Jakes and Time Mag Cover

Just in case you don’t fully understand where these pimps stand with respect to your lives and the lives of those you love, watch the 15 second clip at the bottom of the posting.

This is a clip from the program one of the networks broadcast about a month ago (back in September 2006). It finally appeared on YouTube so I can make sure all the readers see how fantastically foolish America’s greatest preacher (T. Dexter Jakes) actually is.

The question was: Why doesn’t the church address the issue of AIDS? His answer has got to be just about as weak as his attempt to sound like he was kind of saying maybe he didn’t exactly not support the doctrine of the Trinity - remembering that the word Trinity never shows up in the Bible and really it’s not that important because you have to have a relationship with God first anyway. (His words, not mine)

Jakes sidesteps the whole issue of morality by stupidly and self-importantly saying “The Bible doesn’t talk about AIDS.” Heck, the Bible doesn’t talk about Herpes, Venereal Diseases, Drive-by shootings, or Racism. But that doesn’t seem to stop him and the other ne’er do wells from babbling on about some of those things and taking your money while they do it. It doesn’t even say anything about abortion but I don’t think he’d have a problem preaching on that. And it certainly doesn’t talk about one church serving as a covering (with ten percent of the covered church funds going into the coffers of the covering church) but he has made more than a small fortune pushing that idea through his “Pater” pyramid scheme.

When T. Dexter had a chance to talk about the rewards of holy living, and the results of unrighteousness, he wimped out as large as Joel “Willow Boy” Osteen. Walk away from these pimps and find a church where you are encouraged to trust God to guide you in holy living, not receiving a hundred-fold blessing for sowing a supposed seed into their cookie sheet shallow “ministries.”

These men and women don’t care about you. Other than teaching men how to wear their emotions on their sleeves and dance around like a bunch of women, getting in touch with their feminine side or the child within, they really don’t have that much to offer. They sweat, they cry, they shout and holler. But after all is said and done, a whole lot more is said than done.

Don’t count on the big dogs to help you to understand the relevance of True Chirstianity in your day to day living. All they want you do do is touch your neighbor, say “I’ve got my breakthrough” and dance in the aisles. Don’t count on them to teach you how to truly care for and love someone with AIDS or a child who has lost one or both of their parents to AIDS.

Dear Lord God Jesus may the people see that your Word is truth which shall guide them in ALL understanding and wisdom concerning ALL THINGS.

Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.

But blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.

Jeremiah 14:14 Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spoke unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of naught, AND THE DECIT OF THEIR HEART.

Jesus said take heed that no man deceive you. A mark of a false teacher is they strive to go out of their way not to offend carnal people in order to have the approval of the world. Congratulation TD Jakes.

Matthew 23:15 Jesus said: Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, HYPOCRITES (pretenders)! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold (TWO TIMES) more the child of hell than yourselves.

Unfortunately many love to have it so.

Bondservant of the Lord Jesus Christ,

I thank the Lord that other saints of God are pulling up their bootstraps and jioning in the army of the Lord by preaching sound doctrine and exposing the workers of iniquity who rob widows houses by preaching and teaching the love of money (mammon) and the material blessings of God without living an obedient, surrendered, holy, and persecuted for the sake of the preaching the gospel life style.
I have personally been protesting T. D. Jakes in Atlanta with signs such as “Mega Mess T. D. Jakes money bastard” for a couple of years now and its good to know that other saints have had enough as well. Some may say, where is the love of God? but my scripture says that “Open rebuke is better than secret love.” Proverb 27:5. Also the scripture says referring to elders, “them that sin rebuke before all that others also may fear.” I Timothy 5:20.

I was recently at an assembly in Atlanta where G. Craig Lewis was scheduled to minister for two nights, but after he openly rebuked Canton Jones after his hip hop performance and (whether he knew it or not), the Pastor as well, G. Craig Lewis was strangely? not allowed back for the second night but praise God because the workers of darkness were exposed for what they really are. Besides I and other ministers with me were also kicked out the second night because of the Kirk Franklin rebuke fliers that we were passing out as well. The devil received a one-two of the anointing that exposed his hidden idolatry in the hearts of those who say that they are a part of the church.

