don’t try to tell me what long teaches when you judge by sound bites. don’t try to tell me about persecution. long is persecuted and so are we who belong to new birth (by people like you - no not as the persecuted church in gospel hostile nations but persecuted nonetheless).
one of the things that amazes me about God is how big He is. countless times i have studied a scripture or pondered a biblical point, only to show up at new birth and have the speaker (be it long or someone from another church) address specifically what i had pondered or studied that week or the day before. countless times i have had personal issues that God addressed from the pulpit in specific detail. now viewed through the narrow lens of your theology, that is not God but “my experience” not justified by bible (regardless of the fact that i mention bible study as the basis of this specific testimony).
good quote that i read: “I have learned that when the work of the Holy Spirit is rejected, what is left is religion, with all its lifeless pompousness (religiosity that Jesus condemned). That would be Pharisaic religion. It cannot heal. It cannot restore. It cannot refresh. It cannot grow. It cannot add others to the kingdom of God. All it can do is withdraw into itself, separated from the outside world, while it smothers what is truly real.” now this is what you do. how many have you drawn to God’s kingdom? few i would suspect.
i’ll leave you with this. you need not run and sick your minions on me. i am tired of this too because only God will open your eyes. and He will. SOON. you’re gonna run into Him and this website will be transformed. you will no longer use it to tear down ministries. you WILL use it to help build the kingdom. and all that bible knowledge you have amassed will be amped by the power of God for His purposes.
and by the way, i’m not a “fella”. i’m ALL WOMAN. blessings to you my brother and your beautiful new grandbaby. (MN: Thanks - he is cute, isn’t he? )
i forgot to include this:
“Another dramatic development is that many Muslims — including Shiites in Iran and Iraq — are seeing dreams and visions of Jesus and thus coming into churches explaining that they have already converted and now need a Bible and guidance on how to follow Jesus. This is the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy of Joel, ‘In the last days, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days. And everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved,’ ” (Joel 2:28-32).
various verbal and internet testimonies of muslims who have seen visions of Jesus and turned to Christ. but silly me, why include this. this would not relate to the prophecy from joel. as you stated earlier - that was just an “experience” that they WANTED and of the anti-christ even. Jesus would not want people to know him by revealing himself to them, he’d rather fool people who are trying to find God. i forgot, you wrote the bible mel. you’re right, i’m so naive. later.
(MN: Again, if any one else wishes to comment, they are certainly welcome to. I tire of her silly talking. But at least she used a Bible verse this time, even if ripped from its context.
By the way Kaben, do you have any documentation of these occurences or do we have to take your word and the word of pimps and shills like Fast Eddie, Benny Hinn, and others of their like for the reports? You show it as a quote. Where was it quoted from? What is the source?
Incidentlly, your sarcasm doesn’t work very well. It simply highlights the fact that you have yet to use the Bible to judge your experiences and have yet to engage me in a serious discussion using the Bible, not your feelings, as the standard. Your nastiness doesn’t change any of that.
As I said, you are free to comment as much as you wish. You are far too effective a visual aid for me to refuse bandwidth. I’ll trust people to use their judgment and ignore your postings if they wish to. )
OK, I’ll comment again, Matthew 7:6.
Melvin, remember, I went to Eddie Long’s club for over 7 years. I know someone not yet ready to come from such false teaching when I see it. She’s got the “goose bumps” man!!! You don’t need to open your Bible anywhere but where old hack John Bevere tells you to turn it when you’ve got “the bumps”
. I told you Melvin, that cat Bevere has been running game with Long for years.
THE FEAR OF THE LORD!!! As in, do what me and Eddie say or Gawwd is gonna get-cha!!!
She’s lost in emotion and the false teaching and you won’t make any headway. What you will do is waste time you could have spent doing lots of other things that you NEED to be doing.
But you can continue the dance with her if you like. In time, you’ll do what you should have done way back, but by dancing with her this long (no pun intended) you did give her a chance to offer her thoughts.
I have been a lurker. I decided to comment on this before I exit this board. I didn’t have a solid opinion before reading this exchange. Kaben’s questions and scripture references were heavy. But when you belittle a person’s personal exchange with God in favor of your opinion, that is too much for me. You appear then too arrogant to hear anyone else’s viewpoint. I have read in the bible that anyone who seeks the Lord must believe that He IS and is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. I think He would reward a seeker with His presence, among other things. To say that someone that felt God’s presence was emotional and imagining things - that’s too much for me. I will not waste my time here again. I think kaben has you pegged.
(MN: Try again. I didn’t belittle her experience in favor of my own experience. I belittled her conclusions, based on her experience as they compare to Scripture. And that is exactly what we are supposed to do. Unless you can show me otherwise? And where does it say that He will reward them with what she is calling His presence?
