Who would have believed that there are tornadoes in Uganda? I, for one, thought tornadoes only occurred in the mostly northern and southern temperate zones, generally not much further south than, say, Georgia. But apparently I’m wrong. Several months ago, a tornado hit Uganda, near Kampala, the country’s capitol.
One touched down there. Really!
Okay, I can sense that you don’t believe me.
Of course you know I try not to say things unless I can back them up with pictures or something. It just so happens that my crack meteorology team captured a particularly nasty twister (that’s meteorological lingo for tornado) as it raced across Kampala. Their high speed, high definition camera revealed a rather interesting feature of the tornado. Click here to take a look at it.
That’s right, Jamal “Mister Twister” Bryant graced Uganda with his presence a while back. He’s showing bits and pieces of the Ugandan conference on television. As I sat and listened, I was completely amazed at the…foolishness that came out of Jamal’s mouth.
Consider the following:
McBryant was relaying the experience Jesus had during the forty days in the desert. He said such things as:
1. He (Jesus) was trying to get some understanding for the depth of His life and the call for His purpose…”
2. When he’s trying to find out “what am I supposed to do with my life…”
3. “When trying to find out the fulfillment of his life’s calling , He went into the wilderness…”
In these three statements, Jamal reduces Jesus to no more than a man who is as clueless as the rest of us. According to him, Jesus is looking for His purpose. That is, He doesn’t know what His purpose is. I can see me not knowing the purpose of my life (if I’m unsaved and wandering off on my own). But how in the world can the creator of the Universe, God incarnate, the one who GIVES our lives purpose, not know the purpose of His life?
Oh wait! Jamal has dealings with Creflo, doesn’t he? And if you remember, Creflo provided us with a lot of material in which he claims that Jesus wasn’t God until He was able to grow into his anointing. Do the statements by Jamal sound as if they would fit well with Cref’s doctrine? Do the statements sound as if he is beginning to move into adoptionism - that Jesus became the Son of God, and indeed God, when He received his anointing. This scripture twisting display by Jamal-Harrison McBryant is, I believe, an excellent example of why you should stay away from heretics. Or as Paul said: A little leaven leavens the whole lump. And in this case, it is an attack on the very character and substance of Jesus as God.
By the way, click here to see the spiritual results in the lives of the men and women who attended the conference and took what he said to heart.
the funny thing about all of the is that there will be those that still contend that doctrine really doesn’t play that much into a person’s salvation. I’m not saying that everyone that sits under these preachers are unsaved. But, what you believe will directly effect your walk. And if you don’t know God’s will then you will be in active rebellion against God, yet believe that you are living rightously.
I would just like to state that I have read the comments made in ref to Pastor Bryant and it is a shame that someone from the outside looking in feels this way. True, Pastor can come off as flashy, but he has always been this way.
I do not believe you are familiar with the array of programs implemented from his ministry which assists the whole community, such as scholarships for students, pampering sessions for single mothers, money given to families facing foreclosures, a crusade to battle the violent streets of Baltimore, and the list can go on and on. (MN: That’s nice. Tom Cruise, a committed Scientologist does nice things. He’s promoting garbage. The Mormons live wholesome lives. They promote heresies and garbage. The JWs live moral lives - they deny the deity of Jesus Christ. It’s not about the good things you do. It’s about the doctrine you teach while you do those good things. )
I bet you did not even know that one Sunday he bought more than a dozen of suits to church and randomly gave them out to young men who could not afford a suit. (MH: So now the young men can go out and walk in their sins in brand new suits. Rather than dressing up the outside of the young sinners, and dragging their fathers off to see “I Think I Love My Wife” McBryant would do much better to teach the meaning of holiness and living the victorious Christian life through Jesus Christ. It would even have been better to quietly and discretely find out what the kids needed and supply it out of sight of the rest of the congregation. As it is, he only highlighted the fact that the kids were poor and emphasized how generous Passah is. Excuse me if I fail to be impressed. )
So there, I believe that your comments are ignorant. You stated that your perspective was to get the Church back to where it belongs. Where is that, having us singing ancient hymns like” We should overcome.” in the cotton fields? (MN: How about some of those ancient hymns like “A Might Fortress is Our God” or “All Other Ground is Sinking Sand”? )
Just in case you have not noticed brutha, times have changed and unfortunately some people are afraid or not conducive of change. (MN: And in case you have not noticed sistuh, Jesus Christ is the same today as he was yesterday. He still has the same standards )You fit the bill. In closing, it brings sadness to my heart that instead of uplifting one another we rather tear each other down. All I can say is that I will continue to pray for you, so that you can do something more productive with your time. “Some people dream of accomplishments, while others stay awake in do them.”-Constance Baker. WILL YOU PLEASE WAKE UP?
