Snake Oil Salesmen

Here’s a reminder that T. Dexter is going to be holding a “revival” starting January 3 and oozing on to the 5th of January. It’s at the brand new Washington DC Convention Center in downtown Washington DC.

I’m pretty much ready. I’ve cased the environment, laid out my general approach, finished the rewrite of the pamphlet and made a bunch of copies for distribution.

I’ve been thinking about the mechanics of passing out the tracts. I want to get as many out as quickly as possible because I’d like to go inside and listen to T. Dexter for about an hour as he feminizes the men and bamboozles the women.

I’ll probably take my camera, the one I can make movies with. I figure sight, sound and a running account of what happens should make for a more complete experience for you there at home. Anybody have a compact tri-pod I can use?

Well,

FBC Glen Arden isn’t the only place Jakes will be in a “revival” for the new year in January.

Click here or on the picture.

PS-Observe how many items are for sale. And when you click one item (DVD) it leads to dozens of more items for you to buy.

Jakes and Jones - oneness both

(MN: I feel like a little boy who can’t wait to tell a secret. Here’s the picture in case you just don’t want to go to the site. I’m telling you - these men and women are pimps, more interested in making a name for themsleves with no regard for the truth, with no regard for sound doctrine.

Noel Jones is Oneness. Either Jakes is Oneness or more interested in helping a fellow pimp out than standing for the truth. Either option disqualifies him from preaching the Gospel. And either option should be enough for John K. Jenkins to drop him as a mentor - assuming John K. Jenkings is pursuing the truth and not a name. )

Don’t forget that “Bishop” Mclendon will be there too!!
This is going to be held in chilly January,so I’m certain he’s happy to get to preach inside(and use indoor plumbing) for a change.

Gee Melvin,
This Noel Jones character is a real winner!!! The whole site is focused solely on him, but then at the very, very last he mentions Jesus in a casual way.. He also lays out his whole psychologizing plan of attack on the world?? This site definitely has my “two thumbs up” when it comes to blatant heresy!! I find these pimp’s websites to be comical entertainment more than threatening to the Body of Christ. After all, who could take this cat seriously?? I hope you the best on your reconnaissance mission, can’t wait to read about it..
God Bless You All..

I agree with you Buckstah. These ministries are running businesses. It is all about them. Check out Juanita Bynum and her husband’s website. Where is God? It is all about them. It is a business! It is a money making corporation for them and not about God. Those many conferences they have are to pull in business. Networking! Pray pray pray!! Last days at hand!

Blessings,

Man, Melvin………….I wish I lived nearby. I’d be handing out those flyers right with ya. Then into the show itself, with a Family Size popcorn (made by Mrs Mav, of course), Coca-Cola in a cup so huge it has it’s own undertow, and enough chocolate covered raisins to bury a Toyota (a small Toyota…………..I’m not a glutton, y’know).

It’s gonna be the GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH!!!!! Women dancing, quivering, and sobbing……..and men following their lead like the spiritual pansies they are (think Joel Osteen………but even LESS masculine,if that’s possible without hormone therapy).

Lots of “slaying in the spirit” (lower case “s”……..cuz it ain’t the Holy Spirit), and emotional healing, and endorphin producing group dynamics with the best “God is my girlfriend” music on earth(Oooooooooohhhhhhhh TOUCH me Jesus!!! Tee hee hee).

Ahhhhhhhh……….I envy you my brother.

Do I ever disagree with Melvin?? Hmmmmmm………

Theologically?? I don’t think anyone agrees completely. But, Melvin has been kind enough to show me some things from the Word that made me reconsider my view of God’s sovereignty. I’m now thoroughly monergistic.

Personally…………well, he’s a Ravens fan, and it requires all the Grace at God’s disposal for me to overlook that. Especially this year.

Pimpologically?? No……..we are in complete agreement. Why is it assumed that if two are in general agreement, one of the two must be a syncophant?? I don’t kiss anyone’s posterior……..the briefest perusal of my posts should make that obviuos.

We just happen to have a lot in common.

How can two walk together unless they are in agreement??

