Pastor John Coleman is carnal and full of errors. A brief glance at his site revealed he’s against female preachers. His revelations are not from the spirit of God. Therefore, we don’t need to read any further!!!
Okay. I guess you have already made up your mind. No need to confuse you with the facts. You may want to stop reading this posting as well. ‘Cause I agree that women should not be pastors.
At the Risk of being unpopular w/ all you people who I don’t know…
Let’s look at what the Bible says:
(*side note: The bible is the holy word of God, that was written by the God the Holy Spirit, through men. )
(2nd Tim. 3:16) God is all powerful and is more than capable of keeping His word pure… So I don’t want to hear that the following verses are “Just the apostle Paul’s opinion”.
1st Timothy 2:11-14
11 Let a woman learn in silence with all submission. 12 And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.
1st Timothy 3:1-7
1 This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a bishop,* he desires a good work. 2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach; 3 not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous; 4 one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence 5 (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); 6 not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil. 7 Moreover he must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
A few things :
1. Women shouldn’t teach men. (according to Scripture) And the pastor/bishop’s job is to teach/equip the saints for the work of the ministy. Pastors also are given authority over their flocks. So therefore a woman should not be teaching a man or leading a church..
How does it look for man who is supposed to be the head of his house hold, going to his female pastor for advice on how to be a man and how to lead his household???
2. If you look at the requirments in 1st Tim 3, you can clearly see those verses tell us that only men are to be bishops/pastors.
“A MAN desires the position…” “must be a HUSBAND…” “if a MAN cannot rule…”
This does not mean that women can not be used to teach or to minister (serve the body of Christ), in fact women are exhorted to teach children and older women are to teach younger women. Again if you look through out the bible and church history you wont see women pastors, but you will see women serving (ministering) the body. (Side note #2: Aquilla and Percilla were not Pastor and Co-pastor of the church that met at their house) If I am not mistaken the rise in women wanting to be pastors didn’t occur until the 60 or so years, and got even more popular w/ the whole womens lib movement.
And yes I will acknowledge that the Lord can use anyone, and has used certain women in the old testament as leaders…but they weren’t “PASTORS”, and as we just read that God’s word is clear on who should be “Pastors” (not ministers), and no matter how much their may be a need for a pastor, God isn’t going to contradict His Word and have a women be a Pastor.
I once Pastored a church that was formerly run by a woman. I used to be totally accepting of this practice, but after the first few days on the job, I began to rethink it and began studying the Word. As I have stated elswhere, that doctrinal issue is one of many that caused me to resign and leave the whole denomination (Assemblies of God).
You said you don’t want to offend, but its not your words. How can we be offended when you masterfully quoted scripture? People like Michelle, and Preacher and others may get mad and react with emotions, but when confronted with the Word of God, just like me, they will have to evaluate where they stand.
This is an issue that I feel is much bigger than we realize. Everytime the TV is on, there is “Prophetess” Bynum, PaulaWhite, Serita Jakes, Joyce Meyer, Marilyn Hickey, and a host of other “anointed” speakers. As much as we love our wives/mothers/daughters/sisters, this is an issue the church MUST face up to. In other words, I don’t think you will be unpopular at all with the fans of this site!!
Ah, Rev_Ak, or whoever you are, Serita Jakes is the first lady, not a pastor, and the bible says that women shouldn’t be pastors, but they can speak in front of a congregation as Serita Jakes and others do from time to time. Since you are always on Melvin bandwagon, do some more research before you start printing things that sound ridiculous. At least Melvin does some research. Show up for class next time (Melvin 101 “Hating Big Churches”)
(Melvin’s Note: Actually, the good Rev is not off base. I have seen her teaching a mixed audience on several occasions. That is something she should not do. Mrs. Copeland, and Mrs. Dollar do the same thing. If you like, I can go to their site and provide you with the links to watch Taffi Dollar and Gloria Copeland. I may be able to cull a couple of Mrs. Jakes now that here hausband has started putting some of his stuff out there for free. )
I use to attend From the Heart Church Ministries years ago, and I did hear Mrs. Cherry teach, but she wasn’t the pastor, he husband was. She spoken on numerous women and parenting issues. Pastor Cherry was the pastor. His wife just spoke or lectures on several occassions. I was a member when they were Full Gospel AME so I know what I am talking about.