You are certainly free to think what you want. )
Hi Melvin,
I went to Hagee’s church for over 10 years & tithed and gave when I was on welfare & had to support 3 abused children alone. I got the “goose bumps” one Sunday when STeve Brock called out “peace just went through someone.” For years I thought that meant I should go to Cornerstone…baah! I got fleeced real good for a lot of years. I did get a job and off welfare, but it was b/c I taught myself how to use a computer and went out and got a job.
I finally woke up a few months ago by reading the above essay you spoke of to Kaben, and searching other ways to find the truth.
We were brain-washed real good not to believe anything anyone says outside of the church. That makes it a cult in my book…..
Be blessed and keep up the good work. If your site had not been here I would have kept on giving to the pimps so they could buy more jet fuel, Rolls Royces, body guards, vacation homes, mansions, ranches w/ exotic animals to hunt, etc.
P.S. I just asked TBN for my money back. They wrote back and said no, so I filed w/ the BBB in California and another site called Ripoff Report. Next I’m going to ask for my 10+ years of tithing and giving from Hagee….I’ll be able to pay off my bills…..hooray! The only reason I haven’t asked is b/c he has body guards and I’m scared……he could have me bumped off!
wow, i guess its easy to miss the obvious when its right under your nose. verses duly noted. To Messiah The First Fruit Offering.
Rod Parsley too! https://www.breakthrough.net/Resseed2007/index.asp
I planted my seed and got this very nice email:
Order ID: 2553435
Dear Mike,
Your Resurrection Seed offering of $ is a step of faith and a reflection of how you honor God, who gave His best for you on Easter. Thank you for planting your seed in the fertile soil of Breakthrough.
I believe God will reward your faithfulness, and I will lead an army of intercessors in prayer for your needs on Resurrection Sunday, April 8. This could be the start of the greatest harvest of miracles in your life!
This is not only the Resurrection Seed, but also our Year of Jubilee - when I believe miracles will continue to intensify. I thank God that you have chosen to be part of it, and I thank you again for planting your Resurrection Seed in faith.
If this is actually a letter for your seed offerring.
I find it very odd that this individual believes God will do certain things pertaining to giving. If these jokers really have a word, direction or instruction from God. They would know what God is going to do based upon your obediance. There are to many signs of unconfidence in this letter. It’s ashamed that they know better to believe the lies of their own mouths when the people who hear them don’t.
Would God have used the word “Easter?” And would God consider my best to be money? Just wondering. It seems like their lust for money has blinded them to the fact that not everyone sees like they do. If the best I can give God is money, the Kingdom is in trouble. If money means more to them than the heart, I feel sorry for their children.
its also troubling, that they never mentioned that Easter is significant because of the death and ressurection of Christ. Or did they miss that part in seminary?
WOW!! These pimpin preachers & prophetesses are getting bolder and bolder by the minute. I cannot believe that idiot Paula White promises that God will release these 7 insidious things. I think the church is getting dumber and dumber. It seems like even some of the world knows that these pimps are crazy but for some reason the church does not see. Praise GOD for opening our eyes. God Bless you Melvin, thanks for your hard work by keeping us posted on these modern heretics. Love you Brother.
i am convinced that these teachers do not know God and perhaps many may also be atheists (as marjoe) else, how could they make mockery of Jesus and His sacrifice by linking money with it. the blessings/favor of God are not for sale! simon thought that he could purchase the Holy Ghost (Acts 8: 18-21) and what these false teachers are encouraging their followers to do is similar. All this sowing stuff, sickens and saddens me.
i’m convinced that many are following “jesus” (not the True and Living God) simply for what they can get. they’re not interested in the Jesus that COMMANDS us (not answers to our decrees or formulas, or words). Jesus that commands we practice self-denial (Matt.16:24) not self-fulfillment. Sometimes i just sit here in disbelief when i read the blatant lies these false teachers espouse. i see no end in sight. i am truly jaded. (big heavy sigh)
Today I heard Kenneth Copeland claim that Jesus walked on Earth by faith. Can you believe that? Faith is for us who have not seen. Jesus was with and was God in the beginning. He knew what we can barley grasp and have faith in.
Then Copeland proceeded to tell me how I can be just like Jesus and have most anything I want
. If I don’t have it, I just don’t have enough “faith” is what he tells me.
Later in the broadcast he told me to not block his blessing and buy his new series of tapes/DVDs. Yes he said “his” blessing.
I am certain some if not all of these charlatans do not believe in anything but the money they collect. That’s why they will spin a tale every Sunday, if not every day.
Now, Now, Independent Conservative,
Don’t you know that Kenny is a “little god-man?” I do hope you sent your money in so he can continue…..he needs another new jet to add to his fleet!!
