<description>I don't know about anybody else but I read the reverends article on salvation and it is a very convincing arguement. I mean really convincing! Makes me think about my own salavation and also makes me realize just how narrow this path is and how few will enter in at the gate. I definitely think this is a good topic for me to start putting some heavy research into.

<description>Very good AJK. Unlike Tony, you have defended your position with Scripture and explained how you came to the interpretation you did. Tony, on the other hand, attempts to appeal to some spiritual acuteness and ends up calling God a liar.

Nice job.

Anyone else? Tony? Anonymous?

		<description>Ephesians 1:13-14
In whom ye also trusted, after ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest deposit of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of His glory.

I disagree with Tony concerning losing salvation. I wish he would have supported his argument better than making statements about being spiritually blinded. We should be able to reason toghether using scripture as our basis for our beliefs.

I can't see how I can possibly lose my salvation. Maybe a question we should ask is if an individual was truly saved.

If we examine Ephesians 1:13-14 it clearly states that believers are sealed by the Holy Spirit following their acceptance of the gospel.

The word seal means identification of ownership. We are seperated and set apart for God, and marked as belonging to Him. The sealer is Christ and the Holy Spirit is the seal.

The word earnest is considered a downpayment given in advance as security for the rest of our inheritance. The Holy Spirit gaurentees our inheritance mentioned in Ephesians 1:11.

Here's my question if I am sealed by Christ and the Holy Spirit upon my acceptance of the gospel and God also makes a pledge to receive my inheritance then why would God violate his Word and break the seal? Does God lie? When has He broken any of His promises?

Please don't call me spiritually blinded, I know that I have received salvation because the Spirit testifies with mine that indeed I am saved. Romans 8:16 The Spirit bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.

Ephesians 1:12-14 confirms that I am sealed until the day of redemption and Romans 8:16 confirms that to me daily.</description>

<description>Tony, you disappoint me. I had hoped one of you would provide something more than the empty polemic I just read. It's not enough to smugly and arrogantly pronounce me wrong. You must tell me why and where. What about the things I have said are wrong? Why do you say, other than they disagree with your view, they are wrong? So far your entire response has consisted of "You're wrong beccause it's not true!" My children, when they were five years old were able to do better than that.

What is the correct interpretation of Luke 13:3, 5 and what is the basis of the interpretation? Help me out here!

I fear you are not defending your doctrine very well.

		<description>
Melvin, you did not impress me with "Melvin's interpetation" of scriptures. I hope no "babes in Christ" read your comments. I don't have time to argue. So my comments are brief.

The bottom line is this (even among ministers): Reader's interpretation and understanding of scriptures will vary. Yet (in God's eyes) some folks are right vs. wrong. Melvin, you and other believers in "once saved always saved" (OSAS) are WRONG.

In your case, many of your scripture interpretations are INCORRECT due to "spiritual blindness". You can see only what's written in black and white. That's why you think scriptures were taken out of context. When you're "spiritually blind", you're not able to "spiritually discern" what GOD's word is saying.

Just like most OSAS teachers, your view and understanding of "salvation" is INCORRECT. (Your misinterpretation of Luke 13:3, 5 and other scriptures proves that.) That's why you are unable to recognize and understand many scriptures that pretain to "salvation".

Furthermore, Jesus Christ did not teach "once saved always saved"!! That teaching will never prepare the saints for the return of Christ. So whomever teaches OSAS is teaching heresy, and they're in trouble with God.

Dear Anon,
I agree with you and enjoyed your presentation. Don't waste your time arguing with Melvin and other OSAS believers. Just pray for them AND the persons who hear their teachings. Stand firm in your convictions.

<description>Gosh Joan, I told you near the beginning of the post that I put his complete comment at the end of the article. Can I assume from this that you didn't read all the way through the article? You might try doing that first. It will probably save you a lot of trouble.

I have neither the need nor the desire to misinterpret what Anon says. He twists scripture enough all by himself.
