Jakes at FBCG

It’s that time of year again. It’s almost New Year’s Eve. And that means it’s time for the nation’s best known Oneness Pentecostal to make his appearance at one of his proteges’ revivals. That’s right, T. Dexter Jakes is going to be speaking at the First Baptist Church of Glenarden New Year’s watch service and performing at the First Baptist Church of Glenarden Revival!

Turn to your neighbor and say “What is John thinking about?!?”

There has to be a reason John Kenneth Jenkins, the Pastor of First Baptist Church of Glenarden, is inviting T. Dexter Jakes, a Oneness Pentecostal preacher to come to FBCG to preach. Click on the picture to see the announcement on the FBCG website. The announcement is near the bottom of the page. I’ll switch over to an image of the page in a couple of weeks.

Some say John is inviting him because T. Dexter is such a powerfully anointed speaker, more anointed than the pope. Others might point out that T. Dexter is very successful and blessed of God, with tens of thousands of people attending services at the Potter’s House in Dallas every Sunday. Still others might say that T. Dexter is the best there is and First Baptist Church of Glenarden only gets the best.

But again I ask: Why would John Kenneth Jenkins, the pastor of First BAPTIST church of Glenarden invite a man who, if he truly is Oneness, likely isn’t even saved to begin with.

Remember, T. Dexter is the one who reigns over MegaMess, a yearly multi-million dollar event that features people who serve double duty. Yeah. They have people who sing Christian songs while serving the Mormon church as a choir director (Gladys Knight). They have people who pose nude signed up to lecture young adults on living a pure Christian life (Ms. Pigford). This is the guy who invited the editor of Essence Magazine to speak to the supposedly Christian women at MegaMess. And remember, the editor of Essence has no problem promoting a Yoruban priestess at Essence conferences and in her magazine. If she’s a Christian, why is she promoting a Yoruban priestess? If she is not a Christian, why was she speaking at MegaMess? Oh wait. I think I answered my own question.

John Jenkins has publicly announced that he asked T. Dexter Jakes to be his mentor. In other words, he want to emulate T. Dexter. Maybe that’s why he invited T. Dexter. He wants to be “successful” like T. Dexter.

To the Elders at First Baptist Church of Glenarden
- Ask John why he has been so tight with a Oneness con man for the last six years.

To the Ministers and “Reverends” at First Baptist Church of Glenarden
- Ask John why he has been so busy selling you down the river by associating so closely with T. Dexter, a oneness pentecostal.

To the Deacons at First Baptist Church of Glenarden
- Ask John why he has paid so little attention to the essential doctrines of the Church and why he is associating with a man who denies the essentials of the faith and associates with those who deny the essentials of the faith. Wait - I did say deacons, right? Never mind. You guys proved years ago that you don’t have the ‘nads to do anything but sit in the first three rows of chairs during service and jump up and down like a bunch of girls.

To the Thinking Members of First Baptist Church of Glenarden - if you can get to him, ask him why he is being mentored by a Oneness Pentecostal and why he is inviting the man to speak at a supposed revival. You men, get your wives’ permission before you do it.

I doubt that any of you (especailly the ministers, those supposedly skilled in handling the word), will say any thing. I’m sadly certain you will keep your mouths shut, play the game, and stand by while the thousands of people there at First Baptist Church of Glenarden are led further and further astray. And all of this for the privilege of sitting up on the podium while John struts back and forth preaching more and more useless mutterings, telling people to turn to their neighbors and say this or that. And like a bunch of well trained sheep, they will do it. I suspect the deacons, the elders and the other leaders at First Baptist Church of Glenarden are probably the best trained of the bunch, working to keep the sheep in line.

When I think about it, it seems clear that John doesn’t care about doctrine. Otherwise he wouldn’t invite a militant Oneness preacher from Detroit (Charles Ellis) in to speak and he wouldn’t associate with other oneness characters. When I think about it, it seems clear that John is doing whatever it takes to draw the helpless men and women into the organization so he can pay for the $50 million monument going up in Kettering, in Prince Georges County MD.

Click here to see some of the latest scams T. Dexter has going. I’ll bet all of this makes John’s mouth water. Can you imagine how much money T. Dexter has coming in? And all he has to do is make religious noises to keep it coming in. If John could do HALF of what T. Dexter has done, he could expand the Kettering monument into a monstrosity twice the size it is right now with even more empty hearted people being entertained.

