And I bet that will be your excuse when you face Jesus. “They were not perfect so how can you expect me to be.” Get real please, we all know we are not perfect. What is your point? Are you one of these saints who is afraid to point out sin? I bet you only read the old testament because by you trying to come on this board and try to imply we are not to judge, shows me you have not read the New Testament at all. EVER HEARD OF RIGHTEOUS JUDGEMENT? Do you know what it means? Ever hear what Paul instructed the church at Corinth how to treat a fornicator? Was Paul perfect? Ever read in the New Testament about how we are to deal with certain people IN THE CHURCH who sin? No one is judging Steve, so go somewhere else with that timid christianity stuff. AND READ YOUR BIBLE, Better still, STUDY IT!!!

Since I know you haven’t read this I will give you the scripture for you to read. I know you haven’t gone anywhere as you will read this post. 1 John 1:9… Read it.

Funny thing though, I once asked my aunt this question. I asked: You are quick to say “aint nobody perfect” when your sin come into question, yet, when a christian sin, You will be the first to say, ” I thought you were a christian, you aint suppose to do that” Well, YOU SAID “aint nobody is perfect”, not me. She became angry and did as you did William, she went away. I can imagine visiting your church and the saints just live any kind of life contrary to the word(you name the sin), and you stand up and say, “well aint nobody perfect”. No WIlliam, Christians aint perfect, just forgiven. If we see Steve Harvey in Heaven, I am sure we all will rejoice. If we see you there, we will rejoice also. If we don’t see you or Steve, we won’t know anyway. SO again, what is your point?

Why are you so harsh? I know you are not perfect or without sin, so why can’t he make a comment on how christians believe they are perfect, because their are many who think they are. Why are people like you always telling somebody to study their bible? They know that already! Lighten up and get off of your cloud. You are no better than Steve!

Melvin,
I definitely understand your frustration with many pastors today as am I at times. But rather than make up nicknames that degrade these men and judge every move they make it would be more apropriate for you to express your frustration in a manner that doesn’t tear these “men of God” down. Is it right for you to call these men pimps?…is it right for you to search the internet to find dirt on them?….is it right for you to express your feelings in a manner which tears them down? The bible says in Philippians 2:3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Once again I do understand your frustration but does the means you take justify the end. In case that last statement only made sense to me, do you feel that bashing these men over the internet justify exposing the truth to there congregations.

Got a better one for ya. Is it right for TD Jakes to allow this man to poke fun at Christianity on a Christian stage? This is the same man who once said as much as he “cuss” HE can’t understand why Christian invite him to host their award show. How much longer will christians allow the world to poke fun at them only to just laugh it off. Funny thing is, you NEVER see ANYONE poke fun or talk badly about Allah or Muslims as much as we allow those to poke fun at Jesus and Christianity. Whenever a christian stands up for Jesus or Christianity, we have these “fans” and timid “church folks” who can’t discern day from night try to say we are judging or touch not mine anointed. I don’t know about anybody else but I am tired of it, Satan himself could appear in front of a lot of these “church folk” and proclaim he is Jesus and these people will say, “well we can’t judge him. Melvin, I told you they would come, as the famous quote from the movie Field of Dreams goes, “if you build it, they will come”. You have built this site to warn those of the wolves in sheep’s clothing, and indeed, they have came.

I was wondering could you reread my message and answer one of my questions. I will answer yours tho…Steve Harvey was not poking fun of any of our fundamental beliefs rather he was poking fun of some of the traditional things that go on in church. And the commment about he doensn’t understand why he gets invited was said by him really out of humility.

JP Caine: Please read IN CONTEXT what GOD says about men “in authority” (HE doesn’t even call them “men of God,” as you do); Job 34:18-22:

“Who says to a king, ‘Worthless one,’ to nobles, ‘Wicked ones’; who shows NO partiality to princes, nor regards the rich above the poor, for they all are the work of HIS hands?….For HIS eyes are upon the ways of a man, and HE sees all his steps. There is no darkness or deep shadow where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.”

Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? Like the fig tree that Jesus cursed: it was “cloaking,” meaning it was supposed to have figs (nourishment) because it had the leaves ONLY. So the pimps, pimpettes, profits, profitesses, the “just went,” not the sent, ALL look and sound “right” on the outside, but inside the vessels are poison, filth, lies, flies, deceit, and death. For out of the abundance of their hearts, their mouths speak.

Acts 10:34-35 “And opening his mouth, Peter said: ‘I most certainly understand now that GOD is not one to show partiality, but in every nation the MAN WHO FEARS HIM AND DOES WHAT IS RIGHT, is welcome to Him.

So as to cut off at the pass the notion that Elihu and Peter (mere men) were speaking: Romans 15:4 states: “For whatever was written in earlier times was written FOR OUR INSTRUCTION, that through perseverance and the ENCOURAGEMENT OF THE SCRIPTURES we might have hope.”

When Jesus came to earth in the flesh as God (Immanuel - “God in man”), his adjectives of man were “vipers, liars, thieves, murderers, hypocrites, robbers, hirelings, and wolves.” There was much more “name-calling” by God in the flesh. But don’t all the names sound applicable to today’s brood of so-called “preachers, profits, and priests”? God in the flesh knew/knows the heart of man, so Melvin is only saying exactly what his Heavenly Father has called him to say. HE fashioned Melvin’s personality to HIS liking, just as HE did Peter’s–the “swordsman.”

Since man’s heart has waxed worse and worse since Jesus, God in the flesh, walked this earth; and since the fear of God has waned, God is still speaking through HIS servants–made in HIS image and in HIS likeness, and for HIS pleasure–to these same rabble, with the words HE has placed in the mouth of HIS servants. The adversaries should be careful about how they speak of these “John, the Baptists crying in the wilderness” and “Ezekiels placed as watchmen on the wall over the house of God.” The adversary overlooks the fact that these perpetrators (men of god) tear themselves down. ###

Will he appear on the Larry King show and five a better definition of what he implied? Will he allor TD, Creflo, Fred and the other pimps a place on his new platform? I believe I said something to the fact that Steve needs to see true christianity and not those who continues to pimp him for what they can get out of him. I sure hope he does not run into you because I believe you would tell him that all is well with him because God is with him judging by his sucess. You see, William, others probably have told him that and he needs to hear the true gospel and not that of a prosperity gospel. Sorry due, but Jesus said you will know them by their fruit. I really really really hope and pray that some IS witnessing to Steve Harvey because I, Like any other true Christian do not want him to miss out. You on the other hand will probably just pass him by and marvel at his celebrity and tell him he is OK. But then again you may say that is judging you. Over the past few years i have seen a change in Steve Harvey’s behavior. Maybe its not the drastic change you experienced when you became a christian but he has changed progressively. Since all of us are being perfected does that mean that we become perfected at the same pace?

(MN: Do a search on Mr. Harvey on this site and see all that has been said about him. Remember: what you see on this one posting isn’t all that has been said about him. In fact, go here and read. I trust this helps at least a little and keeps you from thinking we are decendents of the Salem Massachusetts Elder board. Believe me, no one would be happier to see Mr. Harvey turn. Then perhaps he would stop making things like the Steve Harvey Show.” You know, the one where he spends all his time trying to get into the principal’s pants. And when he’s not trying to do that, he’s trying to get into the female guest stars’ pants. An excellent example for the youth of America.

But remember, what you see here is not necessarily the first of the last time the issue has been discussed. )

I saw the who show and I think I commented earlier on what I thought. I believe Steve is like many others out there that wants to see true Christianity and not just “church folk” and that is why I believe it is hard to convince him of what it is to be a Christian. You see, people look at him and see the almighty dollar and can’t see him as an individual soul needing salvation. Those that are in position to witness to him will only “pimp” him (ala the Megafest) and not live the life of true christianity in front of him. Oh you can bet he has been in front of a lot of famous christian celebrities and have seen some things.