Beloved,

God is calling the church, not churches. I hear where you are coming from, believe me. But what I also hear is disention in the ranks of God’s chosen. Beloved, that is the work of the enemy. Even when rebuking your brother, it should be done out of love. If I am being honest, I don’t see it. In this day and age, we cannot be a factioned army. If we remain, the enemy will win. We must recognize that the world is watching. For them, we are the only Christ they will know. So we must reflect Him in all that we do. If we see our brothers slipping, pull them off to the side and let them know so based strictly on the Word of God. In reference to money, the Word (not me or TD Jakes or others) speaks of prosperity. God in His Word has shown how He blesses His children (including financial blessings). If this is the just of what a preacher preaches, then I have a problem with that becuase my God is so much bigger. But it is absolutely a Biblical construct. We are King’s children. Surely Father has promised and will bless us. I say this with the love my Jesus showed me. God bless you all.

minister………your post is so replete with errata it’s hard to know where to start.

“God is calling the church, not churches”. Hmmmmmmm……..regardless of the heresy promulgated?? I think not. Some “churches” are not being called……they’re being judged.

“Dissention in the ranks”?? Thank God for it……Or should we all just join hands and sing “Kumbaya” with those who promote such rank heresy as “Christ suffered in hell to pay your sin debt, the cross was insufficient”, or “Man is a “little g” god”, or “All Christians should seek wealth”, or “Words are containers for faith”, or “Seed faith witchcraft”, etc etc.???

“We cannot be a factioned army”……We’re not. God’s remnant isn’t factioned a bit. They’re united by sound doctrine. Those who preach heresy aren’t part of the army.

“The enemy will win”. What an utterly ridiculous statement. Jesus said “The gates of hell shall NOT prevail”. You say……..”The devil may win unless we ignore apostasy and unite”.
No offense……….I’ll pick Jesus.

“If we see our brothers slipping, pull them off to the side and let them know so based strictly on the Word of God”.

How old are you??? These errant teachings and the money-grubbing ministers have been addressed ad infinitum over the years. They continue unabated, undeterred, and unrepentant. Besides, that is not the purposer of this site. It is to warn the believers, since the pimps have already refused correction from numerous sources for decades.

17 Now I beseech you, brethren, MARK THEM which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

As for this……..” God in His Word has shown how He blesses His children (including financial blessings).”

Please tell us why it doesn’t work in China……where they have faith enough to withstand torture, but apparently not enough to receive ca$h money. Or in Pakistan, where the faithful can apparently muster the faith to die as faithful martyrs, but apparently cannot generate enough faith to guarantee 3 square meals a day. Or in Iran, where daily believers have faith to face death and the confiscation of their money (rather than the accumulation of it), but not enough faith to get that new Land Rover.

An imbecilic assertion………….care to address the heroes of faith in Hebrews 11???

32 What more shall I say? For the time would fail me if I told of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and the prophets;

33 who, THROUGH FAITH subdued kingdoms, worked out righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,

34 quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, from weakness were made strong, grew mighty in war, and caused foreign armies to flee.

35 Women received their dead by resurrection. OTHERS WERE TORTURED (by faith), not accepting their deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection.

36 Others were tried by MOCKING AND SCOURGING , yes, moreover by BONDS AND IMPRISONMENT.

37 They were STONED. They were SAWN APART . They were TEMPTED. They were SLAIN with the sword. They went around in sheep skins and in goat skins; being DESTITUTE, AFFLICTED, ILL TREATED

38 (of whom the world was not worthy), wandering in deserts, mountains, caves, and the holes of the earth.

39 These all, having had testimony given to them THROUGH THEIR FAITH, didn’t receive the promise,

40 God having provided some better thing concerning us (Christ, NOT MONEY, as the next line makes clear) so that apart from us they should not be made perfect (this proves the “better thing” is our perfection together with them in Christ, Old and New Testament saints alike. Our “better thing” is the indwelling Christ……….not the overflowing checkbook).

I wonder why these faithful men and women didn’t know about the guarantees of prosperity you allude to?? Sure would have saved them a lot of trouble and pain.