(MN: And in closing, it brings sadness to my heart that one of the sheeple at the Empowerment Temple of Doom can be so completely bamboozled. I’ll continue to pray for you and the others who have been sucked down the ET rat hole. Truly, you need to wake up and read your bible without looking through the McBryant lense. )
Please member, how do you feel about your pastor ********** ****** *** ******. He is flashy and arrogant.
(MN: I won’t post this. It may be true. In fact I have information that validates it. But it’s too personal and is more a result of his bad doctrine on him rather than dealing directly with the pimpery. If it erupts in the press and the person openly acknowledges it, I will likely discuss it as I did with Haggard, or whatever his name is. )
Believe me–it is true!!!!!—***** ** ******* **** *****!!!!!
(MN: Maybe so. But until the perp confesses or the the DNA results are certified, it’s not showing up here! What about this am I not making clear? )
Where is your hatred for pastor Bryant really coming from, it sounds as if you have a personal vendetta against him? Did you know him before he becama a pastor?. If you are going to attack “pimps in the pulpit”. surely he is not the only one. Spend some of your energy exposing all who you think are “in error” and don’t persecute one man. I think you have “with overkill” made your point. Really, is this personal????
Just admit you love that viper named JHB.
JHB deceives many. He has earned special attention.
You block me from you website but just to let you know JHB did make a mistake and that people think these minster are GOD and they can’t make mistake. He bleed just like we do, he is human. ON THIS NOTE PEOPLE CAN BLOG AND KEEP TALKING ABOUT THIS BUT IT’S NOT GOING TO CHANGE ANYTHING. WHAT HAPPEN IS DONE AND OVER WITH IT’S IN THE PAST AND MOVING ON. SO I WILL PRAY for you since you have to much hate in your hate for someone who have done some wrong but he have done some a lot of good
B, no one blocked you from the website. It takes time for the comments to get posted.
Secondly, no one thinks these “ministers” are God except those who blindly follow them while ignoring what the REAL God said in Scripture about fleeing from false teachers.
Thirdly, I don’t believe false doctrine, lying about his educational credentials, or involving himself in serial adulterous relationships can be categorized as “mistakes”. When was the last time you “mistakenly” lied about your education, or “mistakenly” cheated on your spouse??
Fourthly, nothing is “over”. He is still spewing false doctrine, he is still inhabiting a pulpit because his sheeple despise the Bible’s instructions, he is still in the midst of being divorced for his adulterous relationships, and he now has court cases pending where it is likely he will wind up charged with perjury for claiming an income of $38,000 per year when his wife in divorce papers claims an income of $350,000.
Nothing is over……….and perhaps because it is NOT over, even folks like yourself will finally be forced to think.
Jrose,
May I cordially invite you to look to the right of the screen and you will see a list of ALL the PIMPS Melvin talks about. You said:
If you are going to attack “pimps in the pulpit”. surely he is not the only one. Spend some of your energy exposing all who you think are “in error” and don’t persecute one man.
You will be happy to know melvin has an ever growing list of many Pimps not just JBH. Stop being one of JBH’s bootlickers.
Kyle
i am from the bahamas, and there as an old saying “first impressions are lasting ones.” mr. bryant comes off as very self centered person, with all for me written all over his face.but who am to judge, may GOD who knows all be his JUDGE.beware of foxes in sheeps clothing.(a word for the wise.)
(MN: Ladies and gentelmen, I hope you see what just happened here. Judge Not is acutally responding to some of the statements made on this site. And he is making at least rudimentary attempts at defending his (or her) position. Please read the comment carefully and if any of you want to respond, please do so carefully and as kindly as you can. I think Judge Not is actually attempting to apply his understanding of the Bible to Jamal’s teaching.
If I were going to skin this cat, I would start with the idea of Jesus growing into His sonship. But that’s just if I were making the response. GDub, for this one, your leash has been lengthened to 400 words. No limit on Bible quotes. )
While i may not agree with everything Jamal said, i also believe Jesus had to grow into His sonship. Don’t get me wrong, i’m not saying that Jesus wasn’t God before He was born, but i’m probably saying He had some human limitations, just like we have. He was not perfect as He walked in the physical body. Didn’t He sleep? Didn’t He eat? He even was able to feel depression.
