Meares

I have long been convinced that all parents go to the same school and that is why they all seem to have the same frustrating responses to their children’s requests and complaints. When you were a kid you might have said “Please let me use the car. I won’t break it.” They invariably responded “I know you won’t break it because you’re not going to get the car!”

Because of the uniformity of the pimps’ methods of manipulation, statements, and general approach to their marks (also known as their congregation) I began to suspect that these men and women also attended a school, perhaps the equivalent of Pimp University (or Pimp U). Some might prefer to hold their noses and call it PU.

Well it turns out that there is such a place.

Don Meares, the Pastor and Bishop of Evangel Church, another relatively low-level pimp, but big in Prince Georges county in Maryland, hosted a couple of classes for the University. Click here to take a look at some of the course materials. And notice the titles:

1. How to Make Your Tithe Start, Stay and Grow
2. Getting the Pledge - Makin’ It Happen
3. Love Offerings, How to Increase Your Salary
4. discovering Creative Evangelism, Your Church - The Future

These clowns don’t see it as a matter of God moving on people’s hearts. Their approach is how can I make it happen? How can I get a bigger salary? How can I make people pledge and then make them pay on the pledge? And how can I manipulate people into paying their tithes instead of keeping it for themselves?

But look at what else the Bishop of Evangel is hawking in unison with Mr. Chitwood. Click here to take a look at the general agenda. But more than that, notice the approach they seem to be taking to the whole thing.

How to Double or Triple Tithes - a Proven Method. I thought the whole thing was about men and women being obedient to Christ, not responding to a technique.

How to triple your love offering. I thought the idea of moving from a salary to a “love offering” was an exercise in faith. But these clowns seem to see it as a move that is calculated to increase their salaries.

How to make your church financially wealthy. The premise here is you can preach a better sermon if you’re not stressed over the finances.

How to establish a Friends day to increase your membership drive by 60%. Again, no thought of God having anything to do with it. It’s all about what I can do to make it happen. Never mind the church growing as God brings an increase. We need to twist God’s arm just a little.

How the spiritual condition of your church may depend on the financial position. Don’t they have it a little backwards. Since when did one’s spiritual condition depend on their financial condition? Is this a reference back to the idea that money can give us peace?

But it gets better. Look at what some of the graduates of Pimp U have to say about the program. Click here to see for yourself.

But wait, it gets better. They’re also offering a millionaire program. Take a look here to see the advertising.

And better than that, take a look at some of the people who attended the seminar. Click here to see them.

Right at the top of the list is Clarence (Let’s worship in a parking lot for now) McClendon. One of the more notable attendees is John Avanzini, one of the Grand Poopahs of the Word of Faith heresies.

Remember, you are known by the company you keep. If you hang with heretics, you will become a heretic. If you sit under a known lie long enough, you will not be able to tell the truth if it jumps up and bites you on the butt.

Whatever else you get out of occasionally visiting the site, I want you to remember this: These men and women don’t care jack about you. They see you as a business opportunity, a way of enriching themselves at your expense. They even go to school (Pimp U) to learn how to more efficiently take your money and trick you into thanking them for taking it.

They depend on two things - your inability or unwillingness to read the Bible for yourself, and your ungodly, or at the very least misplaced, desire for financial prosperity.

Does God mind if I am rich? I don’t believe so. But he doesn’t want those riches chased at the expense of the truth of the Gospel. And unfortunately, the single characteristic of these pimps is exactly that, a preaching of wealth at the expense of the truth of the Gospel.

Beware of those who would market you.

By the way, if you want to do Post Graduate studies in Pimpology, there’s a school for that too. Take a look at it by clicking here.

Mel in my own research I’ve notice a lot of the Prosperity Preachers have graduated from Oral Roberts University. Do we know the titles of their classes or if they hold classes on obtaining finances from the flock? It’s interesting though that folks keep signing up for his university eventhough it’s well known he has proclaimed many prophcies.

But the above posting just took the cake.

Re: Pimp U—Calling All Saints: PLEASE take another look at this recommendation: FIRST, the Head of the TRUE Church is speaking: Matthew 5:33-36—”Again, you have heard that the ancients were told, ‘You shall not make false vows, but shall fulfill your vows to the Lord.’ (34) But I say to you MAKE NO OATH AT ALL, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God, (35) or by the earth, for it is the footstool of His feet, or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King. (36) Nor shall you make an oath by your head for you cannot make one hair white or black. But let your statement be ‘Yes, yes’ or ‘No, no’; and anything beyond these is of evil.”

