You can always tell when a fellow wants to run with the Big Dogs. He starts making the same noises the Big Dogs make. Of course the definition of a Big Dog varies from place to place. In the church community (as opposed to the Christian Community), the Big Dogs are the holy Trinity of Word Faith: Ken Copeland, Fred Price, and Cashflo Dollar.
For years these con artists (also known as Pulpit Pimps) have been preaching lots of bad doctrine. Most of it tends to put an emphasis on material possessions. Quick labels for it have included Name It and Claim It or “Gab it and Grab It.” Most of it is a just an appeal to the believer’s greed and a distraction from the real issues of Christianity and Christian living.
But some of their foolishness is real live heresy. It goes something like this: Jesus death on the cross wasnt sufficient to pay for our sins. His spirit had to suffer in hell for three days to do that. After all, the teaching goes, if His death of the cross could have paid for our sins, then Fred Price could have died for us.
Well guess what? John started inviting people in who taught Name It and Claim it. Except, of course, they kept saying they werent teaching it. Then, about four years ago, John Jenkins stepped up and made his first real bid at running with the Big Dogs. He started preaching that Jesus death on the cross didnt pay for our sins. In order to pay for our sins, He had to - you guessed it - suffer in hell as a spirit in order to pay for our sins.
The good pastor and I talked about this for the better part of three months. His best defense was as weak and very twisted interpretation of Ephesians 4:8,9. The details aren’t even worth relating to you. When I asked John to explain how Jesus could have been in hell for three days when He had told one of the thieves on the cross next to Him that he would be with Him that day in paradise, John gave a very revealing response. He said It depends on what the Bible means by Paradise. It almost sounds like the Christian equivalent of “It depends on what the definition of is”, is.”
I pretty well decided at that point that running with the Big Dogs was more important to him than getting the basics of the Gospel right. And it was at that point I decided to leave FBCG. John is preparing to move his congregation into a $22,000,000 facility. Hes finally running with the Big Dogs. And here’s an artist’s rendition of the Dog House.

But back to the issue of Jesus in Hell. Sadly, a couple of his ministers, including Clarence Eldrige, began repeating the heresy when they made altar calls. When I asked Clarence why he said Jesus suffered in hell, he had absolutely, I repeat, absolutely no defense for the statement. He gave me one of his empty smiles and promised to get with me later to talk about it, but he never did.
Though I lost a lot, I haven’t regretted a day since I walked away.
luv this site
always interesting content here
WHOEVER YOU ARE, I THINK THAT YOU MUST BE VERY ENVIOUS OF PASTOR JENKINS AND THE OTHER PASTORS AND MINISTERS, TO HAVE SUCH NEGATIVE BELIEFS OF THE SCRIPTURE AND YOU DO NOT WALK IN FAITH OF YOUR PASTOR OR HIS BELIEF OF THE HOLY BIBLE,WHO ARE YOU TO JUDGE WHAT ANY OF THE PASTORS SAY IS THE WRONG WAY TO INTERPRET THE BIBLE, YOUR BELIEFS ARE YOURS TO INTERPRET ANY WAY THAT YOU WANT, BECAUSE YOU ARE WHO YOU ARE AND PASTOR JENKINS, REVEREND ELDRIDGE, YOU DID NAME HIM AS ONE OF PASTOR JENKINS FOLLOWERS OF THE WORD, THEY ARE WHO THEY ARE AND IF WE ARE TO SURVIVE THIS WORLD, WITH ALL THE KILLINGS,WAR AND EVERTHING ELSE YOU CAN NAME IS GOING ON YOU NEED OUR GOD AND YOU ARE NOT GOD, GOD IS THE ONLY ONE TO JUDGE, NOT YOU. SOUNDS TO ME AS IF YOU NEED GOD IN YOUR LIFE, NOT (SATAN). I THINK WE NEED TO PRAY FOR YOUR SOUL. MAYBE YOU WILL BELIEVE. SO DON’T BE ENVIOUS OF MY PASTOR JENKINS OR ANY OF THE OTHER PASTORS, GO TO CLASSES AND BECOME A PASTOR, OR MINISTER AND BE HAPPY.
PS: WHY DO WE NOT KNOW WHO YOU ARE.
This dear lady is the very reason I have this site out here. She completely trusts John Jenkins and is depending on him to guide her toward God. From what she is saying, she seems to be a babe in Christ. And in all probability, given the lack of teachiing he provides, she will probably die as a babe in Christ, never having grown to be independent of John Jenkins.
The interesting thing is that many of the ministers, deacons, and elders are in exactly the same condition. Remember the correspondence between me and Godlock, the new pastor of Calvert County Baptist Church, the FBCG spin-off?