Of course, God says that they stood by faith, yet all that occurred to them, your theology (and I use that word loosely) would see as a lack of faith and a work of the devil (poverty, sickness, death, loss, etc).

Yet God considers them the faithful elect……once again, I’ll take God’s definition. You have an American Gospel, not a Biblical one.

Once again……..

Sadly, after being exposed AGAIN for the fraud he is, those who claim to Know Christ will defend this charlatan. I have told people about this money preacher for YEARS and the only response I get is “judge not” or “stop touching God’s annointed” This guy is far from God’s annointed. 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 says “for such are false apostles, decietful workers, transforming themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, WHOSE END WILL BE ACCORDING TO THEIR WORKS” This man will never tell people to stop sinning and they won’t have to worry about AIDS. Of course, that won’t keep fuel in the jet or keep him living lavishly in gated communities. There is too much to say about this guy. Pastor Wooden from Upper Room COGIC at http://www.plwooden.org has a post about this interview. Worth checking out.

Mr. B, Im with you. The main problem is that the average Christian does not study the Bible. How can you hear false doctrine if you dont know the TRUTH?So many people are taken advantage of by these false teachers, hireling, spineless jellyfish preachers. Study for yourself and depend on GOD for understanding. I thank the Lord for a Pastor who teaches sound doctrine, and says from the pulpit, study this when you get home, on your own time, etc. I wish all churches were so fortunate. But this is a sign of the falling away. If your church is short on Jesus, RUN asap!!
I attend the URCOGIC and PL Wooden is my Pastor. I thank God for all preachers unafraid to preach the word!!

Weak…………ignorant………..cowardly………pathetic.

Somebody help a brother here……….AIDS is a sexual disease created and spread by those who have not kept their bodies pure, or their sexual urges constrained.

The Bible (despite what T.D. Jokes says) addresses the subject of sexual purity from Genesis to Revelation.

If those Biblical admonitions had been followed there would never have been AIDS to start with, it never would have spread, and if followed today will keep you from acquiring it and halt its deadly proliferation.

The Bible doesn’t address AIDS……….what a tool.

I guess we shouldn’t be surprised that he can’t find relevant passages about sexual sin and its consequences in the Bible though.

After all……………apparently he hasn’t found the verses that teach the Trinity, the proper role of a pastor, or the warnings of the eventual destruction of those who preach another Gospel for filthy lucre either.

Comment by Monwabisi
2006-10-12 15:30:58

People acquire Aids other than sexual immorality; it also spread by blood transfusions. Also many people do not know that AIDS virus has a patent and it is listed in the US register of biological warfare as part of the Special Virus Program. Wake up Saint!

Would you say the same thing to those who were victimized by the National Institute of Health who were injected with Syphllis, a sexually transmitted disease, to see how the disease would spread?

He is correct there is not a specific scripture that speaks about Aids or any other sexual transmitted disease however his minister training should have taught him about exegesis and hermeneutics. Hermeneutics referring to the proper application and interpretation of scripture in modern context.

(MN: Could you provide the patent number so I can go look it up? Thanks. )

Comment by GaryV
2006-10-12 23:35:00

Monwabisi………transfusions are responsible for an infinitessimal number of the AIDS cases in the world today. I refer you to the CDC website, since posting the relevant data here is not feasible.

If all transfusions stopped tomorrow, AIDS would still spread like wildfire due to its primary means of transmission, fornication……….so what is your point?? The fact remains that the Bible addresses the AIDS epidemic thoroughly……….which was the question addressed.

As for your AIDS virus patent…………does the US Government keep a publicly accessible database where we can go and see what’s going on with germ warfare?? Gee……….that’s great.

Is it next to the “Build Your Own Nuke” Gov’t website??

Fortunately, the “Construct Your Own Anti-Alien Tin Foil Hat” Gov’t website is still running……….