“2. Getting the Pledge - Makin’ It Happen”, and “3. Love Offerings, How to Increase Your Salary” are in blatant opposition to and open defiance of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. These men and women are liars and thieves just like their father!!!!!!! So whose report will you believe: Jesus in Matthew 5 above, or these filthy sepulchers?

Dear Sidney:

In addition to Oral Roberts University, most of the pimps in the W of F movement graduated from an Internet school named “Suffield University.”

This school gives out fake degrees purely from “Life Experience” and not real classroom time. Men like Fred Price, The Hilliards, Creflo Dollar, and many others all have their “Doctorate” degrees from this so-called school. The bottom line is the word of faith movement is a “well oiled machine”, and the players and pimps of this movement have enough demonic influence to decieved the un-discerning. What a pity.

BT

(MN: I didn’t actually see a reference to the Kings of WoF at Suffield. But Suffield does appear to be a degree mill. )

Hi God’s Girl!! The poster is referring to this verse…..

Phl 2:12 ΒΆ Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Of course, some folks wrest it to say that we have to work for our salvation, but the Greek for the term “work out” is to “render one fit for a thing”.

We have Salvation as a free gift, but we are to (through the Holy Spirit) diligently apply ourselves to working the Free Gift IN us OUT where it impacts our lives. It’s a call to holiness through the Spirit.

Concerning FICU…there has been some discussion on the site before about “degree mills.” There was also brief discussion of “mainstream” schools and thier ability to properly and soundly educate students in religious studies, theology, or divinity (dependent upon how the school characterizes their program offerings).

My question is, does anyone have suggestions of schools that are “properly” educating students in this area of study (Keeping in mind that an incoming or current student should be sound in their beliefs prior to entering school)? I don’t recall any being mentioned in previous discussions…Thanks…

Dear Tweet:

It is my honor to be able to recommend schools of higher learning in theology. Here are a few to consider and look up:

1. Dallas Seminary, Dallas, Texas
2. Talbot School of Theology, LaMirada, California
3. Any of the Southern Baptist Seminaries
4. Moody Bible Institute, Chicago, Illinois
5. Columbia International University, Columbia, SC
6. Phildelphia College of the Bible, Philly, Penn
7. Reformed Theological Seminary, Orlando, Fla
8. Knox Seminary, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla

There are others of course, but in my opinion, these are the crop of the cream in terms of theological training. What ever you do, stay away from the “Historical Black School Seminaries” as they do not believe in anything! It would be a complete waste of your money ($35,000 in most programs) to be taught that “The Bible isn’t the authoritative Word of God!”

Melvin, this is very ironic. I just had a discussion with a friend of mine about church financing and how most churches twist and lie on the bible to get money out of people. I was told by the assistant pastor, of a church i used to attend, that he was lead into the ministry when the Bishop came to him and offered a salary that was TWICE of what he was making at his current job. It was interesting that I heard nothing about the opportunity to lead others to Christ or about being excited to learn more about the scriptures. This article further proves what i was thinking.

Thanks

Melvin, re: PU—There’s something definitely rotten in Denmark here. The Meares’s “ministry” was once a Siamese bedfellow of the long-time foundering Chapel Hill Harvester Church “ministry” (aka Cathedral of the Holy Spirit) in Decatur, GA. “Bishop” Earle Paulk and his biological brother, Don, may be related to the Meares, if my memory serves me correctly. Could they possibly be related in the financial-needs realm due to past years of publicly alleged ****** CHHC? (My stomach turns (literally) ea. time I try to vocalize their other name, Cathedral of the Holy Spirit—such a misnomer.) Let’s suppose that there was a certain man(we’ll call him Mr Smith) who started a family business with he, his wife and let’s say 3 children. Over the years the family grew tremendously as the children had children and their children’s children had children. They become well known as they were very respected and prosperous in their community. The day would come when the elder Mr and Ms Smith died and their dying wish was that the decendants would carry on the family business in a respectful way as they always dealt fairly with their customers. In his will he appoints who he wants to run the business and even writes bylaws on how he wants it done. Well as the years go by some of the new generation of decendants come along and publically embarrasses the family name by saying this and that about the matricarch and patriarch(the founders) and dealt unfairly with customers to the point where shame has come on the family name.

Now ask yourselves this question: Should those that remain faithful to the family name just keep silent or should they deal with those that bring shame on the family name? If you were part of this family and saw how the family name has been dragged down and your customer base has changed due to how your family members are doing business, would you say something? After all, they are bringing in millions hand over fist even though the family name is being destroyed in the process.

