Deebo is one of the many "high profile" members of Eddie Long's club. I pray that brother gets out of there with everyone else.

I recall one year back when I was there, Eddie Long said he was setting up a spot at a hotel or something across from where NBA All Star Weekend was taking place when it was held in Atlanta. He said he wanted to help women who were caught up in prostitution and stuff. I never knew what became of that. Anybody know?

Ministering in a club. It's not wrong if the Lord leads you to do it. But we already know that Long and Jamal Bryant who also preached in a club for years are false teachers who deny the true power of the Lord Jesus, by acting as if someone must <em>pay them to be a good Christian or be cursed in disobedience</em>. I thank God I was able to <a href="http://www.pulpit-pimps.org/archives/2007/04/13/when-is-a-pimp-not-a-pimp" rel="nofollow">help expose them in their recent TBN pimping.</a>

So having Long advocate ministry in a club is to me nothing more than another one of his <b>SHOW</b> deeds of supposed good will. Notice everybody knew ministry would take place at the club. <em>(Since I don't live in Atlanta any more this is the first I've heard of it, but they even were playing secular Hip Hop in the church Family and Life Center over the sound system [while kids played basketball] when I used to go there, before I finally left that club (I mean New Birth) because I realized it was no good.)</em>

If Eddie Long was serious about it and did it because he cared for the lost souls in that club and didn't do it as a <b>show</b> deed. He would have never told anyone. Eddie Long himself would have simply walked into a club any night unannounced and started speaking to people at the bar. Instead, he made a show of it and had a celebrity front for him.

When Jesus ministered to the drunkards, he didn't announce it. He was accused of doing wrong because he was found with them. Jesus didn't make a "show" of it, he went to speak with them and then moved on.

That is so wrong that Long would play on lost souls like that. Obviously he's looking for people with discretionary money that he can put in his own pot.

Having a "service" at a club is totally different from going to minister to people that are in a club. People go to bars and clubs when they've got nothing better to do with their lives. And there was viper Eddie Long, ready to snatch some of them into his game. Despicable!

Melvin, did you ever hear about the church service Newbirth held inside and actual nightclub? It was a year or so ago. Yes, that's right. An actual nightclub, with alcohol and smoking. I think they did it on a Thursday night. One of the guest speakers was Deebo from the movie Friday. The excuse was just what you're talking about here...that we have to reach the world by any means necessary. There was a lot of controversy behind that here in Atlanta.

By the way, I wan't there lol.

I attended a singles conference in which Wanda Davis Turner, Cynthia Hale and Noel Jones were speakers. I didn't get the opportunity to hear Wanda Davis Turner, but actually Cynthia Hale and Noel Jones were pretty good. Both we encouraging discussing living life as a single Christian and being comfortable where you are and in the state of singleness that God has for this moment. Today, I think we have too many singles looking for mates and their own lives are a reck going somewhere to happen instead being whole themselves, allowing themselves to heal from divorce or past relationships prior to receiving God's best for them.

I never went to one of these "conferences", given even when I went to Eddie's church I never felt a need to PAY A DOOR FEE to fellowship. And well, even then I realized THAT WAS NOT CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP. It's an effort to simulate the world and call it Holy. New Birth has been involved in efforts to make "Christian clubs" in the past when I was there. I never went.

I did attend some of the "Single's Ministry" sessions and one free outing they had in conjunction with the mentoring ministry I was involved with. I realized after a few sessions that it was not for me.

I knew that I was a single man who should marry. And they were not helping me in that regard. They were doing a great job at helping me if I desired to be living the <em>"Single Life"</em>, as in the Cameo song. Some of the ministering spoke to not fornicating, however you could tell just the opposite was in full process. The focus to me was not righteousness and finding the qualities of a person God would have you marry, but rather just being single and somehow being at peace with it while knowing everybody in the room was having a hormonal fit! The whole room was the BURNING side of <a href="http://www.gnpcb.org/esv/search/?q=1+Corinthians+7%3A8-9" rel="nofollow">1 Corinthians 7:8-9</a> and there was plenty of talk in the sessions about "dating", but they seemed to target it towards singleness, rather than looking to live holy and marry.