I witness him being on the defensive all night by telling christians about themselves and basicall putting is all in the same boat. Like I said, he has not seen true christianity in the truest form, only those “church folk”. He spoke about trying to live the christian life in that he can do about 6 of the ten commandments(a works system of trying to live the law) and that bothered me in that, someone should be witnessing to him about salvation(and possibly someone may have been). He talked baout being “AROUND” the church his whole life and that didn’t bother me as much as the former. He also associated salvation with success, not knowing the satan can also give you all the money and fame you want in an effore to keep you away from Jesus. Remember he told Jesus that he would give him all this, if He fell down and worshipped him. So those saints he hangs around will not tell him this, because Steve is a rich celebrity and he doesn’t needs blessing because he already must be in good standings with God. (what does it profit a man to gain the world and lose his soul)I believe Steve wants to know Jesus for himself but no one seems to want to step up to the plate and look past his celebrity and money and point him in the right direction. He may be surrounded by a bunch of “yes men” christians with the wrong motives and could care less about his soul.

I pray that Steve finds that laborer that is willing to do the will of God and plant or water so that God can give the increase. Be Blessed.

ALL THAT STEVE HARVEY has done is what is required of him by the Living Word: CONFESS - Matthew 10:32, Luke 12:8, Romans 10:9, Philippians 2:11, and 1 John 4:15. NOWHERE does the Bible define confession as “accepting the LORD JESUS CHRIST as your personal Savior.” This “acceptance” would have to be predicated on the following quote from W.E. Vine, An Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words.: “In Galatians 2:14, ‘the truth of the gospel’ denotes not the true gospel, but the true teaching of it, in contrast to perversions of it.” (As God is my witness, we all know that the gospel of the 21st Century has largely been perverted by those uncovered by this and other web sites.)

IN OTHER WORDS, the gospel is the full and free deliverance from sin on the basis of simple faith in JESUS CHRIST, The Vicarious Sinbearer. See 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Ephesians 2:8-10, John 3:16, Acts 16:30-31, and Romans 6:2-11. A prime example is recorded of the sole, unique confession of the gospel effected by (brought forth, not influential) the supernatural intervention of God with the heart of the thief on the cross.

CONFESSION, according to Strong, Unger, and Vine:
yadah (Hebrew) - to revere or worship, literally, to extend (raise) the hand is used in the Old Testament in the sense of acknowledging one’s sin.

exomologeo (stronger than homologeo in meaning) - to confess openly a public acknowledgment or confession of one’s sins; to confess by way of celebrating, giving praise.

homologeo - to say the same thing; a profession, implying the yielding or change of one’s conviction.

Baby Brother Steve is bold as a lion and GOD prepared him for this day by trusting him with monetary wealth. GOD prepared Joseph in like manner for the famine in Egypt, to sustain his family and fellow countrymen. Could GOD have trusted you naysayers with such wealth? GOD will indeed complete the work HE alone began in this gutsy man and all we’re commanded to do is to pray for him, that GOD will (1) send laborers across his path to present the true teaching of the Gospel, (2) send another laborer to water the implanted seed so satan cannot steal what has been planted in Steve’s heart, and (3) thank GOD for giving the increase. Agape!

Judas even rejected the 30 pieces of silver after his heart was convicted (though it was too late). I choose to believe that with the Body of Christ being under a better Covenant than was Judas, Steve Harvey has the help of the Holy Spirit, the mind of Christ, and the prayers of the Saints NOT to be swayed by silver and gold in exchange for his eternal salvation. I, for one, am praying for him. Agape!

As I sit up and read your various comments and concerns, I am reminded that we should all read our Bibles (1st & 2nd Timothy to be exact) and we would find (according to scripture) that a lot of these “preachers” are false. As it relates to Mr. Harvey, I’ll say just as I say pertaining to other preachers, look at the fruit to determine the type if tree that it is.

