One of the things that makes my job really easy is the fact that the pimps think you are so incredibly stupid. They don’t even bother to hide their disobedience to Scripture. Instead, they do things practically out in the open, as though daring any of you unanointed schleps to say anything.
John Jenkins has openly pledged fealty to T. Dexter Jakes. Jakes appears with Noel Jones and the Crouches. Jamal-Harrison Bryant, Boy Model, appears with Jones, Jenkins, Dollar and anyone else who can raise a crowd of more than two.
They say anything you want to hear, as long as you come back and give them money.
One fellow (Dr. Hilliard - not I. V. Hilliard) has even established an organization whose purpose is to establish ecumenical ties between the various denominations and sects (Oneness, Baptist, AME, etc). Here’s an e-poster.
I was in the Air Force for twelve years. During that time, I grew very accustomed to the idea of a chain of command. You know - this person works for that one, that one is my boss, and these people work for me. As I looked at this e-poster I couldn’t quite figure out what the chain of command, or the hierarchy, is within the group.
But then I got to thinking and I realized that none of them works for the other. None of them are truly accountable to the others. Think about it. John is the pastor of a church consisting of 5000+ timid sheep eager to be devoured. The same, applying different numbers can be said of each of the men and women in the picture. None of them works for the other. And none of them work for Dr. Hilliard. So who do they work for?
Well, if I understand the pimp mentality that possesses these people, I suspect the organizational chart looks something like this.
Unfortunately, I suspect the controlling force is not Almighty God, but the Almighty Dollar.
I know none of these men and women are stupid. And I am confident that both the Oneness people (the Dukes, the Weeks) and the TINOs (Trinitarians In Name Only) understand that the two doctrines are not at all compatible. Neither group views the other’s doctrine as Biblical. Yet they are all willing to work together under a supposed banner of Ecumenicalism. Why? Certainly not to pursue the truth. If that were the case, each group would be insisting the other change its doctrine. Instead, each has compromised what they say is the truth.
If it weren’t for the opportunity to prosper at the expense of the sheep, the two groups would be all over each other.
My conclusion? They just want to make sure you will listen to anything, believe anything and (most importantly of all) give them money when they prance around on stage. They are not in the game for the truth. That only leaves power and money.
Servants of God? Maybe. I just wonder which god.

I see I see your position (I can relate to you)… However, let’s take another point of view — a view that these ministers and preachers have decided to put their religious egos aside to minister to the needs of the people. After all, religion is a vehicle that takes and navigates you to your spirituality. What I question is the doctrine that is being preached all over the wolrd. You have churches everywhere, even the so-called MEGA churches, but yet people have no POWER. How much wealth and prosperity can you preach? Sure it’s good to preach and teach about putting yourself in your rightful place of wealth and prosperity; but we need preachers to preach words of power. These people need to be liberated and empowered to be the true warrior like Jesus is and was. People come to church on regular basis and leave feeling empty because what was given has no substance or power. We need a word that you can pull out of our memory files and reference when you are going through the storm. Teach me through the teaching of Jesus that there’s power in my ability to control my own destiny — and if you do that, then you can have all the wealth and prosperity in the world. Tell me and show me how to become wealthy and live in prosperity… that’s power..

Beware of ministers who give themselves titles. Some pastors, such as Jakes and Jenkins, are “calling themselves” prophets. GOD has not appointed them as a “prophet”. I’m here to serve you notice:

Let’s start with the last part first.
When I pledged A PHI A, I had to memorize a poem that ended with “I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul.” I forget the name of th poem, but after becoming a Christian, I have come to realize that nothing could be more antithetical to the Christian. I am not the master of my fate. God is. I can plan, I can prepare, I can do all I need to do to accomplish my goals. But unless God allows, unless God wills, it won’t happen. It is His hand that directs my life and not my own.
The power we have access to is the power to live life that is holy and acceptable to God. It is not the power to gain riches. The pulpit pimps preach exaclty what you are talking about to ensnare the foolish who would think that Christianity is somehow a way to gain riches.
We don’t have a “rightful place in wealth and riches.” We only have the place God has given to us with Christ in the heavenlies.
Religion does not navigate you to your spirituality. No, let me correct that. Religion helps me to feel righteous in my own works. On the other hand, Christianity makes it clear to me that there is nothing I can, on my own, do to earn God’s acceptance and that it is only through the work done by Jesus Christ that I find acceptance with Him. But I also came to realize that as a saved person, there is still nothing I can do to earn God’s favor. My spirituality is through faith, not works. My life in Christ is through grace, not works.
I’m afraid you sound very much like the Wod of Faith people I seek to warn the believers against.

It has TD Jakes, Eddie Long and Kirbyjon Caldwell on the cover and the title is “The Business of Faith.” The article gives you a brief look into the business aspects of their churches. It is pretty interesting to read and very little, if any of the article makes reference to Jesus. What is your take on this article, if you have read it?
I saw the Article also. Very detailed indeed. I would agree with you that Jesus is not mentioned. I had to carefully analyze (discern) the intent of the ariticle. It reminded me all over again of the fact that I work in Corporate Snakes (oops) I mean Corporate America and the way the mission of the company is accomplished. They try to affirm and validate there many good works all in the name of Jesus, but what is really the true intent?

