I have decided to no longer comment on your site! You are trying to make a complete fool out of my opinion. I thought this site was about being able to express your opinions on any particular subject. I have more respect for myself than to allow a person of your character and moral to degrade me about my opinions and my feelings. God calls me to forgive, so I forgive you and hope that God forgives you too. God Bless!
Oh, by the way, I have been a member of FBCG for 2 yrs not 15. I have been saved for 15 years!
You are certainly able to express your opinion on this site. But none of us are obliged to sit back and say noting if we think you are wrong or over the top. You seem to confuse the freedom to express your opinion with a requirement to have it accepted without question. Sorry. This isn’t FBCG. I don’t recognize being God’s Mouthpiece as a part of some six-fold mininstry.
And I didn’t say you were a member for 15 years. I said you have been a Chirstian for fifteen years. But that error is consistent with the distortions you engaged in during your first set of comments.
I would ask again, what have you been doing for the past fifeteen years? I wasted the first six and strive to make sure I don’t waste any more. Your comments would seem to indicate that you have not grown past salvation and the elementary things of the Gospel.
By the way, I’ve done nothing to require forgiving. You on the other hand have made several accusations, quiestioned my integrity, and called me a liar. But, I forgive you.
WOW, Melvin? Nothing to require forgiving? Let’s just hope you are talking only in the capacity of this conversation? My BIBLE tells me in Romans 3:23 that “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” 1 John 1:8 tells me that “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. ” and continuing with the book of 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” I wish that we as professed Believers would just stop and reflect sometimes with the very essence of the life Christ has given us, His mercy and grace. Let’s not be guilty of calling God a liar. 1 John 1:10 “If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and his word is not in us. I love the Lord and it saddens me to see the division between the children of GOD. I agree with informing the children of God of false teaching/doctrine, anything contrary to what the bible teaches. I know there has to be another way. I pray that we all as believers can first be delievered from our shortcomings before trying to correct the shortcomings of others. The book of Mathew tells us to “Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? ”
I don’t have the wisdom of some of you who grace this site with your presence but as a young Christian, I do hope one day to gain more wisdom and understanding of the scripture. I am open and all I desire is for GOD to teach me His ways. I am, as are many other young people, looking for direction to leading a Godly lifestyle with hopes of one day being called to live with my Heavenly Father. I know that the Bible is there to direct me but for true understanding I desire descernment and wisdom from GOD (which is more than enough) AND help and encouragement from those of you planted soundly in the WORD. Can we as followers agree to teach and nurture more and argue less? GOD will deal with EVERYONE in due time. I am a FBCG member. DAW
Yes, the statement was made in the context of this discussion. In terms of what I have said on this site about the subjects of this site, I have nothing to be forgiven for because I have said nothing untrue nor revealed any secrets they would not want revealed. I will stand with that. Have I sinned before God? Certainly. Who in their right mind would say they have not?
By the way, you did a nice job of laying out support for the idea that all have sinned. You are to be commended. But don’t confuse diagreement over very significant doctrinal issues [Jesus suffered in hell vs His death on the cross was sufficient] to be a case of trivial argument. Afterall, what is the point of teaching if the result is greater error?
If you really want to begin growing, study on your own and start with the books I recommend earlier in the life of this blog (Try here) and find a conservative, expositional church. I just listened to one of John’s sermons on the web. The one titled “A Tale of Two Men.” There was a lot of reading into the story of Lazarus and the Rich Man. He did a lousy job of letting the Bible speak for itself. What he did was bad training for the saints. And it makes it difficult for you to even SEE the need to have a disciplined and prayerful approach to the Bible. But don’t take my word for it. Go back and listen to the sermon again. And as an exercise, note all the places where he inserts something that is not clearly there. You will be impressed at the amount of information he is willing to stuff into the text, whether it was there or not. Click here and select the sermon entitled “A Tale of Two Men.” Get ready, get ready, get ready!)