In response to your 3rd paragraph, if you would study Rom.1:25-32, you will see the perversion of humanity(sexually). Verse 27 shows that humanity would receive a recompense for his error. And the bible does teach that, the Lord will allow man to go his own way, only to prove to him that he is in a wrong direction and to turn back to Him. These scripture do not say the word “AIDS”, but it does teach you will reap what you sow. WE MUST TEACH JESUS CHRIST AND HIS ATONInG WORK!!!

That is most definitely the ear mark for Paula White “carnal minded help alone”. Because of her love of money and inordinate desire for fame she has made a decision NOT to preach the gospel of Christ which she was called by God to do, but instead she preaches the “gospel of the flesh and money.
This is not how she started out in her more humble beginnings, but that was before she sold her soul to Paul and Jan Crouch.

About three years ago, I was protesting (Jeremiah 11:7-10) Paula White outside of a convention center where she was extorting money from the saints (”Send $68.19 for Palm 68:19″). I was holding a sign that stated “Paula White Money Whore Repent” when a young man approached me and said what if that was somebody’s mother? After I began to further expose Paula White’s doctrine of devils, the young man then confessed that he was Paula White’s son and he didn’t think that my sign was very nice. He was also given one of the protest flyers with an expose’ of the extortion practices of Paula White on it.

I know that the public preaching of sound doctrine and public rebuke of her doctrines of devils affected her because I was told by different attendees that she addressed the issue about the flyers that were being passed out that night. To God be the Glory!!! More Saints of God need to publicly rebuke these false prophets and sorcerers. what? did I hear somebody mention Juanita-False Prophet-Bymun-Weeks?

Hi Melvin

I’d firstly like to thank you for standing up for Christ and speaking the TRUE Gospel that’s in the Bible. I was absolutely disgusted by the comment by bishop Jakes regarding aids not being in the bible as that is absolute garbage. Here is a bit of evidence to prove it.

In Romans 1:24-27 God clearly and directly speaks about homosexuality and sexual diseases i.e. AIDS AND OTHERS!!! If we focus on v27 the bible says (NIV) ‘In the same way the men abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, AND RECIEVED IN THEMSELVES THE DUE PENALTY FOR THEIR PERVERSION!!!! Now if this isn’t a direct reference to sexual diseases i.e. AIDS AND OTHERS I don’t know what is. So for bishop Jakes to say what he said is ridiculous.

Notice in v26 when God speaks about women being with women he doesn’t mention them recieving in themselves a penalty for their perversion (apart from going to HELL if they don’t REPENT). But when he speaks of mem with men he clearly says they will recieve IN THEMSELVES the penalty/punishment for their perversion. People of God this is clearly speaking of AIDS and other sexual diseases which end up being passed onto our women as well.

So do not believe bishop jakes comments because there false. Instead keep reading the word of God and the Holy Spirit will reveal all truths to you. God bless you all.

P.S. If anyone who reads this is homosexual I know what I’ve just said is a sensitive subject for you but please do yourselves a favor and RREEPPEENNTT!! Jesus loves you and wants to turn you from a sinner into a SAINT.

Dear Richard: Again, it took another man of God (like Melvin & other Truthseekers on this site) to truthfully address males and their sex partners–especially other males–about the AIDS pandemic. It’s an abomination to the One True Living God that males such as T. Dexter and J. Osteen can’t see the Bible for what it is–life in the here and now and eternal.

Romans 1:27 is where the rubber meets the road. My NAS Bible states: “…and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, mem with men committing indecent acts and RECEIVING IN THEIR OWN PERSONS THE DUE PENALTY OF THEIR ERROR.” To all you homosexuals out there, notice the word “DUE,” meaning it’s yours by virtue of the fact you bought and PAID for it! If you think this is “gay” bashing, talk to the Author!
Thanks Richard for your boldness and Godly love for for His highest creation.

I laughed because in the clip….he KNEW he was faulty. When he addressed the issue, He said….the bible doesn’t talk about AIDS, we don’t have scriptures about AIDS….I mean he said it so fast that a conventional listener or someone curious would be caught by the smooth talk alone. I wonder how his wife feels about this? Mr. Jakes is WELL aware of what he is doing. To sell out the Bible, and refuting its authority with regard to his ministry to not offend any homosexuals or gays that have made him wealthy, and do his side work.