I believe His life is an example for us to follow. As Christians, we should not walk in the spirit of humiliation; instead, we should walk in the spirit of humility. What is humility, after all? Humility means submission to God’s Will, it is cooperation with God. See, religion tells us we are sinners (even after we receive Christ ), we always gonna be sinners and all we have to do is to pray. To believe this lie is to say that Christ’s nature we receive is sinful and imperfect. Yes, i’m a sinner by myself, but i still can do all things through Christ that empowers me! (Philippians 4:13)
When i am walking in the Spirit, i’m no longer a sinner. Heresy? Then why would Jesus say “You will do greater works than these”? (John 14:12) Again, religion will always “miss” this verse or any other that shows us our authority in God, rather emphesizing that verse in the Epistles that says we never stop sinning. And yes, i believe the apostles were very powerful men of God, but i also admit that they, as human beings, could sometimes be wrong.
They received the Word from God in the same way we do, not hearing some voice from heaven, but through the Holy Spirit. Well, how many of you know how easy it is to misinterpret what God is really saying to our hearts? God’s Word literally has to come through the prism of our religious beliefs before we perceive it - perceive in a distorted and twisted way.
But that’s when religion comes - we just blindly believe the Bible, we’re not even willing to practice anything it says we’re supposed to do. We worship the Bible more than we do God! Again, why did Jesus say “You will do greater works than these”? If we are correct in our current doctrines and dogmas, why haven’t we seen these greater works? Could it be we have missed His message?
Many believe and teach the Bible to be the “Word of God.” If this were true, how can John 1:3 say, “the Word of God is God”? If this were true, how can the Old Testament tell of a God who kills women and children (while we are told in the New Testament, “God is love”)? Can they be the same God when several verses tell us, “God does not change”? How can there be a God of opposites? (Malachi 3:6; James 1:17)
God bless you all.
Judge Not,
Time out a second. Here is your quote…….
He was not perfect as He walked in the physical body.
I am floored right now and I can’t believe nobody else picked up on this one. #1. Perfection is in the sense of being sinless which he was. If you deny his perfection you are denying your salvation. He HAD to be perfect because no one else can save us or you from sin. WOW! I am floored. #2. Didn’t Jesus fast for 40 days? Do you know how long “Humans” can go without food and water? Maybe more than a few days without water and at best more than a week without food. So how did Jesus do it than? Judge Not “HE” emptied himself. “HE” could have called down angels at any time. “HE” chose to sacrifice himself for you and I. Think about. A perfect God did this for us. Wretched sinners that we are and he did this for us. I don’t know where you are getting your doctrine from but please for your own sake seek the true Jesus. I say this in all love and humility. I don’t like the fact that so many people are dying and going to hell because they believe in another Jesus.
Kyle
That scripture didnt say that Jesus had no water. It says that Jesus he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred not thirsty.
Nes,
Please stop splitting hairs. Your juvenile response still does not address how a “Human” can go without food for 5 and 1/2 weeks. Come on get real. Jesus was more than just a man.
Jesus was a man and is God..no question. As a human with Chirst we can do ALL things threw He that strenghtens us.
This was not a rebuke? This appeared to be a reprimand (which is a rebuke) or sort of correction to what was said. That is rebuke.
Why is that minuscle detail important? Do you believe that Jesus had water? Moses did not (Deut 9:9) on the mount, so are you saying that it is possible Jesus (God in the flesh) did?
Yes the bible said he hungered, but did he drink? We know what it says…..just desire the clarity on the implication in which you corrected an individual by stating he only hungered.
No harm, no foul.
Nes…so what are you saying? This type of statement (or rebuke) has a serious undertone to it.
This is not a rebuke and am not sure what undertone you hear. I was reading that verse and it didnt say that He thirsted, it said He hungered
Don’t bother to comment. Wasn’t it the Gnostics who believed that the God of the OT was different from the God of the NT? I’ll have to do some research on that one and get back to the chat line.
This comment is, as I like to say, a target rich piece of work. It has issues on so many levels, in so many directions. I’m just holding off saying anything until the rest of you have had your fill.
GROW IN HIS SONSHIP? WHAT!!!!? Jesus was perfect. Point blank. You can’t be perfect and then have to grow into perfection. Growing in perfection eradicates the notion of being perfect and GOD in the first place. Jesus is perfect and God. He was born this way. He didn’t grow in it!
