One of the primary premises of this site is the assertion that the pulpit pimps care more for promoting themselves and living off of you than they do for teaching you solid doctrine.
The Bible says that we are not to have anything to do with those who would preach another gospel or another Christ (2 John 9, 10). It makes it very clear that accuracy in doctrine is very, very important.
I mean, think about it. The only difference between Mormons and Christians is a difference in doctrinal matters. Both groups say you should take care of the poor, spend time with your family, and worship God. Certainly all of these are good things we all recognize a person should do.

Unfortunately, the Catholic Church teaches that Mary, the eternal Virgin, is an intermediary between me and Jesus. They say that the grace to live a life pleasing to God has to come through the Church, and that both works and “grace” are required if we want to at least have a chance of getting into Heaven. But of course, it just a matter of doctrine, that foolishness Fred Price said screwed up the church.
Doctrine is important. We don’t have to agree on everything. We can disagree on whether we should have communion every Sunday, the first Sunday, or the fourth Sunday of the month. And we can disagree on whether we should sing only the traditional hymns or go with modern songs. Of course, the more liberal position will usually be willing to tolerate the stricter ones. Some teachings are essentials. Some are “negotiable.”
But some things are not simply a matter of tolerance. Paul told the Galatians that anyone who taught another gospel was accursed (Gal 1:6-8). He had some very stern advice on how to treat those who taught false doctrine (Romans 16:17; Titus 1:10 , As empty, rebellious talkers, seeking sordid gain; 2 Peter 2:1-3 , men (and women) who will exploit your with false words; 2 Peter 2:14 -19 , enticing by fleshly desires, by sensuality)
Not all doctrine is the same. Some doctrine is false, some is true. Opposite teachings cannot simultaneously true. One has to be false and the other true, or both have to be false.
Examples:
a. The Trinitarian doctrine and the Oneness doctrine cannot both be simultaneously true. One of the other is true or both are false.
b. The cross as sufficient payment for our sins as opposed to Jesus suffering in hell for our sins cannot both simultaneously be true. Either one or the other is true or both are false.
c. God having a “God kind of Faith” versus God being the object of our faith cannot both simultaneously be valid. I have to believe one or the other , or neither.
There are more examples, but the ones I have listed are sufficient to continue this discussion.
Pimpus Upandcomingus (also known as Jamal-Harrison Bryant) is in the process of compromising what few doctrinal essentials he may have stood for. He is very quickly going down the same path as John Kenneth Jenkins of the now FBCG Worship Center in Kettering Maryland. Take a look at the following information on Jamal’s website.
Notice anything? Yeah. Harry B is going to be speaking at Noel “The Weasel” Jones’ and Charles Ellis’ churches. Both of these men are proponents of Oneness doctrine. Both are active in the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World (PAW), an organization we have discussed before.
When I communicated with John Jenkins, pointing out that Charles Ellis is Oneness, John’s only response was to accuse me of not knowing how to talk to people. I suspect I didn’t kiss up enough to him, treating him like God’s anointed.
Your boy Jamal is getting ready to do the same thing. He has already brought Cashflow Dollar in to speak to the congregation. Now he is going to lend what credibility his name has to two purveyors of heresies.
If any of you knee-jerk defenders of Jamal have the…um…testicular mass to call your pastor up on this, I would be more than happy to hear the results. But I’m betting (if I were a betting man) that most, if not all of you are going to give that limp-wristed excuse about Jamal belonging to God and letting God correct him. If you take that approach, then you will, at one point or another have to recognize that you do not really love this man.
How many of you would sit back and watch your son or daughter stick a fork into an electrical outlet? Or how many of you would simply sit and watch as your child played in the middle of the Expressway? You would intervene because you wouldn’t want your child to be hurt.
Why would you react differently to a supposed fellow Christian going in the wrong direction? Does his being the pastor somehow mean you let him fall to his death? If he keeps going in the direction he is going, here is what the Bible says will happen to him:
2 Peter 2:1-3 (NASB)
1 But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves. 2 Many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned; 3 and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.
Why would you sit back and wait for the man to fall into the destruction God promises to those who do not turn from teaching heresies and associating with those who teach it? (2 John 9,10)
Love the website man! I have been blessed to sit under two (one white and one black) pastors who have been theologically sound and dare to preach (gasp) expositionally! Whether pastors/teachers fall on this side of error, or on the side of inventing programs and all the sort, we are in a time of famine of the word of God.