The first time I saw him was in person (1999). I had JUST been saved and filled with the Holy Ghost….and I remeber when me and some brothas went to see him. It was an absolute crowd to get it, and I am like who is this guy? Then before anything….people are running up to the altarand dropping money even before he preached….he was runnin around hollerin and shoultin out the amounts of money that each people would bring, and started reading off checks…..then some female comedian went up and gave him a check for like 3 or 5 G’s and basically announced herself and said she challenged people to give as much as they can…..so it became a full-fledged contest after that, and the man was bathed in money. I could not believe it.

Here I was, a BRAND spankin’ new convert and I was completely discouraged and shocked. A mature brotha tried to comfort me, but that sent shockwaves.

i knew something was wrong then…..I probably couldn’t quote a scripture to you at that point, but that is indeed proof that the Holy Ghost is truly the teacher.

(John 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.)

Jeremiah 31:33

But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their INWARD parts, and write it IN THEIR HEARTS; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

With all these titles being given to these people, such as bishop, pastor, spiritual father, evangelist, psalmist, Doctor, teacher, prophet, and life coach, you would think they would would have a revelation of what God is doing in the U.S. when a huricane would hit FL; or an earthquake in CA. as much as God speak to them, He never reveals anything for the nation. it is always about theor pockets.

I’m glad to see more Christians talking about this crucial issue. We have also dealt with this issue over at Reformed Blacks of America: “AIDS in Black America: Calling Black Churches.”

(MN: By the way, there is also a complete recording of the “Out of Control - AIDS in Black America Documentary at the site. Check it out if you never saw the original broadcast. )

Hey Mel, just found this hott off the presses, Dont know if you have seen this or not.

Jakes Raising AIDS Awareness
DALLAS, TX , On Saturday, December 2, 2006 Bishop T.D. Jakes, the Metroplex Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and The Potter’s House Counseling Center launched , It’s Time to Step Up! , a comprehensive national and international HIV/AIDS awareness campaign that targets the faith community, women and minority populations. The kick-off rally at The Potter’s House featured free on- site HIV testing, and in an effort to encourage the community to test, Bishop Jakes and The Potter’s House associate pastors will also publicly test for the disease.
“More has to be done,” says Bishop Jakes, “to halt the spread of this preventable and treatable disease and to address these frightening circumstances in the lives of all our brothers, sisters and children wherever they may live. We believe everyone has a role to play in educating the community about the challenges and issues surrounding this pandemic. As one of the largest predominately African-American churches in the nation, The Potter’s House is stepping up and taking action as part of a national and global offensive against HIV/AIDS.”

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that each year approximately 40,000 U.S. citizens are newly infected with HIV/AIDS, the equivalent of 4.5 new infections each hour. It’s Time to Step Up! is born out of the success of several HIV/AIDS workshops and testing events sponsored by The Potter’s House and held in 2006, including HIV testing of more than 600 attendees of MegaFest 2006. It’s Time to Step Up! will advocate and encourage HIV/AIDS awareness, education, prevention, testing and optimal treatment and serve as a call to action to the faith community.

Representing less than a quarter (13%) of the U.S. population, African Americans reportedly account for approximately half of the people currently diagnosed with HIV and AIDS. “From our very young to our most senior citizens, African Americans are dying prematurely and with greater frequency as a result of HIV/AIDS,” says Bishop Jakes. “Beyond our nation’s shores, AIDS has reached epidemic proportions, particularly so in Africa where an unprecedented number of orphaned children are literally raising themselves.” Bishop Jakes welcomed a number of celebrity guests, including gospel singer Dave Hollister and The Swaziland Redemption Choir of Swaziland, Africa. Choir members, all of whom are HIV positive, travel the world raising HIV/AIDS awareness.

“Twenty-five years after AIDS was made a national issue, the HIV infection is reportedly the No. 2 cause of death in the African-American community,” says Dr. Nicole McCann, Director of Counseling Services at The Potter’s House. “As a result, the faith community is challenged to rise above our preconceptions about HIV/AIDS and demonstrate unconditional love for all of humanity.”

It’s Time to Step Up! is supported in part by Pfizer Inc.