Well, I would like to first start off stating that I am an Apostolic Pentecostal Christian, not belonging to either the UPC or PAW.
I didn’t know what thread to post on, so i guessed I would just post on this one. I understand what you are saying about these Bishops and so called prophets and prophetses preaching what I like to call the “feel good” gospel. But my problem is this, why do you bash a denomination you know absolutely nothing about? (Melvin’s Note: I know what the denomination says about itself on its web sites. If they don’t think what they are saying is bashing them, then why would my repeating it be bashing them? Remember, earlier, I clearly stated that a person being Oneness doesn’t make them a pimp. They may be lost/unsaved, but they are not necessarily a pimp. Aside from a person’s outward behavior and actions, I can’t judge motive. Where in this statement is bashing?)
The same thing you and others say about Apostolic “Christians” and I stress on Christians, some say the same thing about you. Any man or woman who calls Jesus their Lord, God (which is a man made word), and Savior is a brother to me (Red alert - Oneness doctrine talking! ).
Just because you believe God is 3 persons which the Bible does not state, does not make you any less a brother than the Bishops whom you slander(MN: Please show me the slander. What have I said about particular people that is not true or relevant to the issue at hand?). As the book of Galatians 6:4 says, “Let every man prove his own work”.
And remember this please, gossiping and being a busybody posting things about people on your web is a sin just like any other.
One last thing. It seems like the children of God on this site just like others do nothing but slander and argue amongst each other. I can find that in the street. Your job and my job are to preach (or proclaim) the gospel (MN: Which gospel? The one that denies Jesus’s pre-exixtence or the one that see’s Jesus as co-equal and co-eternal? They are not the same Jesus. One is able to pay for our sins. The other is not. ) to every creature whom has a soul, not tear down and bring disension among the body.
Sinners already talk bad about the body of Christ and they come to sites like this and see Saints talking about other Saints (MN: But those who would preach another gospel are not a part of the Body of Christ. They are not “other saints.” They are anathema, or accursed. ) I am offended not only by the topics on this website but the character of the persons whom speak on this site.
Please work out your OWN salvation with fear and trembling. Because you don’t even know your OWN future outcome in this life. Work on that.
Yes, I almost forgot. Before you even start on my doctrinal errors, research on how yours came about (i.e. the trinity), not just what you think you know, but what history actually states. I say this in love so you and others don’t keep looking like fools, bashing other Christian brothers and sisters.
Research about how trinitarians killed other Christians over doctrinal differences in early church history. You may not be killing physically but you are killing spiritually with your words. And I am not talking about the double edged sword of the word either.
Jesus would not name anyone pimp of the month as you do. Please do not be offended by these posts. You have my personal email address and I would be more than happy to dialog with you that way also. Please remember this, Christ was not beaten, spat upon, mocked, and scorned so that we as His Children could dog out each other. And his disciples were not put to death and locked up in prison so we could enjoy the benefit of slander, and being a busybody.
I love your comments. But you have to understand one thing. I have no real reason to be quick to point out your doctrinal errors. The site is not here to do that (although on occasion I certainly have).
You seem like a sincere fellow who knows pretty much what he believes even if he doesn’t necessarily have a good basis from scripture for believing it.
I have enjoyed your posts as I am certain the few readers who visit the site have.
Melvin, I have many, many reasons according to scripture for believing what I do. Just ask, and I will point out everything you need to know. I am only 26 years old and still learning.
The bottom line is this, and I hope you can grasp it. There will be no Pentecostal, Baptist, Presbyterian, Lutheran, Catholic (most of them are heretical), Methodist, nor Protestant sections in God’s Kingdom. We are all one in HIM. When you respond to my posts, you do not have to show your arrogant, judgemental side.