If he gets another jet, it is because Gawd is taking him to the next level and his faith rebuked the devil. Say the devil is a liar and give the devil a black eye. Money cometh.
It is amazing how many people limit the power of God! As I read all of these peoples comments I feel sorry for them for they have put God in a box. Many of you are like the dead and lifeless Christians that are leading people away from Christ. Many already think that all they have to do is believe. However faith without works is dead. If you dont think so just ask Abraham.
it doesnt take faith to come up with gimmicks to get people to give money.
Wow, it amazes me how many opinions are on tbis site. What is the purpose of this anyway? Please explain to me how this will bring God glory?! What will it accomplish? Oh, wait a minute… How about we all just SHUT UP and PRAY for our spiritual leaders! No, no, instead of prayer, lets slander what we can from other Imperfet people that God has set up.. Billy Graham, Rob Parsely, Jakes, Juanita Bynum… How about the Crouch Family. Anybody want to talk about King David? A man who made mistake after mistake, but somehow God loved his heart. Or Job, called perfect, but feared losing everything. Or Peter (Who Jesus said I will build my church on you), who only trusted God at certain times in his walk. What’s My Point in all of this: Watch yourself, you dont want to put your mouth on God’s annoited. Because you could be right, but you Could be wrong, too.
When did King David, Job or Peter deny the deity of Christ or place Christ in His Father’s seat?
Unlike you, we are sure the false teachers are FALSE, because the Lord had us read scripture for ourselves and showed us they are not His and are NOT hearing His voice.
Regarding Peter, Jesus said he would build His church on the truth that He is the Christ and Son of the living God, not on a man. People who pull Matthew 16:18 to claim it was Peter ignore what Peter said in Matthew 16:16 and what the Lord said in Matthew 16:17. If the Lord claimed Peter is the rock on which the church stands, do we stand on a rock of Satan? Consider Matthew 16:23. Nobody playing up Peter as the cornerstone ever mentions that after their twist of a scripture Jesus turned to Peter and used the title “Satan”.
You can’t grasp that Jesus was speaking about the spiritual truth and then lie of words spoken by Peter, not saying Peter himself is the cornerstone and not saying Peter himself is Satan either.
Also, the term for Peter’s name was not the same term used when Christ said “rock”. If you are the Lord’s, learn more and study the history of scripture you probably will learn this one day.
Isaiah knew Peter is not the stone on which the church stands, see Isaiah 28:16. And Peter knew the words of the prophet Isaiah and knew he was not the cornerstone, but Christ. Read what Peter said himself in 1 Peter 2. We saints are living stones, however, the cornerstone on which the Lord built His church is Himself.
Kourtney–First, these are not opinions, for the word of God stands on its own concerning these pimps. Second, I never Knew God’s annointed preached another gospel. Third, what these wolves are doing is far from a mistake, for I don’t recall them repenting and turning back to the true word of God. They continue to bring in destructive heresies, so for you to compare King David, Job,and Peter to these wolves is rediculous. Fourh, God does not require us to SHUT UP on issues such as these pimps, for these are not secret sins Mevin have on this web site, these are public sins of these wolves and the Word of God tells us to bring these public sins to the public. Did the disciples sit around and pray all day long for the gospel to reach the lost? of course not, they prayed and took action, they taught the gospel of Jesus Christ and they called out wolves such as Jakes and Bynum ect.
So You can defend the Wolves if you want, but just know that as long as people stay under their corrupt doctrines, they will be led down a road of destruction, remember the Word of God says ” Bad tree bears bad fruit,” Mathew 7: 17. “You will know them by their fruits,” Mathew 7:16. Just because the wolves have a large church and a famous name does not make them men of God or God’s annoited. Last, these wolves are loved by the WORLD and the Lord said “If you were of the world, the world would love its own.” John 15:19.
kourtney,
Where in the Bible does it talk about praying for apostates. I agree we should pray for Billy Graham. He has wondered in his later years but he is not a Pimp. However, the others you mentioned are not even teaching Biblical Christianity. They are preaching paganism spawned from Azusa with the intent of fleecing the people while living gluttonous lives of wealth wrapped in a form of Christianity. That my friend is NOT someone in error but an absolute apostate. Why don’t you read how they treated BarJesus and get back with me.
Kyle
ABOMINATION!!! This is even the worst explanation from these pimps and pimpettes, for giving your money to them. Well again, most of the people giving rely on the “spirit”, and most of them don’t believe in biblical institutions. Most of the people giving are simply “walking in their authority” and tired of working so they have to play the lottery with these pimps, the thing is that the only “winner” is the pimps and pimpettes!!!