Mel did nothing to make you look like a fool. You did. This Board is not about mere opinion, but God’s Truth and Perspectives. Your pastor does not preach God Truth or Perspectives, therefore must be exposed for who he really is; a Worshipper of self and probably satan. To have any affiliation with Copeland leads me to believe that Satan worshipping may be on their agenda list…
Seal, what church do you attend? I would love to visit since my church worships satan, maybe I need to find a new church! I’ll start with visiting yours, and please don’t give me the story about not wanting people to know where your worship, it’s starting to get redundant. Thanks, and hopefully I can attend this Sunday!
Sorry Mel, but after reading quotes from ‘Charismatic Chaos’ by MacArthur, Copeland is on really bad terms with me…Sorry if I went a little too agressive, but my Conscience is clear on Copeland Affiliations…
Anyhow, I attend Cornerstone Presbyterian down in FL for whom it may concern…
Also Mel here’s a link for you to see Our Wedding Pictures.
No problem. I read MacArthur’s book a while back. I can certainly agree with the feelings.
If it’s any comfort, I’m having a hard time seeing most of these guys and gals (all of them, if I am to be consistent) as being saved. How could someone who possesses the Holy Spirit be so badly decieved about Jesus Christ and the means of salvation? It doesn’t get much more basic than that.
Pretty wife. I guess need to know is going to need to purchase a plane ticket. could be expensive, its in that 30 day window, might cut into that tithe money.
Yeah I’m into Christ Centered Holy Hip Hop…Infact, God used the witnessing tool of Rap to get me out of the Word of Faith Movement by a two Particular Christians MC’s named timothy brindle and shai linne… You can visit their site at http://www.lampmode.com
Through these guys obediance despite severe objection they put out contraversial songs against the Word of Faith Movement that made me re-analyze my alligiance to either God or Man. Glory be to Yahweh that God’s Grace empowered me to choose Christ…
I was shocked when I entered this web site. I was looking for my church and this is what I stumbled upon. I wonder if my pastor knows this site is here? Well, for those who do not believe, we who do believe will pray for you. Although I am sure you do not want our prayers, sometimes we do not want what is good for us. God loves you. He has blessed you with an opinion. Although i may not agree with it, it is your opinion. If you get to know Pastor Jenkins and listen to more than one sermon, and more than a few words form your one sermon, you would have a totally different idea of the message God has given him to give to us. Pastor Jenkins is truly a man of God, and he has lead us (the church members) to a new place. We all have been blessed under him. Blessed in many ways. So until you are apart of this experience, you will never understand. I can not take time to try to make you understand. Because until you are seeking improvement in your life, and you begin to see what you are and have is truly not fulfilling, you will never understand God nor Pastor Jenkins.
While I appreciate your willingness to pray for me (I can always use prayer, even from those who don’t know any better), I should tell you I attended, and was very active at, FBCG for the better part of seven years. My posts are not a result of hearing a single sermon. Neither are they a result of me not knowing the man. He and I have had meny converstations on a host of topics. He often demonstrated himself as unwilling to allow his positions to be questioned. His defense generally ended with “We just interpret it differently. But I have been ministering for 25 years.” In my opinion that is the epitome of arrogance.
Just out of curiousity, why would it matter if John knew the site is here or not. He does, by the way, but so what?
As I have said on many occasions, the stuff I put here is not opinion. I state facts. It is not my opinion that he has invited men who deny the basics of the faith to speak to you. It is fact. It is not my opinion that he ordains women as pastors. This is a fact. It is not my opinion that he invites Word of Faith people to speak to the congregation. It is a fact.
It is not my opinion that the Bibles says we are to have nothing to do with these men and women. It is a fact.
Your pastor is indeed taking you to a new level. But it is a step lower, not a step higher. Your last comments seems to indicate you have a really high view of your pastor, right up there with God. I really don’t think he (John) is doing you any good.
Remember, it’s not about the experience, it’s about the Bible. Did God really give him the message that Jesus suffered in hell for our sins? I sincerely doubt it. Did God really give him the message that if you tithe then God will give you the thing you want most? I can’t quite see that either.