I will respect you as long as you can respect me and others who don’t necessarily agree with you. Now we both agree that God is one (RED ALERT: ONENESS TALKING) -joking, but we don’t agree on how he is one.
There are many, many, many theories on this and the truth will not come out completely until Christ establishes his kingdom. I will not judge you and you will not judge me in light of what you think you know. Thank you sir. Yours in Christ Jesus.
(MN: Shall I not post your comment before this one? )
And on Jesus’ co-equality, He has ALL POWER! And please stop, putting your comments on my post to make me look like the bad guy You and I are brothers regardless of what the other one thinks.
(MN: For the most part, the notes are just an efficient way of responding to a comment. I don’t think any of the other readers interpret it that way. By the way, Mormons have a slightly different theology as well. Are they also your brothers in Christ? )
I do not deny the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. All I am saying is that it all is resident in Christ. He is the only Visible image of God we will ever see or know.
(MN: One last comment and then I gotta go. Mormons don’t deny the Father, the Son, or the Holy Ghost, and neither do Jehovah’s Witnesses. They simply define them differently than orthodox Christianity. So I will ask again: Are Mormons also our brothers in Christ? I’ll check your answer when I get home. Anybody else out there want to comment? Feel free to do so. )
I agree with you on a lot of aspects of what you believe as far as the “money cometh, make me feel good gospel” and pimpery in the church. I will even agree with you on your feelings on putting the world in the church and your views on women pastors. The only difference I see we have is the view on the Godhead. Everything else from what I have surfed on your site about, I agree with you on.
About your comment on the Mormon’s (the computer I am on runs slow). I am and neither are none of my brethren like the mormons. They have a completely different bible and message (The Book of Mormon). We both share the same bible but interpret it differently. You are a brother to me. We both know that Jesus is God made man. But the only difference is that you believe he is second, and I believe he is the first and the last. Regardless of that, I am sure that I will see you in glory. But back to the Mormon question (they are wayyyyyy, off base) (MN: But from what I understand of Scripture, you are waaaay out there if you deny the trinity. What’t the difference between you and the mormons? You have apostles, they have apostles. Simpy telling me they are way off base isn’t telling me anything. What, speficifcally about their theology do you disagree with? And why?) . And the same could be said about you and me when it comes to other people’s interpretation. Stop worrying about other people’s differences and lets just start working together to win souls for Jesus.
My wife and I had these differences last year. She was brought up Missionary baptist and I was brought up Pentecostal holiness. Two totally different theologies, but God saw fit for us to reconcile our differences with one another. And maybe if the church would just focus winning souls than pimping saints, bickering about doctrine, and disagreeing all the time, we would have the soul harvest that all Christians should be striving for. Thank you Melly Mel.
You have very interesting points. Again let every man prove his OWN work. Jesus is THE LORD. You and I both know it and that’s what should matter. Not your statement of faith and not a creed. I can’t speak for Mormons, baptists, pentecostals, anyone but myself. I am right in Christ’s sight. And so are you, just leave it at that, and pray that you are counted worthy to enter his kingdom when all is said and done.
One last thought. In the body of Christ we have baptists talking about pentecostals. We have pentecostals baptist bashing. We have protestants murdering methodists. We have catholics killing everything that doesn’t agree with them. We have brother against brother, father against son, mother against daughter It’s sickening, and it grieves the Spirit of Christ. (MN: Did you ever read Matthew 10:34, 35. Are you saying Jesus is sickening?). Now even though I am on your heretical list, you are still my brother. Christ said I would be hated for his name sake (MN: I don’t hate you. So give the martyr pose a rest. Being a heretic isn’t the same as being a pimp. Though usually the pimps are also heretics. ). And everything that is going on is just a fulfillment of that.