I’m sorry, this may not be relating to your topic of discussion, but have you heard of the rapper turned pastor MA$E? I saw him on Creflo Dollar’s show talking about how the “Prosperity Gospel” changed his life.
His ministry is called S.A.N.E. ( Saving A Nation Endangered) Yet, he has an album exoected to come out early next year entitled, “Officially Back” with 50 cent and P. Diddy as the producers. My question is, how does he expect to help save a nation from this world if he’s conforming to it. if you would visit the website:
http://www.sanechurch.org/SANE/aboutus/vision.php
you would see what ridiculous goals they have conjured up in “faith” by confession. By the way Dollar is his mentor.

I look at this website, and what I see is a new ager, motivational speaker. I really saw nothing on his website that talked about being like Jesus. Kingdom work to this guy is as all the rest of them, prosperity and wealth. To me he is another that is teaching deceived people of God, how to take the mark of the beast.

“Why would John Kenneth Jenkins, the pastor of First BAPTIST church of Glenarden invite a man who, if he truly is Oneness, likely isn’t even saved to begin with.

Pretty strong words concerning those who believe in Oneness and their salvation. It’s things like that that keeps us from reasoning together as the Word says we should.

(MN:
Very strong words. And I stand by them. 2 John 9, 10; 1 John 5:11, 12. The objective here isn’t to reason with the purveyors of damaging and damning doctrine. It is to expose them and those who would wish them well while benefiting at the expense of the very people they should be protecting and teaching. Reasoning has nothing to do with it. Did God instruct the Israelites to reason with the inhabitants of the promised land? Does Paul instruct us to reason with those who teach another doctrine? Rather he tells us to turn away from such and to warn others about them. The closest he comes to telling us to reason with them is in telling us to correct them so they may repent (2 Tim 2:5) Remember - the Christ of the Oneness adherants is not the Christ of the Bible. No Christ - No salvation.

And you Oneness readers out there: Don’t do the drive-by commenting, dropping a trite proof text and speeding away. Before you say anything, address the questions and observations on my posting on the Trinity. )

Those who want more details on the dangers of the “Oneness” movement you can read about it here.

I used to call it the apostolic “Jesus only” movement. I’m glad more folks are talking about it. I’ve seen many people I love fall for it.

Are all of these leaders that “BLIND”? Amazes me. I viewed the link…..and it was ALL GIMMIE, GIMMIE, GIMMIE. (Acts 8:20 ; 1 Timothy 6:10)

How many of these followers of individuals such as this wouldn’t care or realize (maybe) if the devil himself jumped out in the most way off historic depiction of him (Horns, flamin’ red with a pitchfork) and said…..”Ta Da!”

It is all here for us to read, (2 Corinthians 11:14) it is a matter if we desire to know and understand (Prov 4:5-7, Prov 16:16, 17:16) the truth. Some may have even been slapped in the face with it, but rather than look foolish, banished from the circle, humiliated, and risk the fleeting financial gain being swept away……the saviour is nailed back to the cross. We must reach out for this wisdom ourselves (Prov 19:19).

“With an Aaron’s army (gift enrollment) of $30 or more a month.”

“The Pastor must submit……….the first of the tithe from the (Pastor’s personal income).”

“As a Bishop’s Circle partner your (INITIAL gift of $500) entitles you to receive the entire compact disk package, a bonus gift along with your personalized partner certificate, and the Bishop’s Circle lapel pin…..”

The punishment appears to be heaping up (Jude 1:11 ; Rev 2:14 ; 2 Peter 2:15).

More talk of business and apparent social gratitude than prayer (Isaiah 56:7 ; Matthew 21:13 ; Luke 19:45-47 ; Luke 20:46-47)

Just Another Jesus. (2 Corinthians 11:4)

If you have nothing nice to say, just give the facts.

This is wrong and will hurt the people of FBCG. (Fact)

(MN:
Fact: T. Dexter is Oneness
Fact: John Jenkins is having T. Dexter preach at the church
Fact: John Knows T. Dexter is Oneness
Fact: John announced that T. Dexter is his mentor
Fact: John Jenkins cares more about hob knobbing with T. Dexter than protecting the congregation from doctrinal error
Fact: The ministers don’t have a problem with it or they would leave (assuming they had the ‘nads)
Fact: The deacons don’t have a problem with it or they would leave (assuming they had the ‘nads)
Fact: The Elders don’t have a problem with it or they would leave (assuming they had the ‘nds)
Fact: T. Dexter’s site asks for money through various clubs and organizations

What facts did I leave out?