I’m think TD should be able to find the Biblical answer to AIDS in about 6 seconds…………men zip your pants, women cross your legs, husbands love your wives, wives love your husbands. You know……..the Bible.

But it LOOKS better to have the world see you as “progressive” and “thoughtful” in dealing with this crisis………..as if free condoms and “education”(as if they don’t already know all this) can circumvent the effects of unrepented sexual sin.

The answer is to offer these folks the GOSPEL, undiluted, and unapologetically.

But TD doesn’t have the ‘nads to do it.

Are we sure TD doesn’t stand for “Testicular Deficiency”??

“”education”(as if they don’t already know all this) ”

am i correct in thinking you mean AIDS education (and other related topics)? if that is the case, you would be surprised at just how much people don’t know…there are quite few adults that are grossly misinformed and therefore pass that same wrong information along to young people. we recently had a 2-day abstinence seminar at our church (notice i said ABSTINENCE, and not sex-ed or STD-ed…) and one session was strictly for the parents…some of the things they were talking about and asking had me floored….

Hi Tweet!!

Just exactly how many people do you suppose don’t know that promiscuous sex elevates the possibility of contracting AIDS??

If they want to educate AND promote condom use to prevent AIDS, I suggest they start by educating these dingbats that the latex in condoms does diddly-squat, since the virus is far smaller than the microscopic voids in the latex of the condoms.

We’ve had 30 years of AIDS education aimed at the gay community, yet the incidents of AIDS in gay males is skyrocketing. You can’t educate someone out of sin………only Christ can free them.

And to have supposed “ministers” of Christ like Tricky Ricky Warren and Tricky D Jakes ardently advocating anything less is pathetic. It’s nothing but a means of garnering political power, fame, and the respect of a corrupt world.

Hi Mrs Mav……….I mis-typed. I meant 3 decades (80s,90s,2000s) rather than 30 years. The rumblings were out there around 1982………25 years is plenty of time to assess the effectiveness of the Condom Solution and “education”.

Especially at this point (after all these years, and with all the tools of communication at our disposal), if the worldwide, omnipresent, saturation methodology of information on the disease hasn’t produced results, it’s well past time to realize that you can’t educate people out of sin.

That shouldn’t be a shock, because sin is not a product of ignorance. It’s a product of our nature. Man’s nature doesn’t change via education. Education merely affords him more sophisticated means of rationalizing his sin and minimizing its impact upon himself (temporarily).

Once again, lest I be misunderstood, I am a STRONG advocate of education. I even desire that AIDS education continue and expand.

BUT……….education is not THE answer. Christ is. Education does help. But it cannot cure what ails the nature of man, and that sin nature is why the epidemic continues virtually unabated.

And to have ministers of the Gospel jump on the condom train, with nary a whisper about Christ, is pathetic. It’s a sell out. It’s cowardly. It’s about gain in the world’s eyes.

Yeah, I think he realized, that he sounded dumb with his God didnt put aids in the bible comment, and he’s doing damage control, to cover up.

but if he aint preachin, “FLEE FORNICATION” it’s meaningless.
I think the biggest crock out there in the church today is the teaching that they are going to do it anyway, so at least tell them to wear a condom. And they are saying this in the church. So it is left up to those of us who believe in truth to continue to sound the alarm, no only on false teachers, but also share the gospel, and not in some watered down, New House New car version. But the absolute truth of the word of God.