And I’m sure if Christ (my King) was to elevate me to a higher status in this sinful world. People like you (I am sure you have good intentions) will put me on there websites as well (MN: Only if you pimp the saints. And bad doctrine is not the same as pimping the saints. Although you need to promote bad doctrine in order to pimp them. ) , but like Tonex said, “I am not going to compromise it, You can email me, you can put it on the message boards!” I am sure you and I will have many conversations in the future and I look foward to every single one of them.
YOU ARE A VERY BITTER PERSON, AND I PRAY THAT GOD HAVE MERCY ON YOU AND NEVER ELEVATE YOU TO INFLUENCE ANYONE ELSE WITH YOUR HATRED. ONE LAST THING, I AM NOT SAYING JESUS IS SICKENING. I AM SAYING YOU AND OTHERS LIKE YOU ARE. SO HIDE BEHIND YOUR LITTLE WEBSITE AND KEEP REFUTING EVERYTHING PEOPLE HAVE TO SAY TO YOU. YES I DENY THE TRINITY BECAUSE IT IS A MAN MADE DOCTRINE. HISTORY STATES THIS AND HISTORY DOESN’T LIE. EVERYTHING IN THE BIBLE STATES THAT GOD IS ONE LORD, FOR SOME ODD REASON PEOPLE (LIKE YOU) THINK ONE MEANS 3 OR 4 OR WHATEVER NUMBER. AND DON’T TRY TO THROW GREEK AT ME BECAUSE THE BIBLE WAS TRANSLATED IN ENGLISH FOR A PURPOSE. SO YOUR GREEK WORDS REALLY DON’T MATTER TO ME. I PROBABLY KNOW GOD’S WORD BETTER THAN YOU DO, SO DON’T TWIST HIS WORD AND TRY TO COME AT ME WITH SOMETHING THAT IS IRRELEVANT TO IT. YOUR HATRED IS EVIDENT IN YOUR WORDS AND THAT IS SICKENING. CHRIST (MY FATHER) IS NOT SICKENING, BUT YOU AND OTHER’S LIKE YOU ARE. SO AGAIN HIDE BEHIND YOUR WEBSITE AND TRUST IN THE FACT THAT GOD WILL NEVER ELEVATE YOU TO POISON OTHERS WITH YOUR DEADLY POISON. I TELL OTHERS ABOUT YOUR SITE AND THEY LAUGH AT YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE A SAD INDIVIDUAL. NOW I KNOW YOU WILL AD LIB TO ALMOST EVERYTHING I SAY BUT REMEMBER THIS, ANY MAN WHO HAS NOT THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST (WHICH IS THE HOLY GHOST) THEY ARE NONE OF HIS. AND FROM WHAT I AND OTHER’S HAVE EXPERIENCED FROM YOUR SITE IS NOTHING BUT HATERISM. YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A HATER AND YOU NEED TO CHECK YOURSELF. YOURS IN CHRIST JESUS. ONE LAST THOUGHT BEFORE I NEVER VISIT THIS SITE AGAIN. I HOPE YOU MAKE A DECENT AMOUNT OF MONEY OFF YOUR SITE, BECAUSE IF YOU KEEP THIS UP YOU ARE GONNA CATCH A LAWSUIT FOR DEFEMATION. NOW BASH THIS BLOG! MAY THE HOLY GHOST LEAD YOU OUT OF YOUR DARK LONELY CLOSET.
(Melvin’s Note: I guess my first question is: Why are you shouting? Surely we can have a discussion like two reasonable human beings. It seems you have gotten very upset simply because I quote Scripture to you. Jesus said he came to divide father against son, mother against daughter, based on a difference of who they say He is. You say the lack of unity (based on who we say He is), is sickening to you. Yet Jesus came to do exactly that. If He came to do what you find sickening then you must find Him sickening. If I am misusing this verse, tell me how. But if I am using it accurately, then I believe the onus is on you to explain how your response is consistent with what Jesus Himself says, and why you think “unity” at the cost of Truth is acceptable.