This kind of stuff should be hurtful to the people who are seeking the truth and instead only get spiritual harlotry. )

The saddest part of all this is the fact that half of the people who attend this “show” (for use of a kinder word) know full well that is it pure codswallop. They know this to be the doctrine of demons. The Spirit of the living GOD has quickened this truth in their spirits. But they will deny the gift of GOD to be in the presence of, or (be still my heart) actually be “minstered” to by the great Bishop. He’s a mega-star. We are in the “perilous times” that the Bible is describing with pinpoint accuracy. Saints of GOD everywhere, please read your Bibles and pray, pray, PRAY!

(MN: Maybe, maybe not. I’m not sure we can make the claim that they know with any certainty. But I get your point. )

The thing I would LOVE to ask Pastor Jenkins is this……..

If TD(Trinity Denyin’)Jakes was the Oneness Pentecostal preacher in the one-room church on the wrong side of the tracks, would you still be so hot-n-bothered by his presence??

Would you STILL be recruiting him for your Watch Night services??

Would you STILL be proudly pimping him as your “mentor”??

I doubt it………..because, of course, there are NUMEROUS Oneness Pentecostal preachers right there in Jenkins’ own backyard. And some of those little preachers even know what the Bible says about AIDs.

Then the good Pastor is left with this little bit of soul searching………..precisely why ARE you turning the reigns of a Baptist church over to Jakes??

If its NOT because you love Oneness preachers (you COULD have invited any number of less famous ones)

And if it’s NOT because there are a dearth of BETTER and more doctrinally on-target men who could “mentor” you………..

Why ARE you clinging to Jakes’ coattails like lint on a cheap suit??

There can only be ONE reason………….or rather 50 million PLUS reasons. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$……….

SOMEBODY has to pay for that Palace of Pimpdom.
SOMEBODY has to do what it takes to keep paying customers………….errrr……..sheep in those pews (regardless of the compromise involved).
SOMEBODY has to be the next “Big Dog”……….

Anyone want to debate with me again about the dangers of pursuing this anti-Biblical church structure (referring to both the role of Pastors and the push to build Mega-Church buildings??)??

There is nothing new under the sun…………some among us are STILL worshipping idols of wood and stone which see not, hear not, and speak not.

Look what some are willing to compromise to satisfy the needs of their $50,000,000 idols.

Compromise the sheep……..
Compromise the Word……..
Compromise Christ………….but for goodness sake, FEED THE IDOL.

I totally agree with what you are saying here. However, the Bible tells us to love our neighbors as ourselves, and the intensity of your mockery is inappropriate, I feel. Maybe you should consider the way you are coming across as a godly man when you make fun of these people. Tell your “fans” what is wrong without mocking the people.

(MN:
And if they were to be attacked by a band of robbers and left on the road side, I would certainly do all I could to help them. But as long as they are going to feed poison to the sheep, they will be treated with the disdain God calls for. )

Stand tall my brother for defending the great tenet’s of the historic faith “once for all delivered to the saints”.It seems Melvin that our churches have been hijacked by these ravenous wolves in sheep’s clothing. The big buisness marketing strategies have been incorporated into our churches and these pimp’s are lauded by the biblically illiterate for how innovated they can be. The devil’s biggest deception is false gospels. And we human being’s are intuitively religious. Have you ever seen an ape at a prayer meeting? No! So satan comes as an angel of light using these self-professed pastors who should be feeding the flock of God, not fleecing them and teaching and equipping them with sound doctrine e.g.(Justification, Redemption, Grace Alone, Through faith Alone, in Christ Alone) and much more that a man of God would be equiped to present to his flock. As for those who may think that brother Melvin is being either harsh, to critical, or even judjemental, you have been deceived and I would urge you to judge what he.s trying to tell and show you by the text of scripture alone. And if you can put your traditions on hold and compare them with the text you will see why he has no choice but to defend the bible.Last of all I want to say that I do not even know this brother personally nor am acquainted with him, but I do know the One who lives in him, that is the reason for this response.Paul said in 1Cor.13:4-5 for us to examine ourselves as to whether we be in ” THE FAITH”. Jesus said in Matthew 7:20-23 that there would be many who at that day(judgement) will truly believe that they are saved, only to find out that they have been rejected. So take heed to what this brother and this web-site is trying to alert us to, because it’s being done out of Love for his Saviour’s commands…………Ralph

The problem is that most folk don’t even know what Oneness Pentecostal is. And when Jakes was confronted about his Jesus only beliefs he quickly used his charm and verbage to say pretty much nothing. He skirted around the issues saying things that people who don’t know better would agree with. But we as Christians don’t care to dig deeper, we want to be spoon-fed everything, thus the mega church phenomena. If you want to go to church and check your brain at the door, no worries - Jakes will be all the spiritual brain you need. He looks good, he has money, he’s got a big church - so it must be good - right?