I think instead of calling the author of this site a jerk, an idiot and telling him he doesn’t know what he is talking about, see for yourself, read your Bibles. If you are a member of Glenarden and you observe these things are under the leadership of false doctrine then is your choice to stay. Alot of times people know certain stuff is going on in the church, but because they are a friend of the pastor (leadership ), or looking to be in the popular crowd eventually, then they will overlook these things and go ahead with the program. Instead of charging back at the author with calling him names, present some scriptures to why you think he is wrong, because the word of God is the truth and the light. I really find this sight intriquing. In my opinion, those who are saying that the author is judging, you are actually contradicting yourselves because that’s exactly what you are doing to him. For the record I don’t know the author, I just came upon this site today.

Wow! I came across this site by accident, and found some things very interesting. There are a couple things I need to say and I’m going to bounce. Excuse the spelling errors and the grammatical mistakes.
First and foremost I love FBCG. I have learned a lot and have built some pretty good relationships with some of by brothers and sisters in Christ. So, I’m not here to defend FBCG or Pastor Jenkins. I’m also not here to defend the owner of this BLOG because there are some things that I think are on point and there are other things here that I think is bias. I’m here as a concerned Christian. I’ve been a member of FBCG for a little more than 4 years, my wife has been here a little longer. In the beginning, I felt like I was right at home. Took some classes, join a couple of ministries(which I’m still active in),pay my tithes and went to bible study every week. As someone who was growing in Christ, I continue to read the bible but I soon start to come across sites like this. I began to realize that there is a growing problem in the Christian Church and Glenarden is not excluded from this. To be truthful, I don’t care to know about the dark sub-culture that exist at FBCG, but I do care if what I’m being taught lines up with scripture and I do care if the people who are the examples, the ones who are in leadership are leading their lives within the parameters of God’s will and His word. As a believer I think this is essential in a persons walk to see other believers, especially those in leadership, living their lives in this manner and not faking it. I get a boost from this along with praying daily and staying in that word.
Now, I do have some personal issues with FBCG, but it has not ran me and the wife away yet. I’m still tripping off the torture me and my wife had to endure just to have our wedding there. If we had the chance to do it all over again we would have had at my mom’s church. I still cannot believe they charged 2 members, who are active memebers, who pay tithes and offering on the regular, a fee to use the micrphone system in the church. That crap was not cheap either. I’m still a little salty about that, but that is not why I’m posting. Sorry for the tangent.
Anyway, I read in several sections on this web blog that FBCG sometimes does not practice what they preach. Sorry to admit this but that accusation holds a some weight. If we are a bible believing church then we need to uphold the principals that we have read and have been taught from the pulpit. I think one of the things I had to raise a red flag to are some of the guest who have come to FBCG. Some have been great and preached the word like it suppose to preached, straight from the word of God while others preached what they thought the congregation wanted to hear and in some cases it was not bibilical. Here is one example, for the past 3 years I have endured sitting there at the New years revival and hearing a word from Bishop T.D. Jakes. I had to be there because my ministry was working the event those nights. I’m not sure why he was there in the first place because some of the things that he’s preached are just not biblical. I witness that with my own eyes when I was on travel in Dallas and visted the Potter’s House one Sunday morning. Some of the people he has aligned himself with in the “Word of Faith” movement(ie. those you see on TBN) is quite disturbing to me. So I had to ask the question again, why is he here. I have a lot of respect for Pastor Jenkins, but I just don’t understand why he has aligned himself with Jakes, who himself(Jakes) has established a relationship with a circle of people who do not teach essential Christian doctrine. I admit he said some good things, but I still can’t shake the fact that the other so-called pastors he hang around with are notorious for preaching and supporting an un-biblical doctrine. I’m having a real hard time with this. It’s the whole “Birds of the feather, flock together”, saying that has me twisted.
I just want FBCG to live up to the motto that we hold in such high regard, “Developing Dynamic Disciples Through Discipleship, Discipline and Duplication”. I pray things will get better, but I fear that once the new church is built there is going to be a huge influx of a lot things which has the potential to open up a bigger can of worms. The new place is a Pandora’s Box waiting to happen. The wife and I talked about it and we fear that there is going to be a day we may have to leave FBCG. Through this place God has turned my life around and I would love to see others have that same experience, but I don’t want us to go down a road in which the gospel is being twisted. I have always thought that FBCG was not the typical mega church, but I fear that if things continue then it may become like one. I think about a lesson that Pastor taught in Bible study a couple of times(once this year) about the Compromising Church(Revelation 2:12-17), has FBCG become like this church? I don’t know, but I do see some warning signs. Then I think about a sermon preached a couple of months ago from Jude. Man, though it’s one the smallest book in the bible, that one chapter is so powerful. As a member of the body of Christ we absolutly cannot compromise on God’s instructions nor can we allow others to teach false doctrines. Especially in our pulpit. This goes for the members, deacons, ministerial staff and the pastor himself. I do not condone what has been said on this blog, but I do challenge all those involved, the owner of this BLOG, members(including myself), deacons, and ministerial staff to be more vigilant, uncompromising and hold on to God’s word. In these ending days that is all we going to have and we must be equipped properly and be ready to engage in spiritual war.