What is my point you may ask? Well Jesus left a will called His Word(the Bible) and in that bible were instructions on how he wanted His Church to operate and how His people should carry on His will as he instructed. Sure, He does not mind us having things but not at the expense destroying your soul. We should not be ashamed of the Gospel(Rom 1:16) because of those who go forth and rob God’s people. God said the wheat and the tares will grow together and He will separate them in the end

How long will we have to suffer watching these men and women milk the sheep while other sit around and say we should just pray for them. I would hate for someone to rob me while my wife and kid hold the door for them to take my belongings out of the house. How long will we have to endure hollywood make fun of us in movies and TV shows because even they know that these men and women are fleecing the flock(Luke 16:8).
How long will we have to endure those that are still without reject Christ because of what they see in the pulpits and pews?

When will we realize that those that are telling you to have faith and give to them, really don’t have faith because if it wasn’t for you, THEY would not have what they have. It is easy to tell someone to have faith and sow a seed when they are wearing $1000.00 suits and driving bentleys, flying in private jets. and living in mansions. How did they get their millions? Did they work for it? Did they invest wisely? Did they invent a product? I would venture to sya that most would answer no to all of these questions. In most cases they started a ministry and got YOU to give to them. Why can’t they teach YOU to start a ministry and get people to give to YOU?(and I’m not saying this is right but for the sake of my point I say this) Wanna know why? BECAUSE THEY NEED MEMBERS AND YOU ARE A MEMBER THAT WILL GIVE TO THEM!!! AGAIN, THEY NEED YOU, or should I say YOUR FINANCES!! If sowing seeds work(and giving does work if given in the right motive) then why do you have to give to them? Can, you not give to a needy person instead? The wealthy preacher already have plenty of money so why are you giving to him. He may say, “this is good ground”. HOW DO YOU KNOW THIS? Have you spent time with him in his ministry? Isn’t giving to the poor also good ground?

Let me quit here because I am getting riled up again, I did not mean to go into a long post. Forgive me Melvin.

They have no fear of God as they cloak just like the fig tree that Jesus cursed and will soon meet the same demise. If I may say, the many folks are professing God in a secular platform, than most Christians (including preachers). I was watching an episode of the Tyra Show, and the guest were Mary J. Blige, Jada Pinkett Smith, and the founder of Carol’s Daughter. Basically, they were sharing their life stories, achievements, and their partnership with this bath and body company. Okay, the point that I am making is that towards the end of the show, Mary J. Blige was confessing, basically, that she depends of God for her source of strength and direction in her life.

She mentioned God many times, and she was not ashamed, very straightforward about how God is a very present guide in her life. Watching the show, they had a platform to talk about their talents, their lives, and to endorse a product in which they have financial backing in. And, then, Mary J. Blige was open about her relationship with God.

In a recent post on this site, I commented on how Pastor Paula White is now serving as a life coach on the Tyra Show. Pastor White’s testimony was watered down, and her attitude and body language was really reserved and hesitant. Not once did she mention the name of God, or how she was leading one of the largest congregations in the country. Upon providing counseling to the troubled young women on the show, on live television, she encouraged them to get counseling, not God, not prayer counseling.

Another thing, I am so bothered by the pimp mentality of many churches and congregations. Upon receiving an email from Dr. Jamal Bryant’s conference in the Bahamas for next year, I was appalled. Why mucst church folk pay for regular registration, preferred seating, a pastor’s excursion, or a first ladies excursion?

Then there will be an opportunity for a small group of partners to meet with Jamal Bryant. There is also a form for vendors who wish to participate. This is no more than a regular concert/vacation outing disguised as a religious event. So much money to be had in the name of Jesus.

I have a sibling residing in the Tampa, Fl area, and she says that she stopped attending gospel concerts, because there were more vendor tents, and the secular feeling more than anointed folk reaching the hurt, lost, and troubled in worship and prayer.

The church is looking more and more like the world. And it is a shame. When I listen to the radio, there are more promotions about Christian concerts which are very confusing because they sound more like an R&B gathering. Why should we pay any money to hear a word and worship Christ, at such a fee. A fee spend time with a pastor? Preferred seating to seat near the pastor? Having to pay for children to attend the religious events, and they need Jesus like we all do?

Jesus help us all. I sowed into “good” ground. Like in my email that I sent to Mr. Melvin: yes, I have a home to live in, my health, and my daughter. After sending so much money to the last TBN telethon, no I did not get the husband, new house, or car, nor am I debt-free. Bummer….