So far I have addressed only the pimps twisting or ignoring of Scripture in order to take advantage of the sheep. How is that hateful? I have pointed out that they teach doctrines contrary to Scripture. The Trinity’s truth or fallacy is not even an issue on this site except as related to the pimps’ willingness to ignore the difference. You seem to have made it an issue and appear to be attempting to portray me as one who is hating you because you disagree with me on that doctrine. If you could show me in my writings where I have disrespected you and your stand on the Trinity I would be most grateful. However, if you can’t, then I suggest you drop the persecuted act and deal with the issues at hand.
By the way, thanks for the publicity. Please continue to tell others about the site. Even “bad” publicity is better than none at all.
Why don’t you post what we discussed over the secured site so other’s can see where I am coming from brother?
(Melvin’s Note: What secured site? I have posted everything you have sent except for the one you asked me not to post, or at least said you had changed your mind about posting. What is it I’m keeping from others?
I sent you an e-mail last night. But I don’t know if you have responded since I can’t get to my pulpit-pimp e-mail from here. I guess now would be a good time to ask if I have permission to post portions or our e-mail discussions on this site. Do I have permission to do that?)
Hey man, you know what? You are right you didn’t disrespect me. Enough about doctrine. Why do feel in your heart that most televangelists are Magic Don Juan (the green and gold Lucky Charm) pimps?
(Melvin’s Note: You keep putting words in my mouth. I didn’t say most televangelists are pimps. I have been very specific about who I think is pimping the sheep and have given very specific examples of their pimping, all of which is publicly avaialable. Most of the time I am simply repeating what they say without the flowery and dramatic extras. Cashflow Dollar has repeatedly claimed that Jesus’ death on the cross did not pay for our sins. He also said that Jesus was not God while he was here on earth. He then turns around and tells the people they should expect God to bless them with money and riches, especially if they bless him with their faith seeds. )
What’s your view point on “Apostolic Succession”? Definition provided for the sakes of the readership:
Apostolic Succession: “Christian doctrine of bishops authority: the doctrine of some Christian denominations that the ordination of bishops follows in an unbroken line of succession from the Apostles, providing the basis of their spiritual authority”
I care for you, William, and I know that you are sincere in your beliefs. I was sincere in many of my beleifs, too. But over time, as I became more deeply educated in the Word, things that I once was very dogmatic about were not so important to me. I even realized that some of my beliefs were in error.
In your post, you stated that you were 26. I am also a young man (32) and one of the things we must learn to do as we mature is be ready to accept if we might be wrong. That doesn’t mean you are bad, don’t love the Lord, etc, but it means that you may have to spend a lot of time evaluating the Word of God.
If you read “about me” on this site, Melvin was at one time immersed in the non-trinitarian view in an apostolic church. I feel if you will truly seek the Lord, and meditate on His Word, then you will come to see the truth.
God bless you.
(is this a record for posts in a 24 hour period?) (MN: Just about. The Jamal Posting did pretty well too. )
I have already visited the Let Us Reason site and it is no different than any other apologetic site. Jesus is THE LORD and there is no other alternative.
No offense concerned christian brother or sister (you didn’t disclose it), I may not have all the answers to the bible and neither do you. But I do know this, I have the Holy Ghost and without the Holy Ghost, you will not be saved. And I have the gift of the Spirit. So don’t judge what you don’t know or don’t understand. Just because you left the church doesn’t mean I or others will. There are millions of trinitarians and there are millions of so-called “jesus only”. Big deal I won’t judge you and you will not judge me.
(MN: I wasn’t going to say anything, but your post kind of insists I say something.
Throughout your postings you have said things like: You’re my brother in Chrst, the differences don’t matter, etc.
But now you are saying that I have left the church. How could I be a Christian (your brother in Christ) if I have left the church?
You say that you have the Holy Spirit, seeming to imply that I do not. After all, from what you ahve said, if I did, I would view the Trinitarian doctrine as a error, as you do. If I do not have the Holy Spirit then I am none of His and therefore am not saved. But if this is so, then again that says I am not your brother in Christ. Instead, I am lost.