First of all, we must realize that yes, His thoughts are not our thoughts but the bible also says that ye shall know the truth and (it) the truth shall make you free. as long as a person is giving scripture in the context in which it is spoken its o.k. The bible says in the book of Isaiah, cry loud,spare not, tell my people their transgression and the house of Jacob there sins. That it is the problem today as it was it that day people do not want to endure sound doctrine, much less be rebuked because of sin. The apostate church is ever so prevalent. Y.M., in your post you mentioned the “spirit” several times, but never once the Word of God. The word is the source of the comments. Either you agree or disagree. How can MJ’s reciting of scriptures like 2Peter 2:1-3 (above) be his opinion anyway? That’s what this is all about-too many folk are concerned about being “spirit led” than they are about reading the Word.

Well I’ll tell you the problem with most of them, and that is that they are not true worshippers of God, Christ said that we must worship the Lord in Spirit and in TRUTH (John 4:19-24), and the problem with this new Black WOF stuff is that it pumps up the “spirit”, but not the truth. We are so caught up on spiritual exstasies and getting our “break through”, and “fresh anointing” (like the very anointing God already gives us isn’t fresh enough), but when it comes to the Word of God we toss it to the corner because we don’t want the truth. And we have the gall to say that these crooks and the lot that aid them are of God when they don’t want the truth of His word.
I look at all these advocates for these name it claim it heathens and it makes me sick because when a brother calls for a return to the Word of God itself (which is the only objective truth) without looking for a “love offering” we put him down and say that he is not representing Christ. Oh but we will gladly let some oneness fool get up in front of us, preach a sermon that involved no exegetical work in it’s preparation (or was highly isogetical in it’s preparation), and rob us blind in the name of God. If we really want to worship God then we must not only stress the “spirit”, but the truth (the Word of God) also.
In the words of Wyclef Jean in his song If I was president, “Tell them the truth, tell the children the truth”. WOF folks I have a “rhema word” for you and that is take the truth, accept the truth, live by the truth, and from there tell God’s children the truth. I don’t care if it is not popular to preach Solo Scriptura (Scripture alone) or Solo Christos (Christ alone: Who is the way, the TRUTH, and the light), they are what needs to be heard.
To all the WOF ministers, tell them the truth even if it means not getting your love offering for a couple of months. Tell them the truth even if it means putting off getting your third private jet, don’t just stress the “spirit”, stress the truth also.
I am a minister and I have to do this too, and I’m not writing this because I envy the big shots who make millions, I write this because I want to see church be about Christ and not the gain of the Christian. I pray blessing over you Melvin and the work that God has called for you to do, and I pray that as you are lead by the true Spirit that he take you further in a proper understanding of the truth (God’s blessed Word).

That started a while ago when preachers starting preaching about sowing at the moment you feel led and not just at the “designated time” That used to happen at my church until people started sowing as the camera was going by so he cut it out and asked that if people felt led to sow in designated spots. Jamal Bryant was on TBN last night what a mess. I couldn’t even keep up with his butchery of scripture. You ‘d need to be on psychotropic drugs to write the script he preached from. He spent the first third of his message bragging about how he went from preaching in a nightclub to having 11,000 members. He taunted the people who didn’t think he would “make it” by saying I’m on television and you’re at home watchin me. (That’s their punishment.)
What I could decipher from his mess was this :
1. Jesus was nailed to a cross but he’s walkin around leaving bloody footprints. (hmmm)
2.He likes to watch CSI
3. Because he watches CSI he is learning about evidence. (deep brother that he is)

