That’s right! T. Dexter and his protege John K. Jenkins from First Baptist Church of Glenarden are going to be performing at the Washington DC Convention Center starting on the 3rd of January. And I’ll be there, pamphlets in hand, camera fully charged.
I just picked up about two hundred printed 3X5 cards from Staples just in case people want to ask me why I would dare put my mouth on the mand of gawd. Click here to get a gander at the card.
Oh, and as much as Mrs. Mav tried to be as outrageous as possible in her profitcy, take a look at this. I believe it’s a clip from last year. It has T. Dexter saying pretty much what profitess Mrs. Mav said.
I can’t help using the Tweedledee and Tweedledum image. It’s just such a spot on illustration of what’s happening to John K. Jenkins and the whole crowd there at First Baptist Church of Glenarden.
I wonder if Deacon Lee is going to be there. Maybe I’ll see him at the top of the escalator.
Tune into TBN tonight Patti Labelle is hosting.
Wow! What impact do you anticipate making with 200 cards?
Beware of Security. Now that you’ve blown your cover, they’ll be looking out for you. It will be interesting to see or hear people’s responses.
(MN: I don’t think they pay much, if any, attention to me. After all, as I have said before, I am simply a pimple on the WoF behind; a hardly noticeable hiccup in the flow of cash and victims. )
Hey Melvin, did you see that Ty Tribbett is the musical guest for this event? Him and those kids will be jumpin all up and down, to get the people worked up for Jakes to come in and knock em down, I will be prayin for you.
binks
It seems to be a lot of pressure being put on Pastor Jenkins and this being FBCG’s Revival…but if I stand corrected, I think for the past couple of years two churches has been joined together….Greater Mount Calvery and First Baptist…If you are going to talk/post that Pastor Jenkins is “pimping in the pulpit” why not include Bishop Owens or Co-Pastor Susie? Seems a little one sided to me. But nevertheless, there is always someone trying to bing the man of God down…now I will admit, I am not that fond of TD Jakes and his preaching style, but nevertheless he is bringing souls to God…However he does it, souls and lives are being changed and saved…We are not here to worship man but God himself….I was there last night at revival and I must say, he preached from the bible and took the scripture and related it to everyday life. Yesterday was the first time I can honestly say I got a message from him, other than him telling people to get ready, get ready, get ready…and getting the message is what we need to improve of lives and be pleasing in Gods sight.
You are quite correct. I should in fact post more on Owens. In fact, the idea that Grainger Browning was on the podium yesterday practicallydemands that I make an observation. This is actually the first time I saw Owens in live action. i can’t say I was overly impressed with just the few words I heard him say.
Tell you what, just to keep you from feeling as though I am slighting the good bishop, one of my next postings will be on him and the pimping he does. How’s that?
I’ll wait until tonight to comment on T. Dexter.
By the way, does anyone know if the good Bishop (Owens) has taken on T. Dexter as his mentor like John did?
Actually Melvin you can go back several years when Suzie Owens was a guest speaker at WOTL for about two years. Their relationship has since evolved into something as a mentorship. Suzie Owens has been on TD’s show the Potter’s Touch.
Thanks! I heard similar comments about last night from my friend who attends Greater Mount Calvary. I heard the service was an awesome worship experience where many got saved and lives were transformed. Praise God!
(MN: Transformed into what? The transformation spoken of in the Bible (Rom 12:1-2) takes time. It’s not a one time, lightning flash experience. Shouldn’t these transofrmed people have to demonstrate this transformation by living the life rather than falling on the floor? And what, exactly, is an “Awesome worship experience”? How does this phrase relate to anything in the New Testament or the Old for that matter? Does anawesome worship experience provide you with the determination to stand for the Truth, no matter what? Does an awesome experience provide you with the understanding to communicate the Gospel to others. I suspect your enthusiasm is simply an evidence of the paucity of the man and his sponsors’ lack of depth in spiritual matters. )
I am only commenting on what was told to me. REMEMBER, I wasn’t there! According to the rage in your comment, I feel that everything last night must have gone rather well, and the word came forth; and quite frankily you may not have anything negative to comment about. Can’t wait to hear what you have made-up or what will be embelished. Remember, I can find out the truth!
(MN: I’m sorry - what rage are we talking about? Maybe you could supply some examples of the rage I have so clearly demonstrated. )
“…..contrary to the teachings you’ve learned………..” Romans 16:17
Melvin, the congregation must have previously learned TRUTH in order to possibly recognize ERROR. So that particular text won’t be effective for members of First Baptist Church of Glenarden.
Only a small percentage of the membership has taken the “Church Doctrine” course. In general, most Christians aren’t astute enough (in the Word) to pay attention to doctrine. The small percentage that might be aren’t bold enough to speak out.