If people are getting saved based on his words then let’s look at that, if not and are being plunged further into materialism, then look at that…Make The Bible the FINAL judge and not man or our emotions!!!

My job is covering the news (yes, I’m paid to watch news…) and several months ago, Harvey was interviewed and stated he was cleaning his act up to respect his late mother (or similar wording) and thus eliminating profanity and such.

I’d personally give him a lot of slack and prayer.
He’s lay, not a pastor and is trying to do the right thing while in a difficult situation.
I’m sure being surounded by the same people he’s always had around him, having various contracts to honor and falling in with predatory WofFers won’t make it easy on him. Changes in his life could take a long time to come to pass and he could easily become jaded in a post-WofFer environment once he realizes how empty and materialistic their schpiel is.

So, yes, he is to be looked at but, IIRC, his ‘change’ started before the pimps came into his life. Most likely, he sought them out as they are the most visable.
As such, a double helping of prayer for him may be in order.

The third eye vision is the third eye of perception. witcthes back in salem use to pray spells or an incantation over a persons body that was lying on the floor. The witches would then would be able to see through the body into or inside the person that was called the third eye of perception. Steve Harvey was mentioning that while saying when Jesus was about to return and how he would introduce him. That is straight up demonic how can you talk about seeing Jesus coming through your third eye which is WITCHCRAFT STRAT UP BLASPHEME!!!!!! It doesn’t make sense!!! Steve Harvey isn’t saved for nothing and it is a sham that T.D Jakes would call on him to speak at mega Flesh and get him conditioned to believe that he saved since he is doing a so called christian event like this. He did mention the “third eye” two or three times. It definitely caught my attention. And, it does raise concern. Where did he get that from? Isn’t TD taking advantage of having this person in his presence by ministering to him? I am going to research this “third eye” thing. Steve just needs to be set straight, just as Apollos was by Aquilla and Priscilla. I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt, share the truth with them, then see what they do. Let’s get off of our high horses and start praying for each other instead of putting each other down. Let’s use this site as a teaching tool where we can each express what we have learned regarding a particular topic. For example, we’re all questioning this third eye thing. Let’s help each other grow and mature in the Lord.

(MN: Well, Let me try again. The site is not here specifically to teach things like the third eye or why Mr. Harvey is wrong to refer to that. The site is here to warn you about the pimps and their heresies.

I don’t believe Mr. Harvey was seriously suggesting he had a third eye. Rahter, he seemed to be making a generic reference to seeing beyond what is right in front of you. Poor choice of concepts, but I’m not sure he’s bound up in New Age practices or teaching thm as Christian. In fact, given the words that come out of the pimps’ mouths [using points of contact and other trash] I suspect he might be a little ahead of the pimps in terms of getting it right. I am giving him the same lattitude as I would expect when I speak of taking bets on when John Jenkins’ wife is going to become the co-pastor.

By the way, I don’t believe the clip was from MegaMess 2006. It’s from a movie he recently made. I think it called “Don’t Trip…He Ain’t Through With Me Yet.”

Believe me, I am more than willing to give Mr. Harvey much more lattitude than I would the pimps. Harvey at least offers entertainment. The pimps and pimpettes just take your money and make you feel guilty when you don’t give it to them. )

I agree with Melvin and the others who have said, “Let’s wait and see if he means it”. I appreciate when anyone gets up and makes a profession of faith in Christ, but at the same time I try to be discerning because words can be just words. What will get me to fully believe that Steve Harvey is truly a regenrate believer in Christ is when I see some fruit. Nevertheless all we can do is pray for the man, and also pray for the prosperity preachers (whom I believe are not preachers of God’s will but their own will) that surround him. If Steve Harvey is truly saved then God will lead Him to the truth, and when he sees it he will chase after no matter what position it puts him in.