Y’all should google Jerry Buckner and you’ll get the article.

Mr. Jones, you really sound angry and your messages, even if they by chance are factual, are coming across without love, compassion and respect. If you are trying to help others, maybe you should evaluate whether you are being a positive, Christ-like example for them. As I read some of your articles, I couldn’t help but question if you had a bad personal experience while at Glenarden that really hurt you and causes you to be revengeful and vendictive. What personal gain do you have from being so mean and unloving? Are you saved? Do you have a personal relationship with Christ? Are you letting the Holy Spirit guide you and develop ripe fruit in you? There is no evidence from your writings of these things.

Comment by GaryV

You know……..we ARE angry at some of these pimps. Better yet, GOD is angry at them as well.

Or do you think he’s pleased when someone denigrates the Atonement and suffering of His Beloved Son by saying that Jesus suffered in hell to complete salvation. That the devil and his minions tortured the Eternal One. That Jesus was the first Born-Again man. YOUR PASTOR teaches this vomitous blasphemy…………..

Your pastor also allows heretics into the pulpit, betraying his call to feed the sheep. Bet that ticks Him off too.

Jakes denies the Triune nature of God. He misrepresents the Person of God. I bet The Holy One is angry about that as well.

And folks like YOU enable all this mess, allowing His Name to be dragged through the mud. They couldn’t do it without YOU, and your unwillingness to study the Word and test what they say against Scripture.

As for your “positive, Christ-like example”, do you mean the “positive” Christ Who called the deceivers of HIS day blind guides…………whited tombs……….hypocrites……..wolves ………sons of hell?? Is that the “positive Christ” you are referring to??

Just another example that you know next to nothing of the Word, except the twisted trash you’re being fed at FBCG.

Throughout the Word, God extends His hands to the sinner. Yet He saves His most scathing and venomous attacks for the false teacher, and those who SUPPORT them (even if takes $50,000,000 to do it).

Wake up………..

Just Couldn’t help it…

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it agai,, but again I had to write to say how much this site blesses me. Additionally, in connection with my previous post, I wanted to clarify that I wrote because as powerful/informing this site is, I didn’t think it would be a good thing to have so much space given to those who are not hungry for the truth but want to be seen while those who are desperate have to sit/deal with it. Again, just trying to encourage ya’ll to do not entrust holy teachings and the valuable pearls of your time/energy or even holy teachings to those who don’t care…it’d be shame to see ya’ll continue trying to “teach holy concepts to people who don’t want to listen and will only tear apart what we say.” As the old saying goes, “The Man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still”, and better to feed a child desperate/starving than one satisfied/complacent, merely wanting sympathy/attention but neverdesiring change. Why have food spilled over yoursevles in trying to feed those who’ll throw back up what you’ve given? Not at all saying that unbelievers should stop having the Word given to them, but we are called to be “wise and discerning in what we teach to whom, so that we would not be wasting our time”, as Jesus called us to do in Matthew 7:6:

6″Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces.

Though few in number, It’s a blessing that ya’ll are apart of those seeking to walk the “narrow road to life” instead of the crowed highway to hell (Matthew 7:13-14) and again I’m glad to see ya’ll encouraging others to do more of the same. Again, ya’ll rock, alright?!!!Blessings

My sentiments exactly Melvin! See what I mean about GaryV! You are so full of yourself and yes you sound foolish, and I don’t even know why Melvin and the other individuals on this site can even deal with you. You are rude and disrespectful and you are behaving worst than a “pimp”. I don’t have a site, but if I did, you would be banned.

(MN: Each of us is as he is. GaryV knows his word and has my confidence. The fact that I wouldn’t necessarily say something the same way he would say it is not really an issue with me.

Remember, every place needs a Riki Tiki Tavi beause Nag and Nagaina can appear anywhere at any time. I’m more of a Chuchundra myself, though if need be, I can, I believe, swing a blade with the best of them. And since I see the site and read and filter the comments every day, I really have to pick my battles.