Jamal’s error is not Heresy its blasphemy, can God deny his word? if this Jamal is teaching that Christ had to some how grow into His son ship thus was imperfect his epiphany could not have come from the spirit of God and because it did not Mr. Bryant has called the Holy Spirit a liar. Forget Mr. Bryant; read your Bible bro.
(Mr. Melvin :”GDub, for this one, your leash has been lengthened to 400 words”)
Many thanks, good sir, for lengthing the chains that bind me (lol, lol). Hopefully, we’ll reach the point where the chain is gone and I can finally be unleashed.
By the way, where’s Gary V? Seriously, “Riki TIKI” has been unusually absent recentl, and everytime I use my new nickname he gave me, it reminds me of him. Is he okay or battling through some things currently? Just Curious cause I do miss him, and I’d like to know how to pray for the man……
With their (Bryant, Dollar, etc.) twisted doctrine, they might as well claim the Virgin birth was not true and that Jesus was not placed in Mary by the Holy Spirit. They should tell their followers to take a pin and cross out Matthew 1:18 in their Bibles.
They could even have their followers write in something like:
———
Joseph and Mary shacked up on the down low before they got married. Jesus was born from a misdeed, but their misdeed and what was intended for evil was instead used for good, to show that anybody can do great things.
——-
I mean that really does fit their view of things.
And has anyone else noticed that this view expressed by them falls more closely in line with Mormonism? I think their twisting of scripture and what we see in the efforts of Mormons are brewing what could become a very sick alliance.
You sound just like them.
And just think, he’s makin g it up as he goes along. Imagine what the pimps can do if they have time and crave money.
I THINK YOU ARE IN LOVE WITH MR. BRYANT
And what do you base that on, my sycophantic support of his twistings and pimping?
“(They) received the Word from God in the same way we do, not hearing some voice from heaven, but through the Holy Spirit.”
Not sure on who (they) is, but if you mean the Apostles (minus Paul), Jesus taught them face to face. The truth was not filtered through any prism of any sort.
“They” are indeed the Apostles. As concerning the rest of the Apostles (except Paul), of course they were taught by Jesus face to face. But the Epistles cannot be regarded as an attempt to write there the things the Apostles couldn’t find any place for in the Gospels; that simply wasn’t their purpose. Rather, the Epistles were written as the words of comfort, encouragement and sometimes reproach to the early Christians, persecuted fiercely by the governors of that time. But these Scriptures also contain verses like 1 Corinthians 7:10 -15:
10. And unto the married i command, yet not i, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband.
But now, notice what’s happening in verse 12:
12. But to the rest speak i, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not , and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away. KJV
Judge not,
First, the Epistles carry the same weight as the rest of scripture:
2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;
Second, the epistles for the most part were written to predominantly Gentile congregations, whereas the four Gospels were spoken to the Jewish people (who knew the Law). Two totally different audiences.
Didn’t i actually say Jesus was God? I do apologize for saying “Jesus had to grow into His sonship”. I didn’t really mean it, as my following words “I’m not saying that Jesus wasn’t God before He was born” seem to prove that.
My point is - Jesus, while walking in the flesh, had some human limitations. He had emotions. He felt love, but He also felt anger, depression and sadness.
In no way am i saying that Jesus was a sinner. The Scripture says that Christ was tested, tempted and tried, but He sinned not. In this sense, He WAS perfect.
Jesus was born in the flesh, but nobody in the flesh can be as perfect as the Spirit alone is, it always means some limitations, doesn’t it? Jesus walked the Earth in the physical body, therefore, He knows how it feels.
He was perfect in all He did as He was pleasing His Father alone; we should do the same thing. And yes, we’ll never be as perfect as Jesus, but it’s not gonna keep us from trying to be more like Him every day of our lives. In other words, our christian motto should be “What would Jesus do?”
But here’s the problem: Bryant, like Creflo Dollar say exactly this. They say that he had to grow into his sonship.
What exactly does that mean? For Bryant, it apparently means that Jesus didn’t know that he came to die for the sins of the elect. It apparently means He didn’t know His purpose. While this may appeal somewhat to the flesh, by making it look like Jesus has the same problems we have, it wreaks havoc with the Bible, Jesus’ character and characteristics, the plain reading of Scripture.
Bryant may want to encourage you to be like Jesus. But you can’t do violence to Scripture in order to do it. Jesus knew who He was and who His father was even as a child. The incident at the temple, when he was separated from his parents, is ample evidence of that.
No place in the desert experience is any of what Bryant talked about indicated. This is yet another example of Bryant making Scripture say what he wants it to say so he can present his message. Why not let Scripture speak for itself. Otherwise, the listeners are simply following the words of men rather than God. Bryant’s job is not to insert meaning into Scripture. It is to explain the word to believers. He doesn’t do this.