I’ve been trying to E mail you for 2 weeks but it kept failing so i’ll have to address you on this page. I wanted to tell you to check out Jay Bakker , Jim Bakkers son who is a pastor. His Church is in a bar(a still operating bar) people drink and smoke while he brings forth the word, and so does he. He was on Larry King Live a few weeks ago and said that If the law passes that he would happily marry the gays, and he said he’s pro gay rights. he said that he doesn’t believe that the whole bible is Gods word, and that he has a messege that we have all missed, a message of grace, and that God loves us where were at. And he has full sleave tattoos that he said in an earlier interview that he didn’t get until he became a pastor. He told Larry King that they are pastoral, new age tattoos. Also his dad says he’s proud of him. He has a reality show coming out on the sundance channel. Also whats up with T.D. jakes and his new audio Bible read by celebs like samuel L Jackson, Denzel Washington, Heavy D., And I don’t even want to get into the rest, those 3 are the good guys! Again sorry to address these things on your comments page my e mail will be up and running in a flash.

I agree with you as well truthofgod. Every false prophet has to come up with a prophecy for the New Year. Kenneth Copeland has put his in. It can be read at http://www.kcm.org/pdf/kcprophecy_dcvc061111.pdf . He is going on and on about the year of something as always. As we know it is his words and not God’s. Jermiah say 23:16 says, “Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you:they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD. vs. 21-22 ” I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran : I have not spoken to them, yet they propheised. But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from their evil of their doings.” God means business about sin. If every prophesy is the “Year of overflow or Year of abundace”. When will we repent? When will we truly turn to God? God wants to turn to Him with a repentive heart. He loves us so much and He wants to have a relationship with us, but sin has got to go! vs. 23 “Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off?”

you know what, to add to my comment. Doesn’t it always seem that in these prophecies they always make mention that there will be disasters in the world, yet in the mist of all that is going on, the Lord will seek to make his people prosper in wealth. I never heard anything about repentance, escaping hell, or staying obedient to his word. I mean come on, if you are going to give a counterfeit prophecy at least try to make it look like true scripture.

Gary. You are funny. McClendon? My fiancee (especially when younger in the faith) had this weary feeling about him. She told me of an occasion where her and her mother went to his church about 3 years ago, and the man had on these tight polyester/velvet type pants on stage (the pants were sort of revealing).

why would a man wear such atrocious clothing.

Not only McClendon, & Jakes, but Kenneth Ulmer (from Faithful Central Bible church in Inglewood is just as qualified). He has admitted to preaching heresy to win a crowd. Now, there is repentance….but that pretty over-the-top….and the endorsements of individual like this only affirms the fact an individual need to stay away.

Faithful Central owns the Great Western Forum where the Lakers used to play, and rent the venue out for (it appears) all takers.

Madonna concerts, Snoop Dogg & Twista rap performances, the Leverts, etc…..the list goes on…..

One can do a search engine and type in “Great Western Forum” and look at the home page. Does this appear to be a church to you?
Better yet, does this appear to be a church FIRST to you….not to mention the lockout they had with contracted employees this summer (they set up props at the Forum for church, concerts, etc.)

For church, the place is half full. The last half of the venue is blocked off. One would wonder why even have the Forum (they have owned it since 2001).
Not to mention he (last year) had Noel Jones, Charles Blake, and Eddie Long & their choirs as guests on different days for the Pastor/Wife anniversary.

A ringing endorsement to who these individuals are brings one story I hear Ulmer tell at this anniversary with Blake and Noel Jones.

He says “When we travel across the country to revivals, and conferences and such, we have other Pastors and Bishops whom ask…C’mon. Do you guys REALLY like each other? You guys are all in Los Angeles having to compete for members.”

Ulmer goes on to say, ” I tell them, yes…..we REALLY like each other.”

That statement was kind of crazy to me because there should be no question as to the affinity of one individual to the next.
That statement made it clear to me what they are about. They just lay it out for you to see.

Some are just too caught up in the world to understand these things shouldn’t even be an issue with the body of Christ.

Lance Watson I have heard once during a 2005 “revival” at Noel Jones church (City of Refuge).