I wonder what his parents who are both very well respected (and as I recall theologically astute) AME ministers. They really need to have a serious talk with their son.
While I was diversing myself from the Imus controversy, low and behold our good freind Jamal appears on the televison. This time he says if you sow a $24 dollar seed, you will get anything you want.
I mean, this madness called “Praise-a-Thon” gets craizer each year.
Yeah, I saw that $24 crap. I couldn’t even watch it made me so sick…I have gone from being mad about these preachers and the stuff they spew to very very sad. That probably sounds mushy and sentimental, but it deeply saddens me that people just believe any old thing.
I am seeing something worse as we speak. My son turned down the tv so I can’t hear it now but here was his position thus far.
1. God is going to do something miraculous for you if you give $24 to TBN within the next 24 hours.
2. He is going to pray for this anointing and if you don’t give it in 24 hours you are going to miss his covering the blessing.
3. He somehow switched and said Abraham was going to kill Isaaic because God is a jealous God and sometimes relationships get in the way….
4. He goes on to say that God is seperating you from some relationships (not that bad but) and those relationships include your spouse (whatever happen to Ephesians 5), your children and others.
5. He is now in Leviticus 29 talking about the rams Moses told Aaron to get for his two sons and somehow tied this in to the ram in Genesis when the ram came out of the bush with Abraham. This is when my son turned it off.

Hi: I have one true comment to make. I was attacked my family and I by the use of witchcraft, black magic. I reached out to multiple ministers. Some priests even came to my home and witnessed the unbelievable and never returned. I mean more than one. I must have contacted over 100 ministers and spoke to them in depth. I became saved and the holy spirit began to talk to me and guide me. One of the main source of ministery was t.v.ministry which lead me to salvation. In specifically, brother Jamal Bryant on a weekly basis fed me the very “med” I needed to get out. He made mention of many things that were going on in my life and many statements he made were related exactly to what I was going through and in what I should do. He made many, many predictions and informed me of when I was going to receive a breakthrough and I tell you it happened on that day. This man is an annointed man by God. It is so unfortunate that I cannot relay to you how many times he answered questions and spoke of what was going on right then and there. He even spoke on a regular basis what I was going thruogh and was very specific in details. Let me tell you, God has a way of annointing a person and giving a message to many of his children at one time. Many people know of my situation, many churches and were witnessed what was placed on me (witchcraft). I tell you he is a messenger from God. I will be writing a book of my story and I hope one day, I will be able to tell my story to brother Jamal. He was definitely a vessel used in saving the my life and the life of my children. Only God knows what happened and I tell you, you all are so wrong about this man. Television ministry is a blessing from God. If these men were politicians preaching the gospel, you would have no negative comments to say. Read your bible. Do you not know that God say he would prosper his children. Speaking of your city.. Jamal Harrison Bryant preached a sermon on TV last week on TVOne in which he name dropped 2Pac as his “adopted brother” and told stories of their upbringing. I heard some stuff that I think the guy was lying about, but yet the folks there were hoopin when he said “2Pac”.
One thing in particular, he spoke of he and 2Pac separating when he went to be a “roadie” for Digital Underground, as if he was in Baltimore at that time. Wrong-He became a “roadie” because he was a local hanging with other Bay “locals” living in Marin City Projects (SF) went to Tamplais High (calss of ‘89), and 2Pac was entrenched in bay culture as his moms was an original panther in Oakland. Why and the hec is this guy Harrison lyin’ to kick it on TV?
Tupac Shakur was moved to the West Coast by his mother, because he was getting into so much trouble. And I beleive before that they moved from NY to Baltimore for similar reasons.
His mother and father were part of the original Black Panthers, anti-establishment Black Communists with absolutely no longing for Christ. The men of the bunch, especially in the NY division would have a real time with the ladies from what I’ve been told by people more close to the group. Which many never talk about.
So yea if Bryant said Tupac moved to the West Coast to join Digital Underground that’s a major lie. If Bryant knew Tupac well he’d have to have known Jada Pinkett also, who was a fellow student with Tupac at the Baltimore School of the Arts. And he can’t lie about her, because she’s still living. Tupac was with DU for a time, a really NASTY time, but that’s not why he moved out West and they were not even a group then. He left DU and went solo just as he got a part in the movie Juice and the rest is history. Lock-ups, shooting a cop and getting shot until a bullet killed him.
Tupac’s aunt is original Black Panther and cop shooter Assata Shakur. If any of you ever see her in the USA, please let ME know. Given I’d like to collect that $1 Million reward for her capture. She’s been hiding out in Cuba since she escaped after killing that cop.
I told the congregation I serve last Sunday. That I was down with Whitman Mayo (Grady) back in the day. We use to eat catfish sandwiches together at Santa monica pier (Ca).
I must say they were quite impressed.Isacc from the love boat would drop by sometimes and bring his world famous ginger laced Kool-Aid ,those were the days.We would often get serenaded by the smooth voiced balladeer Shabba Ranks.I must humbly say my crew had more street cred than Tupac.