So what am I missing?
somehow i think we are getting to a point were scripture won’t even be relevant anymore. I suppose that is why they write so many books. You would think that scripture would be enough for guidence, but i guess it isn’t.
To Melvin:
I saw a TBN broadcast in early 2007 when Creflo Dollar said that Jesus had to perfect himself into the Son of God. He had me in my chair baffled and confused. To be honest, I was doubtful about it but I almost fell for it. I am so glad that you encourage many that visit this site to read the scriptures for themselves or else these heretics will do a number on you.
You are using the wrong things to measure Christ. So what if he showed emotions (anger, sadness, etc…)? He grieved, but he wasnt depressed by the way. The bible on many occassions says that God the father grieved, he is also angered, he is also a jealous God. So is God the father imperfect too now? Think about this, then you will realise that you are judging Christ by the wrong standards.
Ok, I’m glad you clarified your statement. I still am waiting for Nes to clarify his statement.
Kyle
judge not: “But that’s when religion comes - we just blindly believe the Bible, we’re not even willing to practice anything it says we’re supposed to do. We worship the Bible more than we do God! wait, are you sure that you are a believer?
(MN: In fact, given this somewhat low view of Scriputre, on what do you base not only your salvation, but the very idea and definition of salvation? That is, how do you KNOW you’re saved? As a follow-on, what did Jesus mean when He talked about “greater works”? )
Greater works.
John 14:12
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater [works] than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
The “greater works” is the ripple effect of the Gospel through Palestine, the neighboring nations and the surrounding world.
Jesus makes reference of this stating that he is going back to his Father, and comforting them in that he gives assurance of the validity of carrying on this spreading message.
I am already saved through the blood of Jesus Christ. Salvation does not come by our works. No matter how good we are, salvation is based on our faith in what Jesus did on the cross. Walking in the Spirit is the evidence of my salvation.
(MN: First and most obvious question: How do you know that it is through the Blood of Jesus that we are saved? What is your source of information? )
I’m 20; i’m here for instruction. I’m not trying to convince anybody of my ideas, but rather trying to understand what i’ve got to do as a believer.
How do i know that it is through the Blood of Jesus that we are saved? Christ became sin for us and bore our sins in His body on the cross, according to 2 Corinthians 5:21, 1 Peter 2:24, Gal. 3:13, Ephesians 5:2, Eph. 2:8-9.
And these are my favourite scriptures: Isaiah 53:4-8:
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgement: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
John 3:14-15:
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
John 1-12: But as many as received Him, to them gave the right to become the children of God, even to those that believe on His name.
(MN: Now, why can’t you use that same assuredness in talking about the heresies the pimps preach. You are saved by the blood, not Jesus suffering in hell. And this is just for starters. )
(Judge Not: “How do i know that it is through the Blood of Jesus that we are saved?”)
Consider these verses to add to your collection, if you’d like:
1 Peter 1:18-19
18For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, 19but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.
“How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” (Heb. 9:14).
Ephesians 2:13
13But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.
Ephesians 1:7-8
7In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.
Matthew 26:28
28This is my blood of the[a] covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins (by Jesus).
GDUB - you missed the point of the discussion with Judge Not. Earlier he said:
My bad, brah……Wish I caught it earlier…..
Mr.Melvin
To make sure I don’t miss the point next time, is this discussion basically centered on how one is to intrepret the Bible, or is it dealing with what the Nature of Truth is? Just trying to clarify so I can stay on point with things…..
Blessings…..
(MN: No. This discussion is to address the such questions as “How can the Bible be the word of God when it seems to talk about two different Gods?” and the statement that we read the Bible through a distorting prism, implying that we can’t get accurate facts about God from the Bible. )
Thank you for the report Mr. Jones, I pray that someone who holds scripture in high regard reaches the people of Uganda. I heard on Gospel Today TV that he plans to branch out and spread his viral strain of teaching across the country in every major city to have a broader spread of destruction. He also said, Pastors call him Gospel Lite, but he is drawing “Men”. As a man, “Lite” is for women who squeeze into size 6 dresses when they wear an 8 and I like full bodied treatments of the Gospel.
Mel, I going to call for a motion here. I motion that anyone here using the “touch not mine anointed” passage must be able to properly exegete it upon using it. Can you back me on this one. I am so tired of seeing touch not mine anointed when it comes to these dudes.