Ecumenicalism I don’t think is the issue IF the churches/ministries are of like mind. I can see a Baptist church fellowshiping with say a COGIC church. It happens on a local levels all the time, not just with these mega-ministries. We all have differences, a lot of them are secondary issues. Where there might be a problem is in the oneness camp. I have friends on both sides of the issue, and frankly they don’t consider it an issue.
I think it’s because a lot of people don’t understand the two doctrinal positions. Some people who are not apologist think it is a secondary issue and they think we’re all saying the same thing. As long as they know Jesus. An apologist would say are you sure it’s the Jesus of the Bible. That statement comes from both sides. If there’re going to be so called Ecumenical conferences then these preachers need to address there differences and let the scriptures talk.
I think web sites like this should try to get these people together and talk about their doctrinal positions and let’s see what the bible has to say about them. If these preachers are pimping, let God deal with them. They will soon fall on their face.
The scriptures don’t say ‘let God deal with them’. The scriptures say WE deal with them. The word teaches that we (the saints) are to call folk to the carpet and constantly sound the alarm as well as know our Bibles well enough to ‘earnestly contend’ for the faith (Jude 3-4).
And the bulk of these motivational speakers have been called to the carpet before. THEY DON”T CARE. Their concern is the money and their following.
True. As long as they have a clump of willing sheep, they have no reason to care. My purpose is to warn those who will listen, inside and outside their “ministries,” to help the one inside get out, and keep the ones outside from getting sucked in. The ones who are there, have the word, and turn from the truth are getting exactly what they deserve. I feel some sorrow for them, but they apparently love a lie more than the truth.

You can pray all you want until your face turn blue — if you don’t exercise any faith then your pray “powerless”. God is no cosmic genie. We have the power to change any and every circumstance in our lives — that’s the power that’s available to all God’s children. Power is an extension of faith, power is tapping into your higher self (your God-given ability) - that’s the power I’m talking about. I’m not saying prayer is not essential, I’m just saying that once pray, you got to get off your knees and your ************* ANATOMY and do something and expect that it’s already done.

All I’m saying is that as a result of the awakening and the realization of spiritual power (tapping into your God-given ability) you have the ability to accomplish and acheive anything. And if becoming wealthy is important, then so shall it be if that’s what you want to accomplish. And NO, I’m not in the WORD OF FAITH GANG.

Now I ask that you bear with me concerning what I’m about to share according to what I perceive you and your Pastor may be saying. For I believe that I was taught the exact same thing at my old church I used to attend concerning being joint-heirs with Christ and our inheritance therein, asking for anything (that’s normally “good” in our own eyes), etc…..
First thing’s first– 1 John 2:6~ He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.
Now, that verse within it’s context of scripture is surrounded by John reminding us to keep His commandments and to love one another etc. for this is what Jesus did do. Yet, if we even broaden the horizon (not to take the scripture out of context) just to look at the life of Christ as an example that we are to follow, we do not observe Him (claiming) or even recognizing what He knows He had in heaven to be something to have here on earth. Rather Jesus did explain many times that there was a cost for being His disciple (Luke 9:57-62) and He Himself did not even claim or pray for the promises/blessings that were promised to Abraham and his seed (Galatians 3:15-18, 26-29).
While here on earth, Christ (The Son of God) lived a humble and lowly life leaving us an example to follow and so did the Apostles and New Testament Church (Acts 4:32-37). Christians tend to forget that Godliness is not a means of gain but that we are to be content with food and clothing— not housing and transportation or “costly clothing” and the many luxuries that this world has to offer/ We did not see the disciples asking for a new camel or horse or donkey or home, etc.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not God, so I don’t know His will for you or anyone else and I’m not saying that He won’t bless His children with these things if we ask for them or not–What I am saying is that Christ did not die for us to live in luxury or “wealth”. Not saying there aren’t or wouldn’t be rich or wealthy Christians, but this is just simply something we are not to go about seeking - this was not a promise or command of the Lord’s before he ascended.
But we are to be thankful and content with what we have and we know that we will have what we ask for (believing), as long as it is in line with His will (1 Timothy 2: 8-10, 1Timothy 6:3-12 + Matthew 6:25-34, John 15:7-8, 1John 5:14-15 and James 4:3).
We are exhorted many times to seek that which is eternal and to lay up treasures for ourselves in heaven. We are not, however, exhorted to try and have a little heaven down here on earth (that would be a contradiction of scripture. (See Matthew 6:19-21 and 19:20-21, 1Timothy6:17-19, COLOSSIANS 3:1-4, James 4:13-17+5:1-11, 2Peter 3:10-18.
The Church (esp. in our country the U.S.) get’s so caught up on prosperity, “good success”, and being comfortable that we forget the sole purpose of the Church and the Great Commission Christ called us to fulfill! Many of us have forgotten that this earth is not our home and that we are but ambassadors, pilgrims and sojourners…..
Never the less, I hope this be understood.

A: Contrary to what people think, going to hell is not really determined solely by lifestyle. Going to hell is determined by a person’s refusal to make Jesus Christ their personal Lord and Savior according to Romans 10:9-10. Although your choice to be a lesbian will not send you to hell, it will cause you to be outside of God’s perfect will for your life, and the abundant life that Jesus has promised and died and rose again for us to enjoy is what you will miss out on. Think about it like this: If someone gave you a gift for you to enjoy and you threw that gift in the closet and treated it any kind of way you never get the benefit of all the gift has to offer. So it is with Christ. Going to church and accepting Jesus as Lord but continuing to live your life anyway you want does not allow you to enjoy all the wonderful benefits of being a child of God. Although you may enjoy sin, you are forfeiting the true happiness and joy that is only available by living a life pleasing God.