Melvin,
She is one of the biggest pimpettes on the block. She easily was last weeks fool of the week and april 9th we all get the blessing of watching her on the beggars network as it is once again time for praise-a-thon! i feel so lucky, don’t you?
Yeh I’m over here in the U.K and we get this nonsense also.
I watched Paula White one morning and she had the original “7 Blessings” pimp Steve Munsey doing he’s usually biblical numerology nonsense.
I turned over to the God Channel and there he was again..
I’m starting to get a scary feeling that this guy might be “omni present” LOL!!
Anyway… the only thing that stopped me from clicking off was the fact that he made this remarkable statement which I wrote down word for word.
Munsey: “When I’m broke and busted I’m disgusted. I want to tell you that when somebody tells you that you can be more spiritual when your broke I get depressed and I say is there a God? But now when I get blessed there’s a hand clap within me because of the blessings of God”
said on God TV March 9 2007.
It just amazes that people actually follow this nonsense and it also shows the real heart of the so called Christian TV channels that allow these guys on their channels preaching false doctrines.
So according to the “Doctrines of Munsey”.. God can only be served whole heartedly if he blesses or gives us something first..
It’s seems that Munsey has forgotten that God gave us the greatest gift of all.. His son Jesus.
Will somebody please remind him of John 3:16.
But it seems for Munsey and the rest of the “greed gospel” brigade that the promise of salvation and eternal life is not enough..
Keep up the good work Melvin and I’ve been turning a lot of people over here in the UK onto this great site..
Melvin,
It seems as if every other day Paula White has a new scam. If it is not “first friuts” it is help send the kids back to school or something. She is always on it to keep the cash flowing. I cannot believe some of the things she comes up with. Her target for sure is the Black Community. It may have started out as love or sincerity but now it has turned very sour. Paula wants money and money only…. that poor “Messed up Mississippi girl” ( her favorite saying). I’m from Mississippi and not far from the city she was born in ( if she was actually born there.) and I get sooo tired of hearing that. She’s another one on my prayer hit list. As far as Long, he is redeemable.
Many Blessings,
BK

Good post Melvin.
Thanks for keeping us updated. Keep up the good work.
Sheeple= sheep and people?
(MN: Exactly. Sheep + People = Sheeple. One of the readers came up with it and I decided to steal it. )
Here is an example from scripture of an individual who was trying to follow God for the miraculous who offered to buy (release?) the power of God from Peter.
Acts 8:18-23 When Simon saw that the Spirit was given at the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money and said, “Give me also this ability so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”
Peter answered: “May your money perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money! You have no part or share in this ministry, because your heart is not right before God. Repent of this wickedness and pray to the Lord. Perhaps he will forgive you for having such a thought in your heart. For I see that you are full of bitterness and captive to sin.”
What a crock!!Thank Mel for shining the light on these sucka fools!!! I used to get pimped untill God opened up these eyelids. There were times at my weekest point when I would hear a word from these Pimps and Pimpels. The word would actually ministered to me in the situation that I was going through and at the end of the word here it comes. “IN ORDER FOR THIS WORD TO MANIFEST YOUR LIFE, YOU NEED TO SEW A SEED OF $66 DOLLARS FOR THE NEXT SIX MONTHS” Do you have any idea how that made me feel. But needless to say my 66 dollars went towards the light bill, they didn’t get a penny form me and God worked it out anyway. Now that’s what’s up!!!!!
Sucka fools!!!…I am having Fred G. Sanford & Aunt Esther flashbacks…lol
oooh ma, you’re dating yourself- i guess that means i am too since i obviously know what you’re talkin’ about lol.
That makes 3 of us………………”ELIZABETH, I’m COMIN’ HONEY!!! I’ll be the one with the Pimp’s hand in my pocket!!”
Melvin, Melvin, Melvin. When will you leave the annoited people of God alone. You know what is says in Chronicles about touching the anointed of God right? Dude, I was just going to post something on myspace and my blog about this same thing. I watched the enitre sermon (after the third week) this weekend. What is the name of the other heritic she rolls with. The dude that is always pushing the communion cups? That dude was talking about Golgatha being the place of the skull because (this is serious, no lie, so prepare yourself for this deep revelation) this is where David drug Goliath’s skull after he cut his head off, and sense the prophecy was that the seed of the woman was going to crush the seprents skull, Jesus’ feet were on top of Goliath’s skull (he somehow combined Gol the first part of Goliaths name with something else to come to this conclusion). I thought that was it with this dude. That is by far the most “creative” interpertation of scripture I have seen. Paula is quickly rising the ranks to become the Queen Pimp!
It was probably Perry Stone, the cup kit seller. Fast talkin, used car salesman type from Tennessee.
The guy you are talking about is Perry Stone. He has a show called “MannaFest”