Someone pointed out earlier that they would love to see Steve say these things without all that he has, and to them I say that is good discerment. Coming out of the WOF movement into the Reformed tradition several years ago, I saw that when the money stopped many folks in the WOF churches would stop praising Jesus. I pray that Steve’s relationship will God will be on basis where success and money are not the sign of a right standing with God. I pray that the basis of His relationship will be on nothing less than Christ blood and righteouness, and His accomplished redemption. And I also pray that Steve Harvey will not think that because he is clothed in a fine suit that he has the robes a righteousness. I pray that like the Hymn by Zinzendorf that Jesus blood and righteouness will be his only glorious dress.

After watching the video clip from Mega Fest and hearing Steve Harvey talk about his so called faith in God that doesn’t send him to a local church as he hosted the Stellar Awards, the jury is still out. From what he stated on the video clip, his testimony is lacking. I spoke of God’s goodness to him, but he never spoke about a time in his life when he repented of his sins. Paul clearly states in Romans 2 that the goodness of God leads to repentance. Someone has saving faith knows about repentance. There is no saving grace in the fact that while Harvey was sinning he still believed what his mother taught him about Christ’s second coming. What about repentance and faith toward Christ? That’s missing in Steve Harvey’s testimony thus far.

John 21:20-22
[20] Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee? [21] Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do? [22] Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.

(MN: A couple of people have said a couple of negative things. But I think, for the most part, the apporach seems to be “Let’s wait and see.” After all, Judas changed, sort of, but never really got it right. We even have a current example with us. Mase? Not only did he start shilling for Creflo, he went back to the darkside of Hip Hop. I think waiting to see his fruits is a valid approach. hip is a culture, a way of doing things, meaning we don what we want!. hip hop means booty shaker. so now we have holy booty shakers.

(MN: All you did was repeat yourself. Where does it say that “hip hop” means “booty shaker”? )

Maybe Steve Harvey is trying to clean-up his life. But I agree with some of the other posters, I would want to know that he is a believer. That he is a born-again Christian. And I just pray he gets away from the health and wealth preaching by Jakes and others. This teaching is very unbiblical. If their teaching is true, than every person that died for their faith in Christ is doing it in vain. How would you preach prosperity in China, India, or Indonesia. They would just ignore any such preaching because the faithful followers aren’t getting stuff (worldly things), just persecution. I will pray that he comes to saving faith in Christ (all that matters in this short life) and will be saved from the lake of burning fire, eternal gnashing of teeth, and eternal darkness. He could be there already, only the Lord knows, but we will know the believers by their fruit.

Dave in Milwaukee:

Good point. I actually had this book concerning Cults and False doctrines in 2005. The book was pretty good, and gave great summations about 10-12 false doctrines (one was the prosperity gospel).

One glimpse of the book that I will remember is that the author clearly stated the easiest way to measure a message…..is if you can’t preach that Gospel in the way it was presented to you to a third world country……that is an easy way to identify it as false.

The messgae of God doesn’t change. Makes me think of Rod Parsley…..on TV talking “Breakthrough”, but then he is on TV in Africa with needy children pleading for money to help them.

That is evident that he is not preaching the same message to them. makes us look foolish for tolerating it.

This double standard is evident and should not be tolerated.

Grid et. al: Parsley isn’t the only thief “preaching” in Africa—his predecessor, believe it or not, is Pat Robertson of the 700 Club. I read on another site an expose by his former pilot (of his private plane) saying Pat uses the plane approx 10% of the time to transport foodstuffs, clothing, and household goods to “people in need in Africa IF there’s space in the cargo area.” The ex-pilot went on to say that 90% of the time his plane is used to fly Pat back and forth to Africa to “check on his gold-mine operations and interests”; he supposedly owns a substantial number of actual gold-producing mines. Native Africans supply the cheap labor for this Mand of Gawd. Africa seems to be easy pickings for wolves from ALL races, including the Black race. Ashimolowo (?) and Benson Idahosa (a forerunner) are prime examples. Believe it or not, the ceo of club newbirth frequently throws in his hap’ney when he and his “elder” spouse “minister.” Ain’t nothing new under the sun nor under the Son!
