How many of you out there know how to boil a frog? If you said, “Heat up a pot of water and throw the critter in there,” you would be wrong. That would work with a lobster, but if you tried that with a frog, all you would do is get the little beastie upset. At which point he jumps out of the water and kicks your behind. No, to safely boil the frog; you start with a pot of nice cool water. When you place the frog in the water, he feels right at home and relaxes. While he’s relaxing, you turn the fire on under the pot, just a little so the water will begin to warm up. The frog might notice that it’s getting a little warm but it won’t be enough to alarm him.
Then you turn the heat up a little more. And the water gets a little hotter. The frog might get a little uncomfortable, but he’ll pass it off as just his imagination.
Then turn it up some more, and the water begins to get really hot. By the time the frog realizes something might be wrong, he’s been in the hot water too long and has grown too weak to hop out of the water. I like to call this maneuver the “Slow Boil.”
This approach to boiling the frog is the approach John Jenkins and many other “dynamic” preachers have taken to boil their congregations. They call it church growth, but it’s just a way to get more frogs for the pot.
Remember someplace the beginning of this site’s existence I pointed out that John Jenkins is busy taking the church in a direction that isn’t consistent with effective Christianity? If you don’t, take a look at this posting, it outlines a couple of things. The post’s primary purpose is to help the average Christian recognize when he is being pimped.
One of the indicators is his use of the Slow Boil. He uses the approach to keep congregants and quickly add more congregants to the rolls.
Let’s review John’s actions since he has been the pastor of First Baptist Church of Glenarden (FBCG). When he took over, the church was Baptist. That is, they adhered to a specific set of doctrine and form of church government.
And believe it or not, Baptist doctrine is actually pretty good. While studying Calvin’s Institutes of the Christian Religion, and a book entitled “Church History In Plain Language,” I could see where the denomination came from. There is a lot of good in the denomination.
However, once John took over as the pastor/alpha pimp, he has over the last fifteen years or so been slowly moving the church in another direction.
Once the church moved to its current location (3600 Brightseat Road, Glenarden Maryland), John invited T. Dexter Jakes to speak. He also invited Tim Storey, the Azusa Street clown. Then he started selling Benny Hinn books and speaking at conferences that featured such people as Ken Copeland.
He also invited such people as the Meares, the pimps who run Six Flags Over Heaven in Prince Georges County, right across the street from Six Flags Over America. And he has had a host of folks who are bigger draws than they are Bible preachers. Even Tony “Toilet-mouth” Campollo came by and dropped a few expletives on the crowd.
Then John broke loose from the deacons and the trustees by going to “Love Offerings.” Since the board doesn’t pay him, they no longer have any say on what he teaches or does. And I must say he has taken full advantage of it.
His latest action, one that I have validated with at least two separate sources, indicates that he has decided to have T. Dexter Jakes as his mentor. T. Dexter Jakes, the oneness preacher who has managed to girlify more men than I can shake a stick at. T. Dexter Jakes, the man who can’t seem to fix his mouth to say “Yes, the Godhead is triune.” But also doesn’t have the ‘nads, or perhaps the integrity, to stand up and clearly state that he rejects the Trinity.
If the deacons are even somewhat Bible-centered, ask Deacon Lawrence Lee, or Deacon James Hughes, Deacon Mike Julius, Deacon William Jones, Deacon Keith Hinds, Deacon Fisher, or Deacon Stan Featherstone what they think of Jenkins’ decision to sit under a Oneness Pentecostal. Ask them why they are supporting John’s association with a oneness preacher. Ask them why they are still selling heretics’ books and tapes in the bookstore. And ask them why the place is still called First Baptist Church of Glenarden. Though come to think about it, the name will probably change once the leadership moves you into the new facility out in Kettering. I mean, it doesn’t make much sense to use Glenarden in the title since you won’t be in Glenarden. And it doesn’t make much sense to have “Baptist” in the title if they aren’t going to at least give lip service to Baptist doctrine.

