“9 By faith he lived as an alien in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, fellow heirs of the same promise…”
Every once in a while, I feel like this guy when I talk to the typical “evangelical” Christian. It’s as if I am an alien from the planet Farkwar using a completely unheard of language.

As an example, I spoke to Deacon Lee the other day and I was astounded as I listened to him. Basically, he stated that if FBCG got really outrageous he would leave. I guess he and I must mean different things when we say outrageous. My trip wire was preaching a different gospel. His seems to be further out, though I’m not really sure of what’s further out than changing the gospel. Maybe if they started doing animal sacrifices.
Then I asked: “What would be outrageous enough?”
He responded: “I don’t know.” He never really seemed to understand that if he didn’t know what would cause him to leave, then nothing would cause him to leave. He will probably be there until the day he dies, even if Jenkins moves on to become the pastor of another church and a woman takes over at FBCG.
Another friend (I won’t mention his name because he’s paranoid), talks about investigating the things I have told him. But months and literally years later, he has done no investigating. All he does is sit around and say …”I don’t like the way things are going. They are getting more and more Charismatic.” Yet, he takes no action.
My general opinion is that most of the people stuck in the churches like FBCG or churches that follow after Copeland, Dollar, and the Word Faith idiocy are pretty much getting what they deserve. Once the congregation turns from the light they have, they will only get worse, looking for things that will tickle their ears.
So be it.