So which is it? Are we brothers in Chrsit despite our differences, or do I not have the Spirit? )
But I still hold true that if you do not have the Spirit of Christ, you are none of His. These are not my words, Rev.
(MN: It’s not a question of whether or not they are your words. The question is: How can you say we are your brothers and sisters if we do not have the Spirit? You can’t have it both ways. Either we are your brothers and sisters or we are not. Which is it?)
(MN: That’s not the issue at the moment. The question on the table is: How can we have the Spirit if we have left the church? And how can we be your brothers and sisters if we do not have the Spirit?)
The only thing that joins us as brothers and sisters is the Holy Ghost. No man can say Jesus is the Lord but by the Holy Ghost. Does that answer your question Rev.
(MN: No, it does not answer my question. I did not ask “What makes us brothers?” I asked “How can you say we are your brothers and sisters if we have, by your measure, left the church?” )
And I am not talking about speaking in tongues either. I am talking about repenting, getting baptized, and receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost. So don’t try to trap me Melly Mel.
This position is a a great perspective into how a oneness preacher can come and preach at JKJ’s church or any other trinitarian church.
Have you notice how the tone in the messages change the more Melvin refuses to budge on his position? I bet if JKJ challenged Jakes and stood firm on the Trinity, he too would have the same experience, and find that Jakes, Noel Jones, etc. don’t accept him.
William was fine as long as he could present a false sense of tolerance, but his response becomes more and more intolerant for the Trinitarian. First, it was all good, then he refers to the Trinity as a man made doctrine, then he accuses Trinitarians as the killers of other Christians, then he states that there is no distinction, Jesus plays the role of Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Trinitarians would view this as a schizophrenic Jesus, who talks to himself and answers!
Anyway, my observation is this exchange can be considered a model for the oneness’ approach to converting the “unsaved” Trinitarian. That’s why I always say that Jakes and others will always preach at JKJ’s church and other like it because it is viewed as a missions trip, UNTIL they encounter resistance then the true feeling will arise.
(MN: I’m not answering the question yet. We still have an issue to settle becuase you have presented a major contradiction. You insist that I am your brother AND that I have left the church. Until you explain how this can be, we are simply talking past each other. If you can’t or won’t explain it, say so and then we can talk about something else as you feel comfortable. Of course if you choose not to settle the issue first, we are at an impasse. It’s your choice. But I sure hope you choose to step up and engage in the conversation. Your question asking about whether or not I have the Spirit is, at this point, somewhat irrelevant until we settle the issues at hand. )
Note to Melvin- if he does respond to the brother/sister thing, I would like to tell him I have been challenged before by people of his faith, i.e. “have you been down in the name?” but I also have respect for your site and unless Deb or Damagoh or someone else responds, I would like to let you handle it because I assume you are only allowing William to post because it is good reading for all of us and allows us a peak into the mind of the pimped. (such were some of us) Also, i do not wish to give the young man a feeling are “ganging up” on him. BTW, this guy is eerily similar to the guy who said his parents were strict and then said “God” told him to leave. Think its the same guy??
The holy ghost has led me to this point. Arguing with critics is pointless…you all will always have something to say about something. It is a sad thing, but you can’t help it. You accuse any brethren who doesn’t agree with you. Well I leave you with this statement…..Repent and turn away from your sin or you will never see God. Stay blessed. No need to respond to this.
Ok, I ‘m ganging up, but how can we have the need to “repent and turn away from our sin…” and “stay blessed”? Also, this is not an Instant Messenger; it is hard to keep up with the postings.
(MN: It is a difficulty. That’s why, as the master of the universe (well, this little corner of the universe, anyway), I sometimes make comments directly on the posted comment. I hope they have not proven to be too distracting. )
Now, to the answer to your question. This may hit you under the collar (remember, I am at work, and speaking with you at the same time, but I am on my break and I can break it down for you).
