Given that I don’t have to look real hard for stuff about the pimps, and the things they say, I also want to make sure I note when things change.
Case in point: Steve Harvey.
Last year, Mr. Harvey maintained a site that presented his routines. They had language that would have made a sailor blush. I complained about this when talking about the fact that he was to be a “guest” at the ‘Mess 2005. I even presented expurgated clips from his site.
Things changed. I went back out to his site this evening to make sure the things I said were still true. I was very pleasantly surprised to see that the site had completely different content. The outrageously vulgar humor is gone. Most of the clips are from his radio show broadcast in Los Angeles. And while he is still crude (one of the clips was “Ten Ways to Tell That Your Wife Hasn’t Gotten Over Her Ex-Husband.”) there were no expletives.
While I still question the rationale for having Harvey host a segment of the ‘Mess, I will readily state that he has cleaned up his web site tremendously.
He’s definitely what you would expect a host of mega mess to be, he appeals to the type of people that attend these things: carnal, pseudo christians.
Cleaned it up just in time for ‘Mess attenders to justify their participation by conveniently pointing out that his site is ‘okay’.
Tsk, tsk, tsk. Czarina, you are so cynical! Or are you just realistic and beginning to understand how these men and women of gold work?
I agree. A minor victory in my book, especially in light of the man who is indoctrinating him (T. Dexter). Just wait until Harvey’s big-screen/small-screen career levels off and he starts hitting the TBN circuit for exposure. All of that modalist, Sabellian, God “manifests” himself junk will rear its ugly head, and this “accomplishment” with his website will be but a faint memory.
I watched the Steve Harvey concert on BET recently and I must say this. I thought the whole hour he was on stage he was very defensive. I find the very thing he was saying Christians do, HE WAS DOING, and that is judging. How can he put ALL christians in the same boat in saying things like “Don’t act like you don’t do this or do that” etc. He constantly made references that he has been “around” church all his life and that his mother was an evangelist etc. I feel that if he had “been around church” all his life he would know that it is not about trying to live the 10 commandments etc.
While I will not get into criticizing Mr Harvey as I believe he was sincere in everything he said and I applaud him for his honesty, I believe that if he was around christians that was serious about their God ordain ministry instead of what he can give to their ministry,