(MN: Remember, the card is to explain why I am doing what I am doing. It doesn’t explain why Jakes is wrong. But also remember that the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two edged sword. I trust God to do as He pleases with the hearts of the men and women coming past me whatever their training, whatever their attitudes. It’s not my responsibility to pick the killer verses; only to be available and, as far as I can judge, be obedient. It’s not my job to reason anyone into leaving; only to present the truth and leave the heavy lifting to God. Because of who God is, I can’t fail. )
AMEN! AMEN! AMEN! Now that’s what I’m talkin’ about!
Melvin, Keep up the fight. I came from the church ofwhich the Pastor in Suitland was shot in the head, and died. Truth be told…he pimped the entire congregation, even impregnated a young 21 year old…he taught major bogus doctrine…keep up the fight..I cried aloud and spared not…all before he was exposed…he was very prideful…and had a church full of concubines…he had taken on “another” spirit. Most kept saying “touch not the Lord’s annointed.” I would say, “Who is the Lord’s annointed, and what happens when they go bad?’ Well, God is just…and he paid dearly for his errors…and even worse he preached against female pastors, and his wife, in his death has been ordained as the new pastor! Well, keep praying…these are indeed perilous times…and judgement first begins at the house of God…one last point, I would ask folk, “What is doctrines of devils? And would you know if the doctrine being taught was devilish…they would never answer, they’d just call me a debater! Praise God, for saints like you…your ministry is often misunderstood. Jesus Christ is Lord, to the Glory of God, our Father. The Lord knows them that are his…kf
Uh OH Melvin………….Pastor Jenkins and the “First Lady” (man I just HATE that title) got third billing. Bringing up the rear, as it were.
Nice clip of T(rinity) D(enyin”) Jakes though………
HOLY,HOLY,HOLY!!!!!!!!!!!!
“God is gonna break you outta that file folder”……….errrrrrrrr, OK.
“God is gonna break you outta that box.” Well, which is it?? Am I in the file folder or inside the box?? Or is my filefolder inside the box?? And if so, am I filed under “Pimped”??
“This is your year for TRIUMPH.”
Good………….but I wonder, since EVERY year is the “season of breakthrough”, my “Jubilee”, my “Year of the Harvest”, my ” day of deliverance”, my “day of abundance”, my “season of overflow”, my “time of reaping”…………when precisely will we see it?? Why do I need a “breakthrough” every year??
I wonder why it’s never my “season for repentance”, or “day of mourning for sin”, or ‘time of brokenness”???
I guess that doesn’t prime the moneypump as well, huh?? I keep looking through the Bible at the admonitions of the prophets, and can’t find these sort of things that Jakes keeps blathering about.
I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, since he can’t find the doctrine of the Trinity or the Bible’s answer for AIDS either.
Jer 23:32 Behold, I [am] against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the LORD.
Jer 23:21 ¶ I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.
Jer 23:22 But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.
Hmmmmmmmmm……..it seems that the prophets that sttod in God’s counsel were given words designed to turn the flock from their evil way, and from their evil doings.
Nary a peep about breakthroughs, harvests of riches, etc etc.
Amen GaryV……Well said!!
One thing about the man made tradition of the title of “First Lady”. I have often wondered how come those churches that have Married Female Pastors never refer to the so-called Pastor’s husband as “The First Man!” Ofcourse the church is imitating the world, as Presidents wives are called “The First Lady.” And dont get me wrong…those that are Pastor’s wives should be first in prayer, first in worship, first in serving…etc…that should be the principle. But the attitude should be of the heart, not the lips and not to be seen…kf
I agree, what if the first lady is the third wife?
How can she be called the “first lady”?
Gary V you gotta be my long lost brother. I enjoy reading your post. Everytime I start feeling bad, because people say mean things like I try to start decension, or I’m not loving, I read your post, and it reaffirms that they need to love truth over friendship with the world.
BINKS
Binks, are you sure it’s not just because, compared to me ,you look like Mr Rogers?? LOL!!!!!!
Hey Gary I never thought of it that way. But boi, I’ve been branded as devisive. I’ve been told I never show love, I tell people, telling the truth is the highest form of showing love, but they believe in this post modern version of christianity where you can’t disagree at all. But on here, right now you got me beat, So I guess It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood. lol!!!!!
BINKS
Don’t sweat the “love” disciples brother. You’re right, Truth is the foundation of love. I don’t buy into the world’s touchy-feely definition either, and neither did Christ or the writers of Scripture. Otherwise, with their biting words, they were all in sin too.
Christ came to divide………unity only comes with the acceptance of Truth.