The bible states that if any man has tasted of the goodness of God and looks back, he is not fit for the Kingdom of God. Now I don’t know if you believe in the once saved always saved false doctrine, but if you leave the fold and give no consideration of what you are doing, (keep in mind, I’m not talking about any particular denomination), you are not fit to be in the Kingdom and are not fit to be called a brother or a sister in Christ.
So I hope that answers your question, because that’s what the Spirit is giving you. But keep in mind, God is married to the backslider and the sheep that got away so, there is always hope to come back. So if you leave and stay gone, then there is no covering.
Please remember that I am not talking about any particular church, denomination or doctrine. It’s all Christ’s church, I don’t care what the name is on the front. It could be called Dog Fight Church and it would still belong to him. Remember Jesus said the Kingdom of Heaven is like a net that is cast into the sea. You get all types of fish (denominations, beliefs, characters, etc.)
But he will sort the fish (his children) from the crabs (the ones that bring strife amongst the body), that don’t belong there. So to answer your question straitway, my answer is NO. If you leave the church and stay gone, you have given up your right to be called a brother. But I believe that is not the case with you, so it doesn’t apply to you.
One love in Christ.
(MN: Thank you for such a direct answer. Here is why I kept trying to make sure of your view. In part of your discsussion earlier you said, or at least strongly implied, that rejecting the Oneness teaching equals leaving the church. If I understood you correctly, as long as I hold to a trinitarian doctrine, then I am outside the church. And if I am outside the church, I am lost. If I were to die right this moment I would, as the phrase goes, die in my sins. By extension, if I die in my sins, then that means I do not have the Spirit of God. The Bible says in Romans 8 that if we do not have the Spirit we are none of His. If we, who reject the Oneness teaching, are without the Spirit (unsaved because we are not His), then we cannot be your brothers and sisters. I went through all of this to try and make sure that even though you are saying “The differences don’t matter,” your every statement says quite the contrary.
I don’t think any of the Trinitarians who read the postings on the site have a problem with you saying we are lost. If you say that, at least you are being consistent. But to say with one breath that we are your brothers and sisters, and then with the next that we are outside the church and will be eternally separated from God if we don’t repent of the doctrine is quite conatradictory.
As Rev_AK said, I believe your are quite sincere. But you really don’t seem to have chased the implications of what you believe out very far. You are certainly welcome to comment on this, but until you resolve what I believe to be a significant contradiction, I’m not sure how productive additional commenting will be. All the readers have your e-mail address and can contact you if you wish, if you choose not to resolve the glaring contradictions. )
I am not judgemental like you are sir. Get a grip, and stop trying to always refute what someone says, you and the “good Rev”. This blog is over, I am tired of casting my pearls.
(MN: Where have I been judgmental? I assume by judgmental you mean condmemning. Unless I am mistaken, you just compared me to a swine. How condemning is that?)
And by the way, I never said you nor anyone was going to hell. But if you don’t have the Spirit of Christ, you are not His. And that’s just where you will end up.
I don’t have time to read all of your numerous post. But I totally agree with you when you said, “…..There will be no Pentecostal, Baptist, Presbyterian, Lutheran, Catholic (most of them are heretical), Methodist, nor Protestant sections in God’s Kingdom.”
They all talk about each other for various reasons. But ALL Protestant denominations have FALSE and heretical teachings. They’ve all ERRORED concerning their doctrines on salvation, justification, and tithing.
Protestants accuse the Jehovah Witnesses of misinterpreting scriptures. But they do the exact same thing in formulating their doctrines. The Baptist call the Jehovah Witnesses “cults”. But their salvation doctrine is more damaging than some Jehovah Witness teachings. So who’s the real “cult”?
The thread count of this posting shouldn’t go into the record books, or you should only count the post that have more than 2 paragraphs… this post included.
Pastor John Coleman is carnal and full of errors. A brief glance at his site revealed he’s against female preachers. His revelations are not from the spirit of God. Therefore, we don’t need to read any further!!!
