The pimps are getting more and more interesting; more and more obvious. Or perhaps they are getting more and more obvious about their true desires. It’s getting so if you want to become a Bigdog, you must shamelessly promote yourself. And Jamal-Harrison Bryant is quickly mastering the art of self-promotion.
The Bible says that we are not to think more highly of ourselves than we ought (Romans 12: 3). But rather we are to think so as to have sound judgment.
It also says we are to have humility. In fact, the New Testament talks about this over and over again. We are given outstanding examples of humility.
Starting with Paul, the writer of most of the New Testament, we hear him say:
· 1 Corinthians 15:9
For I am the least of the apostles, and not fit to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
· Ephesians 3:8
To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ,
· Romans 7:18
For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not.
Do you get the general drift here? The Apostle Paul avoids building himself up. He takes an approach of humility, or recognizing that whatever contributions he makes in the Body of Christ, they are done through the grace of God. He doesn’t look for personal recognition or glory.

When i watched a broadcast on tvone of Pastor Bryant I said to myself I want to visit that church. But when I googled the site to get the address I was put off by the BMW and Bling and I am of this generation! If I was running to my church every Sunday because of a man and his vision I would need to re-evaluate my salvation. Its God’s word and his love that has me running and believe me I love my pastor but he’s not the reason, Jesus is. People are unforrtunately worshipping people instead of the savior. Nevertheless I will still visit because the word was on time. But let there be no mistake- only God knows the hearts of men! The word also states that narrow is the gate (everyone that says they serve god wont make it in)! Therefore watch who you run to. And to others Slander and hurtful words are not Gods way. Pray for those who may be treading the wrong path.
Yeah……….even if you have to LIE to get them into church, it’s OK. It’s all good if you have to present the Gospel as a tool for Empowering MAN rather than a mandate to DENY YOURSELF, take up the Cross of suffering, and follow Christ. Even if you have to present a false Jesus Who promises to make them rich to get them into church, it’s OK.

It’s the word of God that gets people running to the church, at least it should be. If people goin there for some other reason than the meat of the gospel, chances are they’re getting pimped, or they are being deprived of His Word.

I have heard him preach a few times and I can only stomach a few seconds of it. No anointing at all.
What does flocking to church prove exactly?? Why is it always in the numbers? How good is it to have these people coming to church if they are being fed lies? Why also is it so important that they are young people? I am a young person and even I know and understand the importance of other generations being present. To me it just sounds like a club that meets in a church from 11:00-12:30.
Another thing that I have noticed in all of the ETs postings. I dont know or understand why everyone is so quick to defend Jamal Bryant and not the message of Jesus! Why is everyone so easily angered when Jamals name is questioned but they never bat an eye in the middle of the church service, when he stands up and makes a mockery out of Jesus’ name?? Read the post, I will say as I have said in prior post. It’s not at all about Pastor Bryant!!! You are making it about him! Remove the man and receive the message. No matter what you say the man has a powerful word. A sk the 200 members, and the 8,800 spectators.
All of what you’re saying is blah to me! The word is the word! The people have to be open to receive it. So if it takes a little black man (MN: Again you have introduced race) from West Baltimore to reach some of the un churched, and the ones who have been crying out, but are cast down and have been hurt by “church folk” who can always quote a scripture, but have no substance, then so be it.
Not everyone can quote scripture or know the bible inside out. That dosen’t mean you’re doomed! God talks, we have to listen, and know when it is God. You have to go where the spirit leads you! Please stop making this about a Pastor! The christian walk is the best and the hardest step a person can make. Spiritual growth and supernatural success, does not always mean money and material things. Again that’s small thinknig.
You can define it anyway you choose, but to me it means building your relationship with God, trusting Him, seeking His face, and walking with Him daily! Money, cars, that’s nothing compared to God’s grace. You can’t put a price on that!! That to me is supernatural success! It’s really not a matter of visiting the site because I do or don’t like it. I visit the site to warn people about his actions and who he associates with. If I don’t visit the site, I can’t keep up with what he is doing. I’d have to make up stuff. But he does so much there is no need (or desire) to make things up. In fact, I couldn’t imagine some of the stuff he does and says.

