I was intrigued by Neeci’s mention of A. E. Abedoye so I did a quick Google. One of the first sites I visited demonstrated that the African continent is rich soil for pimps, and masterful pimps at that.
Here is a list of “prophecies” the good bishop came up with for 2004.
2004 Prophesies by Pastor E. A. Adeboye

4. THERE WILL BE MANY MARRIAGES.
5. THERE WILL BE A FLOOD OF MANY BABIES.
6. THERE WILL BE MULTIPLES OF SPECIAL MIRACLES, THERE WILL BE DRAMATIC HEALINGS.
7. REGARDLESS OF THE SITUATION OF THE COUNTRY, THIS YEAR WILL BE A YEAR OF LAUGHTER FOR SOME
FOR NIGERIA
1. A YEAR OF SURPRISES, SURPRISES, SURPRISES
2. GOD WILL BEGIN TO LAY THE FOUNDATION OF A NEW NIGERIA
3. THE DAYS OF THE FALSE PROPHESIES IN NIGERIA SHALL END.

MOST OF THE HAPPENINGS ON THE INTERNATIONAL SCENE WILL HAVE ONLY MINUTE EFFECT ON CHRISTIANS IN THE COUNTRY, EXCEPT FOR THE NEED TO PRAY FOR OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN THOSE COUNTRIES
PROPHETIC PROCLAMATIONS FOR 2004 BY PASTOR E. A ADEBOYE
In the New Year, in the name of Jesus you will miss death.
You will receive the strength to do everything good in the year 2004
You will escape bareness.
Everything that the devil has stolen from you, in the year 2004 you will recover all.
For the Redeemed Church of God we will take over the whole world for God.
Wealth is going to change hands.
Every Pharaoh in your life shall drown in 2004
Your blessings will overflow in 2004.
You will lend to many nations in Jesus name.
Your future will be in your hands beginning from 2004.
You will become free to worship God the way you wanted, everything that is making you not to worship God as you want will be destroyed.
It will be a year of favor galore.
You will sing a new song.
I’m a Nigerian over in London. I’ve been keeping up with your site for a while now. Do not be fooled. Your pimps are nothing compared to ours. The saddest thing is not only do they exploit peoples economic lack, they play heavily on people’s fear of witchcraft and such.
They use words like ‘covenant blessing’ and ‘kingdom prosperity’ to make you feel like it’s your right to demand things from God. Those prophecies you put up are the same type of things they come up with year after year.
This year its all about ‘my year of laughter.’ Dont ask me what we’re suppose to be laughing at, when the country is going to pot. You would never know though with some of the extravagent buildings some of these churches own.
The amount of churches in Nigeria is a complete joke, the title of pastor has been turned into an empty word. What’s even more scary is the infection of the rest of the Africian continent and to Europe.
I know this site uses humor to deal with things but its hard for me to really laugh at this, when there is little or no alternative if I want to go somewhere to Worship.
Please pray for us, this way of thinking is the Norm in Nigerian, whether your Baptist, Anglican, Pentecoatal, Methodist or non denomenational.
Tiannah, nice to meet you! I am a first-generation African-American; both of my parents are Nigerian. My dad is unsaved, and wouldn’t feel like doing so because he believes the pastors are just a big joke. My mom goes to RCCG (Adeboye’s church, which I left last year) and she’s going to conferences and what-not to receive her blessings.
Yes, we should pray for Nigeria, in fact Africa, big time! Most church-goers there believe in emotions and they don’t check the Word to see if the pastor is consistent. *Sigh*….I go to a Bible-believing, non-denominational church now, glory to God, and I still check up on my pastor. Africans don’t, believing Christianity isn’t “intellectual”. In fact, a large number of pastors never went to seminary. I know God calls people out of bad situations, but please, the persecuted Christians in Asia study their Word.
Pray for Africa.
Neeci
hi Neeci good to meet you too,
Yes we def need to be praying right now
let me tell you how EASY it is to become a pastor in nigeria. Each church or commission has its own ‘turn you into a pastor program’ ranging from 6-12 weeks. if you can complete the course then you get the title and all the benifits that come along with it.
Now because the benifits are so good every one is rushing to pastor a church. They’ve all forgetten though that God has to call them, and because some of these people are not called to be shephards the mess they make with Gods sheep is just sad.
One thing i find really interesting is that alot of the ‘big dogs’ who head these vast congregations are also prolific authours. These people must write in their sleep or something with the amount of books they churn out on a monthly basis.
My cousin used to play the organ for one these churches (i wont say the name) the amount of behind the scene nonsense and disunity that occurs is ridiculous. it sounded more like a soap opera than a place where children of God met.
Melvin check out Kenyan Pimp Gilbert Deya, the worst thing is people still attend his church. I might actually have to boycott the ONLY christian channel i was able to watch because i recently noticed they air his program.
yep def continue to pray for Gods mercy to be upon our nation.