They have cooks, YES cooks, about a staff of cooks at least 10 or more, they pay construction workers who curse, and smoke cigarettes, in the church premises. The workers figured out that, if they(evangel………) are pimping the people of God, they should be able to pay me( a cussing construction worker, who enjoys sin) my salary. Man I was there, they have security for the youth church(camelot, which is a different building altogether) They do proms, parties, church service, churches rent from them, they have banquets, dinners etc. Why won’t there be unbelieving cooks, construction workers, security. I tell you why, they aint worried about your soul, they are worried about your money. They dont care for the souls of the staff, they just worried about building big edifices, and competing with churches.

I knew there was something about this man. My first time seeing or noticing him was a couple of days ago. Pastor Bloomer was preaching at his Church and he was really lifting Meares up, as if he was a god. Stating how he always wanted to preach at his church and how he’s the greatest, etc etc. Finally, they showed Meares and I was like there is something about that man, he does not look like a man of God, definitely not like Bloomer was going on. There was something in his eyes. After watching that show, it was Bloomers show on the Word Network, I decided Bloomer might not be a Man of God either or he is blind as well. I just logged on to your site, went through your name stroll and went to his name and there he was! I knew it! I saw that face again. I just didn’t remember the name Bloomer said and his face didn’t look familiar either. I wanted to look him up right after the show but I didn’t have his name. Great job Melvin on keeping everyone informed!

TO B.K.: The “eyes” have it; you said, “There was something in his eyes.” This line stood out from your post on Geo. Bloomer and Donnie Meares. I’ve said it for many years: look into the eyes of these individuals; e.g., photos of Carlton Pearson, Cashflow Dollar, Bennie Hen, Thomas Weaks (J. Bind-Em’s husband), ex-Pastor Haggard, Eddie Long, Joyce Meyer, etc. There is definitely another spirit residing inside these vessels. They needlessly exalt one another, as you pointed out.

The Lord says in Jeremiah 23:31-32—”Therefore behold, I am against the prophets,” declares the LORD, “who use their tongues and declare, ‘The Lord declares.’ (32) “Behold, I am against those who have prophesied false dreams,” declares the LORD, “and related them, and led My people astray by their falsehoods and RECKLESS BOASTING; yet I did not send them or command them, nor do they furnish this people the slightest benefit,” declares the LORD.”

One thing is consistent with these wolves in sheep’s clothing: they rightfully refer to the brick-and-mortar building as their “church.” Thank God for HIS Eternal Wisdom from eternity past through eternity future! Though pompous men and women continue to call their lands after their own names (Psalm 49:11), WE are GOD’S dwelling place on earth; therefore NO STINKING FLESH CAN EVER “OWN” THE CHURCH OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST!

Indeed, the “eyes” do have it. Their woeful stares come from gluttonously imbibing of all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, [which] is not from the Father, but is from the world. All of the above have blinded their eyes.

The LOVE of money is the root of all evil. It is not hard to see clearly what these mammonist who call themselves WOF preachers are in love with based on the most common word that slithers out of their mouths…M-O-N-E-Y. They have lied to the people of GOD so long that they are either under strong delusions or just plain old reprobates who GOD has already cut off.
It is a major contradiction, but most ministers, who are considered to be “faith” preachers or teachers actually are teaching Christians to follow the law (10% tithing) instead of giving through “faith” as they purpose in their own heart. Remember the just shall live by “faith” and the law is not of “faith.” Read Galatians 3:11-13

Remember, knowing this, that the law (10% tithing) was not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient…I Timothy 1:9.

So whenever a preacher tells you that if you do not pay a 10% tithe, then you are robbing God, in reality the preacher is saying that you are lawless, disobedient and not righteous before the Lord Jesus Christ.
Additionally, the preacher is saying that he doesn’t trust that you know how to operate in your giving by faith that is why you must follow the law (10% tithing).

Further more, once you pay a 10% tithe and consider it as such, you are in essence agreeing and attesting to the fact that you are indeed lawless, disobedient and not righteous before the Lord Jesus Christ.

TO 21stcenturyapostle: Concerning the WOF (Wolves of Falsehood) , you said, “They have lied to the people of GOD so long that they are either under strong delusions or just plain old reprobates who GOD has already cut off.”

I say, “And let the Church say AMEN!”

When D.Cloud was located in Maryland he use to have a pretty good radio show. ( not deep in the word at the time). Me and my wife decided to visit and they gave out visiter cards that asked you the same old stuff, Name, age, how long you’ve been saved. But at the bottom of the card they asked for your Social security number. My wife and I thru out the card and after praise and worship we were out of there.
