Back in the early days of the site, I toyed with the idea of audio clips of me and various other folks. This one, a tirade against the pimps, is pretty much the only one I did. And let me tell you - it took a lot of work. I couldn’t just wait until the anointing hit. I had to lay out what I wanted to say. I actually had to walk through it a couple of times to make sure it said what I wanted it to say.
The speech (I still hesitate to call these things sermons) lays out verbally the reasons for the site, attempting to address the proliferation of knee-jerk responses the site drew.
Interestingly, I could almost feel some spirit trying to take control of me and have me tell you “Turn to you neighbor and say ‘Ain’t no pimp gonna take advantage of me!!!!’” But as you can see, I was able to successfully fight off that particular urge.
Melvin that was the best rant that I’ve ever heard! Scriptural and to the point. But I hate to tell ya, there will still be critics no matter how much scripture is used. They don’t care how biblical sound the discussion; they will always defend the pimp. I lost my family one time because of pimps, God has restored but it was hard. Be encouraged because someone will hear the Word and repent.
Keep pressing the battle to the gate brother~
Again Melvin,
I commend your patience and diligence. You are ensuring that even if there is an issue or challenge reading whats on the site they can here it, great.
Remember finding this somewhere and it speaks to a lot of the sheeple, “One of the things we must understand is that the gospel will be personally offensive to non-Christians and funnily enough even to some professing Christians. Apart from the enlightenment of regeneration, unbelievers take offense at the message that they are spiritually dead, at enmity with a holy God, helpless to redeem themselves, and therefore utterly dependent on the grace of God to save them through faith in Jesus Christ.” Again well done Melvin, continue to fight the good fight of faith.
You pickin’ up an offering?
Hey Brother! Nice sermon..lol. Made a lot of sense, was well thought out and to the point. You should do more of them. Besides, the pimps have no problems reaching the masses by whatever means necessary. If you can encourage one person (and I’m sure there are many) away from the pimps, no telling how many people that one person can influence with the truth of God’s word!
Really enjoyed your discourse…especially the reminder that we are just as accountable for Omission as Commission! Keep up the good work.
Yeah Melvin, what do I have to give to get the 100 fold?
Melvin, you’re message was on point!! Keep it up.
That’s why I love this site!
Melvin-you are right all the time
Well done, Benevolent One…well done.
I like the podcast format you should do more.
Watched a little of the Beg-o-thon on TBN last night and I believe I have seen the worst of the Pulpit Pimps….you know the guy with the dead cat sittin on top of his head….that great man of God (cough, cough) Steve Munsey….what a joke…..He is the worst liar and money chaser of all of them all in my opinion. Well, there is Benny Hinn thou and Paula White and Fred Price and Ken Copeland….wow, I guess there is alot of them….lol….anyway, Steve appears on every beg-o-thon that all of the so called ‘christian’ networks have on telling the same lies while repeating ‘go to the phone’ over and over. Why o why doesn’t God strike these liars down?
At least let them lose the gold and silver that they drool over….Why is it so obvious to some and so hidden to others? One more thing, found a nice piece about this in 1Tim 6:5….’useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth who suppose that Godliness is a means of GAIN. From such withdraw yourself.”
(MN: Yes. It’s there, plain as day.
Does this perhaps go back to God’s sovereignty? He moves hearts as he chooses to move them. He got you out of it, or kept you out of it, by His grace, not your smarts [though your smarts might have been the means dependent on His grace.] Monergists tend to have the same question about Arminians by the way. )
Melvin….you are so right….God kept me out of the WoF movement through His grace. It was certainly not my ’smarts’ by any means. I just hope that through your site and others that maybe another spirit won’t be lost to these ‘Men of God’.
Hello, realdeal:
As we all, who have been “elected,” should drop to our knees in thanks to the Almighty.
But for His grace, you and I could have been pots thrown on the wheel designed for the collection of excrement. (Romans 9 is pretty cool.)
Uh, maybe I’m reading you incorrectly, but …
we can’t “be lost” once we are found. (cf. John 10:26-29), and if are actually “lost” we can never “be found.” (It’s that pesky 9th chapter in the Epistle to the Romans, and the clay pot thingy, and Esau, and Pharaoh, and stuff like that.)
Peter.
Thanks dickkopf for reminding me of Romans 9. Very cool….and actually Romans 8 is one of my favorites. To narrow it down for the pulpit pimps Romans 8:5-8 is another blow to their cause and a very powerful message about ‘things of the flesh’. Of course there are so many verses that deal with these pimps, so many in fact its amazing that the sheeple don’t bother to read and see. The way things are going now (to me at least it’s clear) you can’t tell me that Jesus didn’t know of what was to come because things are shaking out just like He said.
Be encouraged Melvin!
You are not the only one on the internet with a site trying to warn others about the false teachers. There are a number of ones on Youtube and also I found Susan Puzio on blogtalkradio. She is really good. Her take is the same as yours Pimps in the Pulpit. She talks about the scams and lying to the followers. So called ministers such as Morris Cerullo,TBN, Paula White etc. So, maybe check out her blogradio.
I talk to or try to warn people I meet and, of course, family members and friends but it is up to them take heed and run from these false ministers.
Keep up the good work! You are helping someone!
Melvin - I was startled when you stopped talking.
That was really good. I must thank you for reminding me of the scripture that counters “eat the meat, leave the bones”.
Well done.