So if you can’t exegete that passage, then you can’t use it.
binks
(MN: I watched this pep talk this afternoon. It is all he says it is. Willow Boy does a really good job of convincing his sheeple that if anyone says anything negative about him, it is ONLY because they are jealous of all he has. There was no mention of doctrine, committment to scripture, or making sure that my actions and words match the Bible’s words. The whole thing was focusing on me and making sure I feel good. )
Its along the lines of Jamal’s issue.
I’m writing because I was appalled at the gross misuse of scripture by one Joel Osteen. On Sunday 2-25-2007 he broadcast a program. I didn’t watch it all, because I couldn’t stomach it, however I endured enough to hear him compare “shaking the dust of your feet” to keeping your well pure. He began by talking about Slingers. Slingers are those who throw stones into a fortified city at there well to try and force them out of the city due to the lack of water. He continued to say that those stones are peoples negative words etc… He moved along this thought process for a while and then, I believed he went to Mark 6:11 to make his point that jesus told his disciples to shake the dust of your feet if people are negative towards you and take the high road to avoid stooping to there level. I was extremely appaled that he reduced that scripture to a verse that deals with not rendering evil for evil. He used it way out of context. That verse as many know deals with the testimony of judgement that was rendered through the act of shaking the dust off of the feet. Further the verse states this.
Nevertheless, after verifiying the scriptures as they appear in the three of the gospels (Matthew,Mark and Luke) I returned to hear him say he is not called to discuss theology, but rather his is called to be an encourager.
I’d like to write more but I probably take up too much space.
Melvin could you please verify this information and do with it what you will.
A Brother in Christ
“No matter how good we are, salvation is based on our faith in what Jesus did on the cross.”
These are the words of a falsely indoctrinated believer. He/she was taught by ministers who failed to get the correct understanding of justification. He/she was probably indoctrinated by a Calvinist/Eternal Security teacher. They specialize in ignoring scriptures to promote what they want to believe.
Indeed, we are saved by grace. Salvation is a process that’s initiated by our faith (not works). Yet our FAITH must produce works. {Ephesians 2:10}
(MN: The rest of the comment was simply Bloviatus Maximus Arminius, and that not done very well.
His basic point is that you are saved by grace but kept by works, despite what Paul said in Galatians.
He then went on to quote a string of verses that had nothing to do with the Christian and salvation. )
This may be your website. Yet what you did was totally unfair. It’s unfair to only post what YOU agree with.
Furthermore, your interpretation of my comments reflect your erroneous and blind-sighted views. Stop being rude. If someone types a comment, post-it (as is) and let the readers read it for themselves.
(MN: God’s Truth - There is no requirement for me to be “fair”. The readers have been exposed to your faulty arguments on many occassions previously. You are not saying anything new nor anything particularly useful. If they want to be told they have to work for their salvation, they can visit the endless Arminian sites out there.
It always amazes me that people who come to the site seem to think they have a right of some kind to be heard. You don’t. If you want to promote your generally flawed Arminian view, start your own web site. But (hear a good Schartzeneeger accent here) QUIT YOUR WHINING as long as you are here. )
You know God needs permission to do anything on this earth. Thats the problem with Dominion teaching it teaches that on this earth we are in control, God is to do our bidding. Colossians 1:16-17 : for in him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or authorities — all things were created through him and for him.
17: He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
No Doubt Joe. I wonder why these name it claim it people havent stopped the aging process, or death itself. If you can speak to it, you can make it happen right.
How about I decree that I am now 17 forever, Until I say I’m 18, the prosperity teachers teach us that we can have anything we ask for, forget the fortune and fame just give me some youth back, I hate hearing my bones crackin when I get up in the morning.
It’s utter stupidity what these people will believe. The thing that gets me, is that most of these people have been in these churches and gotten “NOTHING” and they still stay, and continue to wait on “their season” OR “for such a time as this”
Yet they never come out.
I’m still waiting on One Million Dollars that a pastor told us we would receive if we got in his line one night several years ago. I got in line for nothing, cause I still didnt get the money.. Glad I finally got the truth…
those of you who are here, and dont believe this is a good work that melvin is doing, you may not like the tone that’s given sometimes, but some of us are just hard headed, I spent the first 20 yrs of my christian life in the charismatic church. See all the same stuff that everybody is doing today. Thank God he kept me searching his word, and not believing and following man(at least not outside the confines of scripture). Time to wake up christians. Get the wool off.