P.S. (Melvin is against female preachers, also.)
Okay. I guess you have already made up your mind. No need to confuse you with the facts. You may want to stop reading this posting as well. ‘Cause I agree that women should not be pastors.
Melvin
In the Love of Christ, (hope you got that)
PL
Bro. Paul,
I once Pastored a church that was formerly run by a woman.
Rev_Ak,
Just doing what I do…
In Christ,
PL
Any man or woman who calls Jesus their Lord, God (which is a man made word), and Savior is a brother to me (Red alert - Oneness doctrine talking! ).
Just because you believe God is 3 persons which the Bible does not state, does not make you any less a brother than the Bishops whom you slander (MN: Please show me the slander. What have I said about particular people that is not true or relevant to the issue at hand? ). As the book of Galatians 6:4 says, “Let every man prove his own work”.
And remember this please, gossiping and being a busybody posting things about people on your web is a sin just like any other.
Yours in Christ, William
Yours in Christ Jesus. William.
Your brother in Christ Jesus,
William
William,
I love your comments.
I believe I will drop you a line.
Melvin Jones (mjones@pulpit-pimps.org)
My apolgies for that last entry.
And please stop, putting your comments on my post to make me look like the bad guy
You and I are brothers regardless of what the other one thinks.
(MN: For the most part, the notes are just an efficient way of responding to a comment. I don’t think any of the other readers interpret it that way. By the way, Mormons have a slightly different theology as well. Are they also your brothers in Christ? )
I am sitting around on my job doing nothing :). System is down, so I have time to doodle around. I am a medical bill collector of all things :).
Feel free to do so. )
I gotta catch he train. I’ll drop you a line later tonight. Good talking to you.
Melvin
One love in Christ,
William
And we have another Luvvy Candidate)
I HOPE I WIN MELLY MEL.
(Melvin’s Note: You win what? I didn’t know we were competing.)
He then turns around and tells the people they should expect God to bless them with money and riches, especially if they bless him with their faith seeds. )
Yeah, I responded to your email this morning.
(MN: So we can stop the back and forth out here? )
Most definitely. Unless I have something else to say to the world
(joking).
Mel:
What’s your view point on “Apostolic Succession”? Definition provided for the sakes of the readership:
Apostolic Succession: “Christian doctrine of bishops authority: the doctrine of some Christian denominations that the ordination of bishops follows in an unbroken line of succession from the Apostles, providing the basis of their spiritual authority”
CC
All of the Apostles died and no one succeeded them.
Melvin
Melvin,
I recommend http://www.letusreason.org/Oneness.htm for William.
(is this a record for posts in a 24 hour period?)
(MN: Just about.
Are we brothers in Chrsit despite our differences, or do I not have the Spirit? )
And I truly seek the Lord DAILY and meditate on His word DAILY.
You are my brother despite our doctrinal differences. Do not misunderstand what I am saying, Rev.
Do you have the spirit Rev?
Now back to my question. Do you have the Spirit Rev?
(MN: One thing at a time William. One thing at a time. Let’s work out the brother/sister thing first. )
Just answer the question, yes or no?
It seems as if all the trinitarians are starting to gang up on the oneness boy. I’m shaking
I can’t speak for Jakes, Jones, or any other oneness preacher, but I will never turn away any trinitarian and I consider you all saved just as I am.
And who is JKJ?
(MN: John Kenneth Jenkins, the pastor of the soon-to-be FBCG Worship Center, a Big Dog Wannabe. )
William,
In case you haven’t quite left, please remember that you began the discussion. I simply questioned your premises.
Melvin
Finally, someone responds to me after an almost an hour. Melvin, something is wrong with your site. I get responses too slow.
William,
I don’t have time to read all of your numerous post.
By the way, what denomination are you?
The thread count of this posting shouldn’t go into the record books, or you should only count the post that have more than 2 paragraphs… this post included.