Thanks for your concern, but spending an hour and a half to listen to John butcher the word for twenty minutes is not my idea of a good way to spend my Sunday. I would rather watch the Redskins lose again.
I doubt I will be there. I may send a bunch of my impish minions - well-trained Melvinites - to take some pictures and do some interviews. I just bought a bunch of digital voice recorders and and a couple of really expensive digital handheld video cameras. I’ve spent over three hundred thousand dollars for the equipment. I hope to get a bunch of interveiws so we can replay them on the web.
Now, if you want to be blessed, you need to send me some money so I can pay for the equipment. Send your money to:

I visited the construction site a couple of weeks ago and took some pictures. It’s a nice looking building. It seems, and this is just my opinion, a little excessive. I’ll post some of the pictures in a couple of days.
But once the contruction is done, it should be a beautiful building. Unfortunately, I suspect the building will be filled with empty preaching and even emptier people.
Okay ya’ll….let’s not pass judgement until you’re certain about this. We don’t know what direction JKJ will lead his congregation toward. We’ll just have to wait and see. I pray that he chose the path of righteous, sound, biblical doctrine and not that heresy mess he has associated himself with.
Oh boy….It’s 9:53 pm and I currently have TBN on and this guy (who would go nameless….okay I can’t help myself his initials are J.D.) who’s on now is preaching a sermon titled “Freeing Your Mind Up From Can’t”. You know….one of those “speak it into existence” sermons about claiming it and you will have it. This kind of teaching just breaks my heart. Of course his broadcast ended with a partnership request….they’re looking to get one million partners to reach one billion people. Please pray for these preachers and pray for this nation.
10,000…you are really hung up on numbers. what is up with that? do you think the number of people legitimize things? you sound ridiculous. What difference does it make how many people attend and why does that make any of us envious? I mean, what did you do that was so special to be apart of that number? if anyone here was envious of the numbers we could easliy go join one of these other snares that have 30,000 member, as a matter of fact we could easliy come to your church and make it 10,001. Has it dawned on you that people have made a concious decision not to affiliate themselves with FBCG?
Honestly, you are a sad, but accurate representative of FBCG.
And once a person clears themselves of the fault, do they let you continue in that same error without trying to help you out of it?
Matthew 7:1-6, Does a saint clear the log from their own eye and then forsake the part about “then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye”?
Proverbs 27:17, I don’t think Melvin addressed you in a loud voice or anger with this post. But scripture instructs us to help (sharpen) each other, not sit around looking at cups.
Jan, your statement of:
Happy is the person who finds fault with himself instead of finding fault with others.
Is not of the scriptures, but of the sayings of the anti-Christ cult founder Muhammad. You need Jesus and need to turn from the words of the false prophet Muhammad. Christ NEVER said Muhammad would come and Muhammad bore false witness on the words of Christ and His Father. Jesus is not merely the “son of Mary” as Muhammad would say, but the SON OF GOD.
Melvin, I must say that I was happy to find your website in that I found christians that agree with what I agree with doctrinally (?), but the name calling and insults is a little disappointing to me. Can’t we blog based on reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness without being so personally insulting. Matthew 5:39 says: but I say unto you, That ye resist not evil (resist meaning stand up to): but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
(MN: I understand your discomfort. But I will maintain that the character of this site is consistent with the actions of Jesus, Paul, Peter, and others. I call these wolves Pimps. The Bible calls them many more and worse names. It’s not about turning my cheek. No one has offended me, any more than the child molester on trial offended me. I don’t know most of these people, and probably would recognize them if they stood in front of me. But I do recognize heresy when I see it and I will use all methods available to me to publicize and call attention (Rom 16:17) to the purveyors of such poppycock.)
Maybe we should call them animals and creatures of instinct as is noted in 2 Peter 2. Some translations call them “brute beasts”. Let’s call them that!