I know it’s a lie. As much as I know about the region where I am from, you grow up as a black male being taught of the history of the city of Oakland as it was the original home of the Panthers. Jamal was lying. I don’t need a refresher to know that. That irked me. The fact the cat lied so blatently and name dropped a nefarious individual to boot for some street cred.
Many original Panthers are being brought to trial although most are in there late 60’s and early sixties now…and recently they brought a group of 6-8 accused of a police shooting at a SF police station without much evidence and snatched tehm up from all over the country.
Some are still in the Bay, some moved to LA, quite a few were in Ohio and Florida and were all brought back to San Francisco to face trumped up charges.
Jamal said he (Tupac) left B-More to be a roadie for DU. That was a lie…the guy was a local who was hangin’ with area rappers from Oakland (that is how he met DU at a show in Oakland) and even was claimin’ Oakland as his home on wax early on. So for Jamal to lie, and especially about a public figure easily accesible via WWW, and the fact it had ZILCH to do with his message…..was mind boggling.
You do realize that once Eldridge Cleaver got in he brought in a lot of folks with very lengthy criminal histories? Huey P. Newton made it pretty well known, even in his own book Revolutionary Suicide. And then Huey died selling dope…
I’m not saying every charge is firm, but from what I’ve seen, those accused of crimes, whether there is a mountain or molehill of evidence against them all claim they are angels. And Assata’s case had enough against her, that I’m not buying the spin she put down in her own book.

IC, I have a question about your statement about Huey P. Newton. From what little I’ve known or heard about them, if he and the Black Panthers knew about claims that the CIA or maybe the FBI were responsible for putting dope in black urban neighborhoods, why would this man put himself in a position to do such things that he was fighting against. Also, were they responsible for bringing the free lunch program to public schools? Are you saying what they stood for was just a game?

Yes some of their programs were implemented by area governments. They never did anything like prayer before those meals and Bible training, for obvious reasons. They did like passing out copies of Chairman Mao’s Little Red Book for $1. That’s where Huey got much of his inspiration. He didn’t get it from scripture.
IC, yes indeed I’ve read about civil rights leaders, the Black Panthers and claims that they were linked to shall I say the word, Communism. It was a red scare for Black Americans who refused to join. Let me just say a little about Bryant though because I know he’s the topic of discussion. He once railroad and butchered the scripture of Elisha and the Shunamite widow woman. Therefore, I have faced the fact that this man is surely a false prophet who probably changes suits three times a day. One for the 11:30 service, one for the 3:30 service and one for the 7:30 service.
I am trying to think if it was him but someone used the scripture with Naaman that had leprosy and he had to dunk in the dirty waters seven times to be cured. That scripture was used to say that you have to allow yourself to be put in dirty situations to get your blessing.
Maybe we do need down to earth preachers, but there hearts and mind best be in heaven!