And when you started going to those sessions, you had to sign in and then they'd call your house if you started missing sessions with the "Single's Ministry" Friday Night Service. It was really weird. Like I said, I was involved in mentoring and had been going to the church for a long time, so it's not like I was a new-jack there seeing something as odd. I did not feel it was "Christian love" that had them calling me, but a desire to keep numbers up. Can't say I heard anyone say that, but it's New Birth folks. It's a "business", with Eddie Long as the CEO.

I was there and I knew I should leave those sessions and never return. Instead the Lord helped me find my wife and later I broke from Club New Birth completely.

I thank God He delivered me from that place.

I don't believe you are dogging out pastors, I believe you are speakiing the truth in love. I also believe that you are only pointing out the wolves in sheep clothing (Matt 7:15). I am a young woman 18 years old and I will tell you one thing I would not be free if I had been under the ministry of these false prophets. Hell is a horrible place, and sin leads you there, so making people feel good in what there in is evil. Thank you for telling the truth.

Yes, Kat we are supposed to be separated, HOLY, from the world.

1 Peter 1:15-17 (Amplified)

"But as the One Who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all your conduct and manner of living. For it is written, You shall be holy, for I am holy. And if you call upon Him as your Father Who judges each one impartially according to what he does, [then] you should conduct yourselves with true reverence throughout the time of your temporary residence [on the earth, whether long or short]."

1 Peter 2 :9 (Amplified)

"But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God's] own purchased possession, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light."

No, no, no, no, no!!! Fast Eddie calls it a conference. It's a four day conference of dancing, jazz, and a lot of other stuff. But it's a conference, not a club, and certainly not a party.

Try as I might, other than the "Spoken Word" and the probability that there will be no alcohol at the conference, I just can't see the difference between the dance club on the right and the "Singles Conference." I wonder how many young women (and young men, by the way) are going to meet their ruin at this debacle.

Biblical Discernment:

John 7:24 - Judge not according to appearance, but judge righteous judgement.

Hebrews 4:12 - The Word of God ... is a discerner of the "thoughts" and "intents" of the "HEART".

Matthew 15:18 - But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the "HEART", and they defile the man.

Matthew 15:19 - 20 - For out of the "HEART" proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemie: ...These are the things which defile a man: ...

Galatians 5:19 - 21 - Now the works of the flesh are manifested, which are these: Adultery, fornication, uncleaness, lasciviousness, idolatry, withchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkeness, and revellings ..

Galatians 5:21 ... and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall "not" inherit the kingdom of God.

John 12:48 - He that rejecteth me, and receiveth "not" my Words, hath one that judgeth him; the Word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

Righteous Judgement:

Beloved, believe "not" every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God. Judge "all" things righteously, which is judgment based solely and strictly according to the inerrant, infallible, and eternal Word of the Living God.

1 Corinthians 2:15 - He that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

In the love of Jesus Christ,
Deb

That is so sad to see things like that, promoting a Christian activity like it was some kind of meat market. Where do people come up with the idea that this in any way resembles the spreading of the gospel we see in scripture?

This is the same guy, when referring to visiting with the President of the United States, who said, "just because we had a dialouge, doesn't mean there was intercourse." (indirect quote from my fairly good memory) There have been other very risque' comments from Pimpus Maximus. I think that's why people get so offensive while defending the pimps; part of the allure of the pimps is that most of them allow a certain "spiritual freedom" and they are getting a degree of worldliness AND the promise of heaven AND the promise of prosperity . Who can turn that down?

By the way, does that say "Dress to impress" on the young lady? Or is that another graphic from the over-price webmaster? If not, is it encouraging young ladies to dress how they would if they were going to the Stellar Awards?

<strong>(Melvin's Note: <em>Yes it does say "Dress to Impress". And I promise you, I made no modifications to the graphic. It shows only what Pimpus Maximus allowed to be posted. I try, when I modify an image, to make it as obvious as possible. Unfortunately, these guys are sometimes so outrageous it becomes a matter of life imitating art. In the future I will try to make sure I note the fact that an image I put out there has or has not been modified. For instnace, the lastest posting of Jamal is one I built. However, the popularity ballot was straight from Jamal. </em>)</strong>
