"Natural spiritualism" = "Godlessness". We "naturally" have only a spiritualism that counts God an enemy.

Hello, "Caponese":

Please excuse me if I am not clear on the point you are making. (The ellipsis subsequent to "people" prevents any clarification to your post, I think.)

Nevertheless, I have a question: What do you mean by the "natural spirtualism (sic) of our people."?

Thank you.

And let's pray that the Father allows Mr. Dollar to repent of his sins: " . . . if perhaps God may grant them (here, Mr. Dollar) repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, and they (Mr. Dollar) may come to their (his)
senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will." -
2 Timothy 2:25b-26.

I lived in ATL and was amazed by the prosperity of blacks in the city and just the overwhelming black first impression it gives. After a couple of years of getting the BS full time, I realized that guys like Creflo take advantage of the natural spirtualism of our people and use it to thier advantage. Creflo is a prime example of it and it puts a ugly cloud over a beautiful city and a beautiful people...

With TBN making a promise of blessings to the giver, and the giver making a donation based on the promise, probably without being lead by the HS, and without knowing enough of God's word for himself/herself, the giver really expected a return. But you're right, true giving comes from the heart...I would not have asked for my offering back, but then I know better (but I use to feel the way this giver did, so many times I wanted my money back). The reality is the gospel of Jesus Christ must be preached to all the world, and I believe TBN with it's 24-7 religious broadcasting is ordained of God, but it takes great faith to do it uncompromisingly God's way. I wish ministries would totally trust God and say "I'm not going to preach a distorted message for the sake of collecting money." Is not the cause of gospel not rich enough by itself to persuade people to give so it can be preached to the world.

Brooks,
Then you must admit that though TBN and a lot of these mega church ministries are frauds, it reveals what that individual was serving God for. It may be ignorance or other reasons but true giving is from the heart. Once a person finds out the truth about 'sowing a seed', it is best to move on and let God handle it because He is doing you a favor. Those folks are playing with fire, anyway.

Angela, here's in excerpt from my book in relation to your post:

Another hindrance to our giving is we're afraid God won't give it back to us. I don't think we'd be surprised by believers who expect a return on every gift they give God, and that is, in part, due to what our leaders have taught us. I believe messages encouraging the church to seek the God of prosperity and provision has resulted in parishioners expecting a return on every gift we give God. In my opinion, some ministries have over emphasized prosperity and receiving blessings from the Lord. I think ministries should emphasize giving simply because we love the Lord and are committed to advancing the Kingdom of God. God's word is made of null effect to the Christian whose been taught to expect something for all their giving, because if they don't receive from God when they think they should, they might begin to think, "these principles of giving don't work for me," begin to doubt the word of God and stop giving all together. I don't believe God gives a return on every gift we give him, at least not a return that's readily seen or understood anyway, but as previously mentioned, we do store up for ourselves treasures in heaven!

The LAB's reference to Luke 12.42-44 states:
"Jesus talks about a reward for those who have been faithful to the Master. While we sometimes experience immediate and material rewards for our obedience to God, this is not always the case. If material rewards came to us for every faithful deed, we would be tempted to boast about our achievements and do good only for what we get. Jesus said that if we look for rewards now, we will lose them later. Our heavenly rewards will be the most accurate reflection of what we have done on earth-- and they will be greater than we could imagine."

I know ministrywatch.org has been all over TBN.

Somebody asked for their money back, priceless! (no pun intended)

That would really put these false prophets on the run. If people started asking for a refund when no results came.

Still these folks need to learn the truth of Christ, or they stand to lose more than money, Acts 8:20-22.

To IC,
I remember reading a write up awhile back about TBN and how they were being investigated by an organization like the Trinity Foundation. I forgot the name and website but it states that though Jan and Paul each make in the 300k ballpark, they are living like kings and queens. I have also read that someone put in a complaint to this certain organization against TBN because they sow a seed to their ministry and got no results and wanted their money back. The person got it back too.

Basically the WOF followers is like a person who says they are hungry and goes to eat at Taco Bell. No who says they are hungry will eat at Taco Bell. Bottom line, it is a junk food religion. Something is wrong when you use (?) money to draw people to Christ, as he never stated every Christian would be rich. Those who have a motive for money will search only for scriptures to back up what they are searching for. Sorta like slave masters using the bible to support slavery.

brooksdx said:

Knowing that I have to answer to God I would be scared to death to do what these and others like him do.

That's the difference between you and them. They don't honestly believe God is real. They serve the god called "money". Many of these pimps are closet atheists. Others believe God is only real if he's making them rich. Which by definition makes their god "money".

I pray if it be the Lord's will that they come to their senses and repent.

The church is not in trouble, Brunnette, but the people who purport heresy are. Rest assured that these twice dead, plucked up by the roots stains in the body of Christ will not change the way God deals with his church, but are exacting judgment upon themselves only.

Matthew 16:18
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

God's plan and will for the church and mankind as a whole will go on as scheduled, nothing has changed.

THE CHURCH IS IN TROUBLE!!!!

Why don't we ever hear a lot of these ministers teach on what Jesus said,

19"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.

TO ALL: If you read the words of Jesus and take in what He said, you will see a huge difference in what Jesus said to do and what the church is teaching today. Paul also said to watch out for people that use godliness as a means to get wealth.

Thanks for the video. I was reminded of others things I heard him say on the 9/21 broadcast. Knowing that I have to answer to God I would be scared to death to do what these and others like him do. I'm scared for them and pray God's mercy upon them.

It's rather tiresome reading "touch not the Lord's anointed" If Mel allows, here's a link that deals with this:

IC,

Ole Anthony of all people. What a shame. Alot of people out there can be on point regarding Pimps yet be off by miles on other points.

Yea I found a good message on YouTube about Munsey's scam. He's doing it for Benny Hinn too.

Excellent scripture reference there in Colossians 2.

Guess who else is into forcing people into observing old Jewish traditions and days that were formerly sacred? Ole Anthony and the Trinity Foundation!!! Ole has a full write-up and 2007 Feast Schedule. Of course he fails to mention Colossians 2. Really he does not note any new covenant scripture at all in that write-up :D .

I'm almost done with my research for a post about them. They're pretty messed up folks. Check out their doctrine on their WHAT WE BELIEVE page. Now whenever a group speaks of the Holy Spirit and this is all they can come up with:

WE BELIEVE in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the gifts of the Spirit operating in the Church-- including speaking in tongues and physical healing-- and the power of the Spirit maintaining the believer in the daily walk of faith. (Luke 11:11-13; Acts 2:1-4, 38-39; Acts 8:14-17; Eph. 5:18; I Cor. 12-14; Rom. 8:5-11; 14-17, 26-27; I Pet. 2:24; James 5:14; Acts 4:29-31)

All they can put in words is the mention of tongues, healing and preservation. Which means they've probably got some out of scripture babbling in full effect, although I can't confirm that.

Munsey is a MIRACLE WORKER..........I don't care WHAT you say!! Anyone that can keep a yellow cat on his head like that for a whole hour (while sweating and gesticulating like a madman) has GOT to have supernatural power!!