But don’t expect an answer from the deacons. None of them were put in place because of their insight into scripture or their willingness to stand on the Word. And I dare say none of them will be able to give you a competent answer when you challenge them. If they are still there, and if they are still deaconing, it’s very likely they don’t have a clue, don’t have a backbone, or just don’t care about you.
John sees you as grist for his mill, a source of power and income. And he has used the Slow Boil maneuver to trap you and keep you in the organization.

Again, why do you hate Pastor Jenkins and the FBCG so badly?
If you are no longer a member, then why do you care? Are you a pastor? Because if you are, I want to visit your church, and see how you preach and to see how many members you have.
I mean, this is a horrible web site, you must feel no shame! If they are living wrong, let God deal with them, last I checked, you weren’t God. If they are livng wrong, in your opinion, pray for them that God will lead them in the right direction.
You may need some therapy because you have some major issues with pastors, churches, etc.
Maybe if you read your bible more and stayed off the internet with this mess, you may one day save lots of people from hell, and be the All American Pastor.
I think that this site sucks and I will never have anyone talk me into viewing this awful mess again. If it wasn’t for God working through Pastor Jenkins and his word reaching me, I wouldn’t be alive today.
Yes, I came from a big church before attending FBCG where I wasn’t growing. I needed a church and a pastor to give me some hope and to inspire me to strive for God best! I found it here. So please stop this insanity before God deals with you.
Do you honestly think God is pleased with you about this site? Find a pulpit and voice your views, instead of slandering this pastors who have children and family and members who may stumble across this site in error. If you are not a pastor, pray and ask God if he called you, if not, STOP!
I am a member of FBCG I have been one for 15 years . I have to say that when I saw this sight I was very furious . I can’t beleive you people really consider yourselves to be Christians. First of , real Christians would not worry about were their tiths are going. You should give them because you want to, its the right thing to do and the Christian thing to do.
I was baptised in that church. I learned all of my knowledge of the Bible there and wouldn’t want to be at any other church . I am 15 years old and I feel Pastor Jenkins preaches in a way that I can understand and in a way that I can use the knowledge to apply to my everyday life. I’m sure a lot of other teens in the church can relate as well as adults.
This is to Melvin Jones: did you ever stop to think that we have such a big congregation because he is a good Pastor? Think about it , Pastor is not MAKING any of us come back . We come back because we want to hear the word that Pastor teaches us. I don’t feel that we are being pimped in any way. And pleasedon’t think I am just young and naive and I don’t get your points .
I disagree with every thing you have said. I really don’t see how Pastor Jenkins relates to your little posting on how to realize when your being pimped. I don’t think it is your place to say any of this because as you said you can’t see into his heart. I have alot more to say but I’ll keep it to myself . But I just don’t see My Pastor as a pimp.
Yeah he wants a bigger building. So what? Yeah we have a love offering. So what? We give it because the way he teaches is the best way. And I stick to Gods word.
At first I didn’t really read my Bible or pay attention in church. But as I got older I started listening and as I read along with Pastor in Church, I learned bible stories and I remembered them and read more because the way he taught it made me want to.

How in the world does a saint of God talk about people ejaculating like you did? This kind of spirit sounds like the same spirit of these hoodlum preachers pretending to be “men of God.” These men produce people like you with gutter spirits not holy spirits. If nothing else your own words should show you you need to find the true and living God. He will cause YOU to repent, clean up your spirit, wash you in his blood and renew your mind. Then your speech would be holy and reflective of the spirit of God. What a mess people like you are in that you let men control your mind and make you believe that defending them is more important than your own salvation. Clean up your spirit, drink from the fountain of life while you still have time because anyone whose mind is so bent that you could post those comments cannot find approval in the kingdom of Heaven. That is what you should be concerned with. Your citizenship in heaven is the issue at stake not your membership in a gang pretending to be a church. I say gang because your speech is thuggish.