Was there any worse term than when John the Baptist and Jesus Christ called them “vipers”? Given everyone knew the role of the snake and calling the respected “religious leaders” vipers was about as big a verbal slap as one could imagine.
Considering scripture, maybe we’re being too nice.
You can’t pull Matthew 5:39 regarding warnings about false teachers. You are missing scripture like 1 Corinthians 5:9-13(note the mention of greed and swindlers), 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 and 1 Timothy 1 where Paul names false teachers by name and even says he’s turned them over to Satan.
Also, you might want to look of the definition of the term reproof. When it needs to be done it is not a thing of comfort.
Some folks just don’t understand, a false teacher is NOT your brother or sister in Christ. So scripture regarding false teachers applies.
I can understand calling the individuals in the pulpit wolves, pimps, etc. if the name applies. But what I took away from brooksdx’s statement is that sometimes these insults are directed toward commentors on this site who may not have the same level of understanding as someone else. There have been some odd-balls who have visited the site talking around in circles, and it is cool if people want to point out their error. But there is a way to go about it…plain and simple. If the oddball choices not to listen, your point has been made…move on to others who visit the site and are seeking what is right. No point in a tit-for-tat with those who think you are wrong because until they think differently the conversation will more than likely go no where (a la Stephen Smith). Truth be told, some of this back and forth stuff is very distracting for some who are trying to read through the comments for Scriptural truths.
People who comment like to use sarcasm (as best it can be displayed in cyber world). But what some people forget is that their so-called sarcasm can often miss its target and come across as very offensive. And what good does that do for the dialogue — nothing. The subject matter is one that many people are passionate about, but let’s remember there are people behind that words that are typed. I have had to learn to just ignore some people who allude to me being a pimp defender. I trust that Melvin would not allow any major insult to be posted, but there is at times a strong personal undertone to comments people direct towards others.
Though it’s been made certain how to deal with false teachers, I too have often wrestled with the treatment of many of the commentors……4 not everyone falls in the same category/level of deception, but it often seems like many are treated with the “ONE SIZE FITS ALL” approach & treated roughly instead of going by a case-by-case basis.
21Keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.
22Be merciful to those who doubt; 23snatch others from the fire and save them; to others show mercy, mixed with fear–hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.
That’s not to say it’s NEVER happened on the site, for anyone honestly searching will see it has many times…..but its nonetheless something needing work.
Even among Brethren, some of the sarcasm/jokes have often come off needlessly offensive (with much justifying of them in the name of “be tough”, “I’m only joking”, ect, )…..when half the time one could’ve made their points just as powerfully through graciousness/patience:

(MN: And I suspect your mind is half empty as well. )
Is not of the scriptures, but of the sayings of the anti-Christ cult founder Muhammad. You need Jesus and need to turn from the words of the false prophet Muhammad. Christ NEVER said Muhammad would come and Muhammad bore false witness on the words of Christ and His Father. Jesus is not merely the “son of Mary” as Muhammad would say, but the SON OF GOD.
(MN: And I suspect your mind is half empty as well. )
LOL! oh wow….
But I do recognize heresy when I see it and I will use all methods available to me to publicize and call attention (Rom 16:17) to the purveyors of such poppycock. )
You are missing scripture like 1 Corinthians 5:9-13 (note the mention of greed and swindlers), 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 and 1 Timothy 1 where Paul names false teachers by name and even says he’s turned them over to Satan.
Just my opinion….
Ditto on the thoughts, Tweet
Though it’s been made certain how to deal with false teachers, I too have often wrestled with the treatment of many of the commentors……4 not everyone falls in the same category/level of deception, but it often seems like many are treated with the “ONE SIZE FITS ALL” approach & treated roughly instead of going by a case-by-case basis.
Jude 1:22-23
Proverbs 25:15
Through patience a ruler can be persuaded, and a gentle tongue can break a bone.
Tweet, I won’t argue with that
.
Kudos, Tweet!!!