I watched on Streaming faith.com Empowerment temples New years Service and I admit it was good for me up until it got real strange when Rev. Jamal start prophesing folks current problems(never provided a solution) and called them to the altar,which I don’t know look real staged is he minister or a prophet I’m new to the Empowerment Temple thing so could someone educate me on what I was watching. Are we feeding sheep or amusing goats? I love your responses REV_AK. I thank God for those of you who are on this site who have allowed the Lord to remove the scales from your eyes. You know guys it is pretty obvious that some of the responders don’t do much studying of the Word. It is amazing how one can show people the errors of these pimps doctrine and they still believe in them.
I believe some people don’t really want to know the truth. Their allegiance to men is far more important than a true relationship with God. What is so sad is that as time goes on these pimps get even more deluded in their interpertation of scripture. Do many of you realize at the day of reckoning this will be no excuse as to why you chose to live a particular life? We are to examine the word of these leaders with scrutiny.
The devil will use whom is available for him to use. The devil also has his own ministering angels on assignment. Why do many of us look for the devil to announce that he is showing up on Sunday in many of the pulpits of the world. That would be totally against his nature which is deceiver, liar and crafty.
Remember even in the beginning of the church Paul warned the saints that out of their camp will false teachers arise.(Acts 20:29-30) Do we dare think anything different for today? I was hoodwinked, bamboozled and conned at one time many years ago. I’m telling you out there who may be in denial. Open your mind to the understanding of scripture and get the right spirit. The true Holy Spirit of God because it is going to bear witness to itself.
When the word is not being taught right, taught with an inbalance or not taught in it’s entirety.. The spirit of God ought to get vexed. Could you imagine eating sugar cookies, cake, candy or whatever everyday all day for the rest of you life? The effects would be devastating to your body. I like sweets every now and then but I wouldn’t live on it. It’s not healthy for one and I probably wouldn’t live too long on that type of diet.
Well look at it in the spirit. The prosperity message is relevant though not the foundation of the believer’s life. The name it claim it, word faith message or whatever is very weak at best or totally unfounded in scripture.
Our puny faith cannot manipulate God to do our will or bidding. (Ex.) Myles Munroe thinks it can. He says God needs man’s ok to interfere in earthly matters. He must have never read (Daniel 4:35) I thought it was hilarious though sad that he could be so delusional. These guys attempt to no avail to rob God of who He is.
The word says deny ourselves but we continue to allow these hucksters to tell us love yourselves and this life while the Word of God says totally different. Fleshy is as fleshy does and you are what you eat. If many of you continue to listen to these types you will be full of junk and when you eat to much junk you get sick. If you’re sick long enough you will surely die. Many of you may be dying spiritually or already spiritually dead. Don’t take my word for anything. Search the scripture diligently, ask the Lord for instruction and don’t bow out when he reveals things to you.
When I found out I was being duped, I was totally shocked too. However over the long haul you will appreciate the revelation of knowing you were once blind but now you see. Stop getting caught up in the goose bump experience. Just because it sounds right, feels right doesn’t necessarily mean it’s right. Sex with someone of your desire sounds right, feels right or whatever.. However sex out of order of God isn’t right for example.
What these guys do. They hoop and holla, it sounds right. You get goose bumps, it feels right. But once you dissect the text isn’t right most times according to scripture. I’m talking from experience. I was privilege at a time to travel the world in ministry with an old Pastor of mines. I ASSURE YOU MOST OF THEM ARE OUT FOR YOUR MONEY. I could get into something else on this topic but I will add this to think on. Do many of you know that we are to be good stewards over the finiances God has given us.
There is only two types of kingdoms in this world. It’s either the Lord Saviour Jesus Christ or the devil’s. Be mindful where you “sow” your money and your TIME. If you accept God as all-powerful, all-knowing and the one true God, then spend time teaching what is truth and less time attempting to argue with fools. I honestly see what you’re trying to do, but what you are doing is creating infighting within the body of Christ. This is a useless expendature of energy. Curtis, Paul’s writings show us that he did the very same thing that is being done here. He warned people about the dangers of false teachers (e.g. Galatians, etc.) Would you characterize his efforts a useless expenditure of energy too?
Despite the fact that God gave each of us a brain, some folks don’t have sense enough to come in out of the rain before they drown, so they need to be warned about the various dangers in life. To me, it’s no different with these false teachers - people who don’t have good common sense and accept everything some false teacher tells them at face value need to be warned that they’re in danger.
And once again, the “no one is perfect” argument doesn’t fly when it comes to false teachers. We’re all striving for perfection in some aspect or another; however, when it comes to preaching and teaching, the Bible makes it clear that preachers and teachers have greater responsibility. They are required to be especially careful and dilligent in how they relay the Word of God.
