The military has a phrase I like a lot. When the Air Force is providing close air support or insuring air superiority, they send attack craft like the A-10 or fighters like the F-16 or F/A-18 to destroy enemy forces in the area. If there are a lot of them (enemy forces), the area they are in is said to be a “target rich environment”. Prince Georges county and Washington, DC are, for me, just such a target rich environment. I sometimes have trouble making the time to report on the more outrageous goings on. But I had to make time for this as soon as I discovered it.
A friend of mine gave me a call today to let me know that Louis Farrakhan (aka Calypso Louie) is going to be speaking at Ebenezer A.M.E church on May 2, 2005. Since I don’t like to publish things if I don’t have sufficient objective evidence of it’s accuracy, I asked my friend to send me a copy of the flyer announcing the event. It was given to him by a fellow (a Black Muslim) while on the Metro (subway for you who don’t live in the area).

Click on it and get a larger version of the offending piece of paper. For those of you who might not be aware, Calypso Louie is the leader of the Nation of Islam (NOI), the Black Muslims.
We know that Islam and Christianity are not compatible. And according to the orthodox Muslims, NOI has little to do with authentic Islam other than the fact that they use the Koran and they don’t eat pork. There is even less commonality between Christianity and NOI. Yet Union Temple Baptist in Washington DC and Ebenezer AME in Prince Georges County Maryland seem to think we should identify with them.
Calypso Louie preaches that Master W. Fard Muhammad is the savior of the Black race. An interesting statement in itself. If this is the case, why is he being invited to speak in a supposedly Christian church where they are supposed to believe that Jesus Christ is the savior of all men? Why is a man who denies the deity of Jesus Christ being invited to speak to the congregation and being granted validity as a spiritual source by the pastor of the church? It gets better.
Browning is apparently working closely with a fellow by the name of Willie F. Wilson, the pastor of Union Temple Baptist Church in the District. This pimp is apparently doing one better than the folks at Ebenezer. At Union Temple Farrakhan is going to be speaking at the Sunday service, probably pumping up business for the 10 year anniversary of the Million Man March. Though ostensibley he’s there to help celebrate the 32nd pastoral anniversay. Here’s an e-flyer from Union.
Notice who else will be there. That’s right. Jesse “Having My Baby” Jackson and Al “Burn Jew Burn” Sharpton are guests of honor. And of course that Oneness weasel Noel Jones will be there. I still can’t figure out why someone like Jones, who purports to be tied into supernatural power and wisdom, would appear with someone who denies the deity of Jesus Christ. Obviously it’s not about the truth.
Why are supposedly “spirit filled” men agreeing to appear with him? Okay, they’re not there at the same time. But it’s in support of the same overall event. And notice that Paul “Salt of the Earth” Morton spoke a couple of nights ago. Wouldn’t you think he would know better. Would any of you get upset if David Duke, the former Klan grand wizard, appeared there during one of the nights?
I can only conclude one of two things. Either Grainger Browning doesn’t know any better or he thinks you people are just plain stupid. Louie doesn’t just deny the Trinity, he denies the very deity of Jesus Christ and the validity of Christianity. He denies the validity of the Bible as a final authority (but still he knows it better than most of the Big Dog and Big Dog wannabe pimps out there). He doesn’t even pretend to be a part of the Body of Christ. And yet, Grainger Browning has invited him to preach at the church on Monday evening. Willie Wilson has invited him to speak on Sunday morning (1 May 2005). These guys all seem to be feeding on each other. I can’t help but think it’s about the Benjamins and not the truth.
But you know what’s really a shame? I’ve heard Scripture (Old and New Testament) exposited more competently by Calypso Louie than I ever have by Browning and either of the other two stooges (J. Jackson and N. Jones).
I guess what I should be impressed by is the fact that Grainger Browning took Ebenezer from 17 members to over 12,000 members. What ever.
And we won’t even talk about the co-pastor thing.
This is why I had to leave Ebenezer. I just could not take Jesse -she’s having my baby Jackson- pimping from the Pulpit. He was an occassional guest speaker there. I went looking for a word from God the Sunday after 9/11 and instead JJ was there on his political soapbox. Then the pastor started making international trips to war zones w/ JJ. JJ has never apologized or acknowledged that he was out of order or confessed to the body that he did something wrong. & he doesn’t preach, he gives political speeches tied to whatever his cause is that particular Sunday.
Fomer member myself. Many of my friends and family are still there and refuse to leave, even when I point out the miss use of scripture and the behind the scene clicks that only the wealthy or in the know people get to be a part of.

Another thing reveled by Dr.Price’s race, religion, and racism series. Over a year going after the church and no offense to you guys i’m sure this doesn’t apply but I have to say. I haven’t seen the level of attacks hoisted at Dr.Price since that series making me question those who go after him and that series is one of the factors that make me feel he’s real. Why would someone who just wants money go a whole year alienating himself from the wofer or charismatic or prosperity movement? He lost alot of that precious money and membership you guys say he’s on the prowl for so after that series it’s gonna take a lot more than IC’s and Gary’s collage of hyperactive quotes to send me running to the hills.

The pimps do, on occasion, say something of worth. I listened to Price go through the Race series and it was good. He covered the “Study” bible that subtly promote racism, he went through some of the history of the church in America and it’s nascent racism, he did,overall, what I consider a good job.
But as I was sitting there, one of my main thoughts was: “Why the heck can’t he do this kind of work when it comes to Christianity?!?!
Teaching on race wouldn’t alienate him. In fact, if you look at his relationship with the White WoFers, he is suffering no alienation whatsoever. In fact, Carlton (Let’s All Get Along) Pearson has suffered more alienation than Price. That’s one of the reasons I suspect Pearson is a straight up heretic and not a pimp. Price, on the other hand, is greatly profiting from the doctrine he teaches, one of the requirements for Pimpdom.