To say the least, the message was very entertaining. He had a caption of the message where (A fork or instrument of some sort) he tells a story of how he held a conversation with this instrument.

It was a made up story (obviously) in which he stated that the instruments point to him was that before he could be useful to God he had to “go through the fire”.

Funny, then at the end of service Noel prompts everyone to place $5 dollar bills on the altar……now this doesn’t appear to be much……but when you have around 5-6 thousand people there at this evening service…..and at least half of them come up to the altar….not to mention THAT was on top of the “tithe” in which he collects at the beginning of service.

Paula White has Jakes in March 2007 at her church as well.

Hi Grid & Family: Perhaps the sleazy clothing matches McLiar’s, er-r-r, McClendon’s character. This bedfellow of the ceo of club newbirth spoke at this organization before they moved into the “big house.” He opened his “sermon” with a warning to the audience to “not believe everything you read in newspapers.” The local newspaper and a “Christian” magazine had recently published the story of McLiar’s recent divorce from his wife, Tami (Tamara (?)—anyway, the mother of his three children. He went on to rant with much pomp of one who had been wronged. (This is a first-hand account as I paraphrase the following monologue.):

“God is a God of restoration and reparation. What ever the devil has tried to split asunder, God will put it back together; whatever you have lost, God will restore. He is not a God of partiality. What He has done for me, He will do for any of you. So don’t continue to believe man’s lies and misinformation you read in print. I’ve brought with me proof of God’s grace: I want you to meet my wife, Priscilla!” ????????????

A gasp went up from the audience as this “cute, young thang” (matching the prototype of most of these pimps’ “arm candy”) walked to the podium. This was NOT Tami McClendon—the mother of his three children—whom McLiar had led us to believe he was introducing! I immediately thought of Peter’s question put to Ananias in Acts 5:1-5: “Why has satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Ghost….” Clarence the liar McClendon, didn’t even consider that some in the audience knew the truth or that some were filled with the Holy Ghost and belonged to the Lord Jesus Christ. He and his bedfellows’ LACK OF FEAR OF GOD is a constant where ever they spew their venom. It’s done with much smoothness and authority as they drag thousands into hell with them. Stupid defenders of these men and women won’t be able to blame anyone but themselves for the eternal punishment reserved for following another Jesus, another gospel, another spirit!

(MN: I’m not sure why you see this as a problem. I could if I were giving him money. I went to listen to Calypso Louie speak at Ebenezer and again at the Million whatever it was several years ago. I listen to David Duke when he speaks. Listening is not a problem. Providing support is. )

(MN: Looking at me like I am crazy is not the same as retaliation. After all, the Gospel is foolishness to those who are perishing. If nothing else, it may provide an opportunity to “give an answer for the hope that I have - with gentleness of course.

I doubt anyone will mistake me for a big name showing his approval of the goings on. Remember, I am less that a pimple on the behinds of these people. I doubt I will be noticed among the thousands who will be there. )

Usually when God spoke through a prophet for a nation, He never had good news for them. God sends a prophet when the nations are not living right, when the people are sinning and forgot the ways of the Lord or if they were going to war. These guys use the name of the Lord in vain; saying words that God did not speak. From Moses to John the Baptist and Jesus. All warned the people concerning their error.

Comment by Amen Corner

Amen. Many many years ago, I traveled in a circle of churches that hosted so-called prophets. Years later after careful biblestudy, I realized ALL of them were FALSE.

You’re right; Their words and prophetic style do not line up with that exemplified by scriptures. God’s blessings are for the righteous not a congregation of sinful believers!

When God speaks, He always addresses the SINS of the congregation. That’s His focus. After their repentance, then God allows restoration.

Today’s ministeries are doing the opposite. The people they lead to Christ have no knowledge that they’re supposed to “repent” from their sins.

2 Corinthians 7:10 reveals “repentance” leads to salvation. In 2 Peter, believers are told to repent or perish.

Chi needs some offensive consistency. Rex is up now, but the D has been REALLY exposed recently, Detroit put up some offensive numbers on ‘em.