Binks…Funny enough. I agree. Wholeheartedly. When I first came into the faith….I wondered well….if they have all this power…why are they losing their hair…and making matters worse by wearing a toupe’, or sportin’ the combover?
That was one of the matter I always wondered about, because it befuddled me to think that you are teaching me that I can speak ANYTHING into existence and that it is tried and true with you….why the combover? Can’t you speak that missing portion of hair back instead of compromising it?
Bless you binks.
The Bible clearly says that the wages of sin is death. And of course the aging process is the process by which we die under normal circumstances. So for the Pimps to claim continued healing implies they are sinless. Which I guess explains why they think they are little gods. This claim can only be made by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The one who truly was sinless and laid down his life. We on the other hand CANNOT make that claim. We MUST die because of our sins. Therefore we also have no control over destiny pertaining to our life span.

Gridiron ever seen a preacher preach about healing with glasses on, then when he goes to them them that they can be healed if they just claim it, he takes his glasses off, points them at the crowd and say’s just claim it. Then puts his glasses back on, and reads some more scripture or some more of his own notes.
Note, he cant even read his own writing, but can tell you about healing. I guess sight problems arent a medical condition.

LOL….LMBO!
Yeah…he is preaching about healing….giving instruction to “claim it”……takes the glasses off…..then puts his glasses back on to read more….
These guys are funny. Although funny…they really hold truth to it. I mean…you really can minister healing name it claim it to others, and yet…you cannot defeat death…nor make the effects of age dissappear?
Gimme a break……
BINKS, GRID, et. al: Here’s something to sink your teeth into—Years ago, I heard a sermon preached by Ken Copeland about the same thing, “Name it and claim it,” for your health. According to “bro-Ken,” one can actually speak to lost teeth (whether pulled or knocked out, or whatever). He said he was fully expecting his missing teeth to grow back. Has any-one heard his “good report” in the past decade or so. BTW, I’m switchin’ to the prayer of agreement, so please pray for the restoration of some of mine.
:-)
B
“lost teeth”? Wow.
Beryle, I havent lost my teeth yet, “OH BUT YOU CAN BET” if one of these jokers falls out, THE FIRST THING I’M CLAIMING IS ANOTHER TOOTH!!!!!!
And I dont want to wait for it to grow like we had to wait when were were youngins, No I want it instantly. lol….
Teeth aint nothing to play with. I could live with glasses, or wearing hats to cover my balding head, but man my teeth gone, and not being able to bite into food.. That aint gone work. I’m claiming all my teeth right now Until I say they can go!!!!!!!!!
lol..

Honestly, I’m sadden by the damage that those involved in the movement have done to all sides…..
On one side, they have made people believe that you can speak anything you want and get it, and on the other end, they have caused people against it to go the extreme of ignoring the principle of how words do affect the things in our lives (if it wasn’t true, then people involved in advertising commercials and making ungodly music would stop making a profit altogether)
Hopefully people will go back to the Word and realize the basic principle (Proverbs 12:14, Proverbs 18:21) that has been twisted out of context by many in the WOF movement: That a person’s life largely reflects the fruit of his toungue, and to speak life isn’t to speak whatever YOU WANT, but rather to speak/believe God’s perspective on any issue of life, whereas to speak death is to declare life’s negatives SOLEY, to declare defeat rather than the victory we have in CHRIST, or to complain constantly rather than remaining thankful before our Maker.
I have a question regarding TBNs’ children programs…
Are they from the 70s’ and 80s’? (and they recycled them?) and whats with “steelroots”?, I know this is off the subject but i have to know?
Charles,
TBN is just preparing the little young minds to grow into little WoF monsters when they grow up. In other words Paul Crouch is grooming the next generation of blind followers to fill his coffers. It’s actually quite genius albeit sinful wicked and rotten. What a brilliant idea to keep the money flowing in as evil as it is.
Kyle
…kinda makes you think of the mafia.
Errr…..the Mafia has bit more class, don’t you think, TOG? At least they’re undercover about their actions…..
much of what’s seen on TBN is blantantly in quite messy and in the open (though I gotta give it up for how the support Kirk Cameron/Ray Comfort on “Way of the Master”….there is at least, some level of sanity on the station)
I had a pentecostal friend of mine whose cousin died in November. They believe in the Copeland, Dollar, Hagin, etc name it claim crap. When the cousin died, her father who is a pastor tried to raise the boy from the dead. Guess what! It worked! NOT!