Dead on with your comment, blinks99…

Sad thing, though, is that the mentality that people should be supplied with what they need to sin (i.e. promoting the false mentality of safe sex outside of marriage, as if sex was merely a physical thing with physical consequences like diseases/unwanted pregnancies only when in reality its spiritual…and no one can stop the wide range of spiritual consequences, like losing the ability to truly be intimate with someone or being one with people you’re tied to needlessly, that come from it…1 Corinthians 6:12-18) rather than warnned since they’re going to sin anyway rather than warning them will continue as long as people choose to see sin and the dangers thereof from the prespective of man rather than of God. If you notice, apart from acknowledging the various passages in scripture concerning sexual immorality in both the Old and New Testament, no one who chooses to maintain silence on the issue and claims to be for Christ mentions the warnings that Jesus Himself gave concerning sexual immorality. Even if the Bible never addresses things in code names like Aids or Sleeping Around/Living Together or even taboo subjects such as fondling/masturbation, the Word itself gives principles concerning how a believer, called by the Lord to be holy/pure asHe is (1 Peter 1:13-25), should behave his or her own self and how we, like you’re saying should flee from it (1 Corinthians 6, 1 Thessalonians 4, 2 Timothy 2:22-26, and many others). Not only that, but there are way too many instances in the Bible where the issues of sexual immorality…not just the acts but the things leading up to them…are discussed in detail (Proverbs 5 and 7, and take the storries of the lives of Samson, or David/Amnon and Tamar and Solomon and so many others who played around with sexual sin and got burned by it…even in instances where the Word may not explicitly say it was wrong, the consequenes of their actions alone show the destructiveness/evil of it. Furthermore, again even if phrases such as “Aids” or whathave you are never mentioned in the Bible, the Word and Jesus Himself made many mentions of the dangers of lust…which as John Piper said is “sexual desire minus holiness toward/honor for God or your neighbor”…and it’s lust that we’re commanded by the Word to not even have a hint of to begin with(Ephesians 5:3-4) since, like Jesus made clear, anything promoting lust is what leads to sexual sin/destruction to begin with and what should be avoided at all costs:

-Matthew 5:27-30-
Adultery
27″You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’[a] 28But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.

I definately feel where you’re coming from, but until we as a church begin to see sexual sin and even sexuality from the perspective of the One who made it and take seriously the consequences (temporary and eternal) that come from it, what hope is there really for improvement?

In light of all of the false solutions given to those dealing with sexual immorality, I think that Steve Gallagher of “Pure Life Ministries” states it best in an article concerning the issue:The Dangerous Mindset of Lust

By Steve Gallagher

The Dangerous Mindset of Lust

By Steve Gallagher

In spite of the fact that sexual sin was widespread under the surface in the Church, it was hardly ever discussed openly in 1986 when I founded Pure Life Ministries. Men who struggled were terrified that if they were discovered they would be ostracized by fellow church members. The fear was legitimate.

Gratefully, this has changed, and today sexual sin is talked about openly. Those who struggle are no longer stigmatized and treated as outcasts as they once were. After all, lust is “Every Man’s Battle.” Indeed, the new catch-phrase in the Church is: “God hates the sin but loves the sinner.”

Yes, much has changed for the good in the past 18 years. And yet, I fear that the pendulum has swung too far in the opposite direction. Could it be that in our attempt to show compassion to those bound up in sin that we have minimized the evil nature of the sin? In our rush to assure fallen men that “God loves the sinner,” have we forgotten that He also “hates the sin?” Are we giving men the wrong message that God really isn’t too concerned about wickedness?

Unlike many today, Jesus spoke of lust in the most sobering and even frightening terms. For instance, we are all familiar with the passage dealing with lust and masturbation in the Sermon on the Mount:

You have heard that it was said, “You shall not commit adultery;” but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye makes you stumble, tear it out and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. If your right hand makes you stumble, cut it off and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to go into hell. (Matthew 5:27-30)

Before we blow over these well-known (and to many, worn out) words, we should stop to examine an important term Jesus used in this passage: stumble (Gk. skandalizo). It seems as though Jesus is saying, “If you occasionally have a spiritual lapse, you must sever the cause of it lest you be sent to hell.” How could that be the case? Would Jesus really send a man to hell because he “stumbles” in sin every now and then? Since these words don’t seem to line up with our ideas about God’s grace (”God loves the sinner”), most people tend to think that Jesus really didn’t mean what He said. But I want to say that Jesus made no mistakes in His statements. He said exactly what He meant to say and it is very dangerous to assume otherwise.