But make no mistake about it. As each of us responds to the posting, we are gaining experience in defending the faith, in thinking through what we really believe, in learning how we want to put words together to best express our thoughts. Sometimes a hard word is required (GaryV does that well) and sometimes a soft word is needed (he does that well too).

While personality should always be tempered with the God’s graciousness, don’t let personality get in the way of hearing what is said.

I shall endeavor to translate I See’s remarks directly from the Greek……..Here we go.

“WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!”

I’m “rude and disrespectful”?? I never once addressed you. Never.

On the other hand, you barge into a site where you are a guest, and insult me with no provocation. You then insinuate I am a syncophant.I answered you RESPECTFULLY, as seen below, despite your crassness……

“Do I ever disagree with Melvin?? Hmmmmmm………

Theologically?? I don’t think anyone agrees completely. But, Melvin has been kind enough to show me some things from the Word that made me reconsider my view of God’s sovereignty. I’m now thoroughly monergistic.

Personally…………well, he’s a Ravens fan, and it requires all the Grace at God’s disposal for me to overlook that. Especially this year.

Pimpologically?? No……..we are in complete agreement. Why is it assumed that if two are in general agreement, one of the two must be a syncophant?? I don’t kiss anyone’s posterior……..the briefest perusal of my posts should make that obviuos.

We just happen to have a lot in common.

How can two walk together unless they are in agreement??”

In what way was I rude or disrespectful to you?? Were your unprovoked attacks upon me more or less rude than my reply to you??

You then compound your atrocious manners by suggesting that Mel runs the site improperly.

Keep in mind, to that point I had NEVER addressed you.

THAT Skippy, is the definition of “rude and disrespectful”.

well this is one of the things I love about these type of blogs is that it gives you an opportunity to share your thoughts and beliefs with thinking people. Not that everyone with agree with everything, but that we can share, help sincere people, and learn from each other, which can turn us from error to truth of the Bible.

The thing thing is sometimes depressing is that when you are out in the world, you feel as though you are by yourself. Even when around professing Christians, now-a-days, many of the beliefs are parallel to the world’s way of thinking, so you still feel isolated and in a box.

That the problem Camille. HUMANS don’t get HUMANS to adjoin with Christ’s body (the church). God draws them….and ONLY God.

(John 6:44)
“No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw (draw- metaph., to draw by inward power, lead, impel) him: and I will raise him up at the last day.”

If you don’t want to go…that’s a condition you have to come clear with. You adjoin to Christ’s body to worship God, not have a good time.

And if a man propagates false doctrine….the truth has to come forth, in order to avoid his penalty and warn others…whether he taught these things via ignorance, or he purposely taught for his own gain. (Eph 5:6 ; Romans 16:18 ; Phil 3:17-19)

But doesn’t God use Humans at time to be the mouthpiece of the Good News?

He certainly does………but the mouthpiece has NO power to either draw or repel. The Holy Spirit alone draws………the mouthpiece’s only responsibility is to present Truth. What is DONE with that Truth depends upon whether the hearer has been chosen by God before the foundation of the world.

The degradation of the Gospel is the reason people don’t want to go to church. They know the Gospel being preached is not to the power or the glory of God or else they would be lining up in the streets to be healed and delivered. More people have turned their backs on the church because of apostates like those featured on TBN and the other fake media. If it is a false church with a false leader and a false message they need to stay away from it. Your Jesus warned you in the book of Revelation Chapter 2 that he was returning for a church that was teaching the doctrine of Balaam and the doctrine of the Nicolaitians which we (the church) hate and he hates. Your Jesus said there would be those who say they are Jews (believers) but are the synagogue of Satan. I trust you heard of Jezebel ? Read the prophecy in the book of Revelation concerning the church and then ask yourself why these modern day jack leg Pharisees won’t dare to teach from it. It was determined from the beginning that the church would fall away–that is the reason people want nothing to do with it. And God has nothing to do with them either that’s why they don’t have his word, his spirit or his POWER.

Mav. “Yuck!” Just placed a bit of emphasis (lol) on how that “sweetie” term kept diverting my attention back to the fact this individual’s name was (Franklin).
Pretty obtruse for me. Sorry…my focus (at that moment) just continued to jump off track. Thought the individual kept that going on purpose, which continued to interrupt my track of the dialogue.