After that his wife died couple of weeks ago(May God Bless HER Soul) but she wasn’t raised from the dead. I didn’t want to seem judgemental, but I kept asking myself. “What didn’t they use their “Holy Ghost, apostolic, revelatory, aunction of the anointing, revival power to raise the dead? Note they believe they have power over death, debt, bad health, poverty etc.
Thanks Kyle! I thought it was just me feeling like they are processing the next generation, that is just crazy by all means…
Hey guys if you haven’t seen the documentary “Marjoe”(the guy who duped pentecostal congregations out of their money, and sad thing he said he didn’t believe in Jesus!) I suggest you go buy it!!! But if you want to see some clips you go to Youtube and type in the word “Marjoe” and you will see different scenes.
(MN: GDUB, I gave you a 400 word limit. This is 520. Please abide by the rules. And remember, the rules are there only becuase you insist on commenting/ruminating so often. The next one, no matter how filled with wonderful words, precepts, and principlas, will not be posted. Four hundred for addressing Judge Not’s comment. Four hundred. Am I unclear on any of this? )
(Judge Not: “Many believe and teach the Bible to be the “Word of God.” If this were true, how can John 1:3 say, “the Word of God is God”? If this were true, how can the Old Testament tell of a God who kills women and children (while we are told in the New Testament, “God is love”)? Can they be the same God when several verses tell us, “God does not change”? How can there be a God of opposites? (Malachi 3:6; James 1:17)
We cannot see things from His perspective; we cannot know how long He had to bear with these wicked groups of people. We are not told everything about His dealings with them, so we don’t know to the extremes He went to warning them to save them. We only see the end result: women and children were put to the sword without regard. But we must remember that everything God does is true to His character. He is Merciful, knows all and acts justly—and His timing is perfect.
Put yourself in God’s place for a moment. You try tried to reveal yourself to mankind and want them to enter into a loving relationship with you, as you already have for them. Some are highly interested, some partially while others have no interest whatsoever and rebuff every attempt you make at reaching them.
The uninterested are so given over to wickedness that their lives corrupt others, which is what the Canaanites were. They were heavily involved with bestiality, and even children were entirely given over to it!!!! If this weren’t bad enough, they worshipped devils–and had sex on the altars as part of their worshipping rites. Moreover, these people regularly took little babies and threw them into fires in the name of religious sacrifice.
All of this is bad enough to warrant their extermination by a Holy God, but they were bent on dragging Israel into their cesspool (ex. Remember Balaam and how he showed the Moabites how to destroy Israel by sending beautiful women into their midst and seducing them….Numbers 22-24, Numbers 25, Numbers 31:1-18).
What we don’t see from our finite viewpoints is that the Spirit of destruction was continually at work behind the scenes, trying to stamp out God’s attempts to reveal Himself to Israel. The devil understood that if he could corrupt Israel into idolatry (which he managed to do), he could keep hungry hearts from finding God…..and Satan used those wholly given to worshipping him to corrupt Israel.
God, in His wisdom/mercy, knew the only hope was to crush these wicked groups by the hands of the Israelites themselves.
Again, we cannot understand God’s wrath through the eye of human experience. Our wrath is meant to destroy the one who has offended us, but God’s is meant in one way or another to bring life.
It’s like the protective love a mother has for her baby…..and just as it is an act of Mercy to place an unrepentant murderer to death, so it’s the same with God. OT wrath is simply a different manifestation of the same love in the NT.
Going along with GDub’s discussion, here is an analogy:
I am a judge and am known for being a very strict judge. A man comes into court and is convicted of speeding. The fine is $400 dollars. I sentence the man to pay the $400 fine. No discussions, not waffling, no way around it.
The very next day, my son appears before my court for the exact same traffic violation, with the exact same circumstances.
I hear the case and, because I am a just judge, find him guilty and charge him $400 just as I did the violator the day before.
He is my son and I don’t wish to see him spend the money he has been saving for college so I, as his father, step down from the bench, take out my wallet, and pay the fine for my son.
My son’s debt to society has now been paid, but my son did not have to suffer the wrath ($4oo fine) of the state.
A question - did I change between the day before and today? Or is there a different relationship at work? The answer? I didn’t change. I still enforced the law and defended justice. But my actions for one were different than my actions for the other. I owed neither of the defendants $400 but because of my love for my son, I paid the penalty for him.
By the way, please don’t anyone write about this being a poor way to discipline my children. IT IS AN ANALOGY TO ILLUSTATE A TRUTH.
dag Melvin, what a savage you are. How can you do that to your own kids? May the Lord have mercy on your soul chief!
………BTW, excellent analogy.