One of the reasons these words aren’t taken very seriously by many men today is that the English translation used here is very weak. The Greek term skandalizo is much more alarming than our English term stumble. Perhaps glancing at a couple of other verses where this Greek word is used will give us a better sense of what it really means:

“And in a similar way these are the ones on whom seed was sown on the rocky places, who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with joy; and they have no firm root in themselves, but are only temporary; then, when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, immediately they fall away (skandalizo).” (Mark 4:16-17)

“And at that time many will fall away (skandalizo) and will deliver up one another and hate one another.” (Matthew 24:10)

In the context of these two passages, we can see that this term refers to spiritual apostasy. But is that really what Jesus is talking about? Isn’t this term also used in a less dramatic way? Yes, and that is precisely the point. The strength of Jesus’ statement about lust and masturbation should be understood in direct correlation to each individual’s situation.

For instance, if we are talking about a godly man who “walks with the Lord,” but then–in a moment of uncharacteristic weakness–succumbs to temptation and lusts or masturbates, but repents and gets back on track, that would rightly be termed “stumbling.” On the other hand, the word stumble would not be the appropriate term to use for the man who regularly indulges in lust or masturbation. His sin is causing him to fall away from the living God.

Many men I have dealt with over the years have deceived themselves about their sin. They like to say that they “struggle” with lust or masturbation, when the truth is that there really isn’t any struggle going on at all: they regularly give over to the passions of their flesh. Peter described men like this in the Church of his day: “They have eyes full of harlotry, insatiable for sin. They beguile and bait and lure away unstable souls. Their hearts are trained in covetousness (lust, greed)… Forsaking the straight road they have gone astray…” (II Peter 2:14-15 AMP)

This is the sort of man who I believe Jesus is addressing in this passage: men who are habitually sinning. They don’t occasionally slip into the gutter; they live there. It would be very foolish for such men to minimize the gravity of Jesus’ words in this passage. He only used the term hell in a handful of occasions; in this case he used it twice. The implication of His words is unmistakable.

The deception many fall prey to is that since they remain faithful in their church attendance, they can’t be considered as apostates. A backslider is someone who has thrown off all semblances of Christianity and is living in open sin. However, much of the Bible is taken up with the hypocrisy of those who “honor Me with their lips but their hearts are far from Me.”

The context of Jesus’ statements in Matthew 5 revolves around the heart, the inward life. The point Jesus made that is even though a man may not be committing actual fornication the very fact that his heart is full of lust makes him just as guilty as if he were actually practicing it. Thus, it is possible for an individual to fall away from God in his heart even though he still maintains an outward semblance of religion.

The true telling factor of whether a man will face the terrible sentence pronounced by “He who has been given authority to execute judgment,” is not whether or not he is sitting in church every week, but what is going on inside him. Those who have “gone astray” and “fallen away” in their hearts, would do well to drop to their knees and cry out to God for a spirit of repentance. God can restore innocence to every heart that truly desires it , truly cries out to Him for it.”(http://www.purelifeministries.org/Unchained/2006/Jul_06/Articles/072406_SG_Dangerous_Mindset.htm, or http://www.purelifeministries.org)

Mav….AIDS is at its highest levels ever among homosexuals. Higher than any other group.

You have to really “look” for these statistics though, because much of what we hear (concerning “pure” numbers) are manipulated as they are funded by many pro-organizations in support of homosexual lifestyles.

Their object is really to focus on the dilemma and not the heinous acts (undealt with sin) of men on men.

Basically a smokescreen. Sounds good, grabs your attention….but is not the heart (or core) of the matter. Almost the agenda of a fast talking preacher.

Crafty manipulation. The agenda is to focus upon ANY placebo group instead of the heart of the matter, we allow by our ignorance to be as guilty as anyone.

Kinda like silence (or even willfull ignorance) = consent.

Just as Jonah was instructed to deliver a message to the people of Ninveh, the fact that he initially ran from the issue made him just as susceptible as the Ninevites to being destroyed …..maybe even apparently more susceptible because he had an express charge from GOD to speak, but didn’t - and what nearly killed him was his own unwillingness to stand as he was instructed…..much like many of us today.

Ok I read the comments here, but here is an interesting question, Most answers here are in response to the question how do we prevent, it. I saw very few that dealt with dealing, and ministering to those with HIV and or AIDS? How do we