BTW-Don’t even like Baltimore’s offensive style of play. Too conservative, and ugly.

Steelers? Willie Parker is the only reason I even tune in to them. Nice runner. Real nice.

With what Baltimore shows on D though is somethin’ to be reckoned with. Too physical, and they can match up with anyone.

San Diego can’t match up past their all world Def-line and linebackers. Def Backs are a liability when a QB has time to survey the pocket.

Gary Coleman would look good in that secondary when you have Merriman, Phillips, etc up front harassing the QB most of the game.

(ALM)BTW-Don’t even like Baltimore’s offensive style of play. Too conservative, and ugly.

(Gary) McNair is a cagey vet…….but their running game is spotty. That D is dominant, but can be exposed with quick hits on crossing routes, screens and traps. They overpursue, and their gap control suffers. If you saw the Steeler game, we had open receivers short and intermediate all game. Just didn’t have a QB that could get them the ball, even with time. Baltimore can be had, and SD is precisely the sort of offense that can do it.

(ALM)Steelers? Willie Parker is the only reason I even tune in to them. Nice runner. Real nice.

(Gary)Gotta love Willie. Our O line is another matter. Squirrel proctologists see bigger holes than Willie does. If he had some blocking he’d be a killer.

(Gary)See above…….

(Gary) Agreed……..but Ogden has been hurt, and turftoe is no small matter to a 330 pounder who has to be quick on his feet. They may be starting a rookie there………and Rookies + Playoffs = Trouble. With the SD Passrush against a hobbled O line, I doubt McNair gets much time to survey the field.

what were you before you became a “5 point calvinist”? and what are the 5 points?

Comment by Melvin Jones
2006-12-30 08:14:29

If I may:

Five point calvinism is an abbreviated way of discussing the sovereignty of God. The five points are summed up in the following accrostic:

T - Total Depravity of Man
U - Unconditional Election
L - Limited Atonement
I - Irresistable Grace
P - Perseverance of the saints.

Unfortunately, the language has changed somewhat over the last four hundred years and the exact phraseology does not always communicate the concepts that clearly. But those are the five points.

The other side of the discussion is Arminianism. They tend to deny a couple of points - the total depravity of man (man’s inability in and of himself to please God), and Irresistible grace - the fact that he whom God calls will respond. My friend GaryV was an Arminian. But he was in good company. Some of the greatest evangelist were Arminian, for instance the founders of the Methodist church were.

I hope to do another article on this soon, but for now , do a search on “Bubba” or “puppies” here on the site and read the articles. The search section is at the top right hand side of this page. They at least begin the discussion of the entire concept.

On the subject of pimps, I just received in the mail today 2 “checks” from Rod Parsley. 1 for $25 & another for $50. It seems that he needs $2.5million to stay on the air “proclaiming the TRUTH of Jesus Christ all over the world!” He states that 1 of his “partners” has given $1.25million & he needs us to contribute the other $1.25mil. If I match the 1st “challenge check” & give $25, it will be DOUBLED by the “partner” & so on. Wow! These people are unreal!! If I remember correctly, only about 1-2 yrs. ago I caught part of his program were he was asking for $ to replace TV equipment. He even had the screens w/static & fading in & out as if it was about to go out. I can’t believe that the body is falling for this mess! Melvin, You need to add Parsley to the Pimp list! It was quite l-a-r-g-e. She tried to hush him because, he said, it might make people think that’s where most of their tithes and offerings were going. And the beat goes on!!!!!

Hi T, I checked out the link to Rod’s site. I noticed that for “Pastor” Rod’s 50th birthday, he is trying to hype it as a jubilee year. He even goes so far as to use the scripture:

“And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a Jubilee for you; and each of you shall return to his possession, and each of you shall return to his family.”
Leviticus 25:10 NKJV

So, could we possibly interpret that as when Rod turns 50 that he should liberate (and give back) the money he has duped people out of in his previous 49 years? Maybe Rod and the gang’s interpretation is that they should continue to liberate the dupes of their money in his 50th year. It’s sad how they try to use scripture to fleece the flock.
